    Watching your vid in 2021. Have a 1999 VS800GL myself, which sat for 2 years. Wondering if the float, seat, and needle you replaced here are the prime candidates for varnishing or blockage due to sitting idle. Else what area of the carb would you focus on cleaning or replacing?

      When cleaning any carb the main areas to focus on are the jets and the jet passages, and the needle and seat on the floats. Thanks for watching. Sorry it took so long for me to answer.

    Can you explain which holes or for which hose to attach? In your front carb video, you explained where each hose attaches (seam cable, breather hose, gas inlet, choke, etc).

    Where do the O rings that come with carb kit go? Thanks

    I know very little about carbs. What about the smaller diaphragm on the side?

      Air cut off valve. Just examine and clean. If no tears just reassemble.

    I’m doing a rebuild on my intruder as well. That 6mm bolt next to the float, what does that thread into. I took everything apart and give the body a bath got everything together and that bolt just doesn’t reach threads.

      Unfortunately I don't own that particular bike, and I can not think which bolt you are talking about. Your best bet would be look it up on an exploded diagram. It should shed some light on it for you.

    My bike idles fine, but when I give it throttle it bogs.. do you think its a jet? Gee.. I was really hoping you were going to talk about that. You know a lot more than I do.

      Sounds like a clogged main jet likely.

      clean your jets.
      most times, a good clean and proper adjustment is all that is needed. for more humid areas, or for sudden changes in climate or altitude; you'll need a jet.
      for me, I needed slighly smaller jets. I live in a coastal state with very high humidity.

    Is there any way to change the front carb bowl gasket without completely removing the carbs?

    • @mothershipmotorsports9802
      @mothershipmotorsports9802  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not that I am aware of. There may be a way, but there just isnt a lot of room for that. Give it a shot and let me know ! Thanks

    What might cause the rear carb to overflow fuel out the overflow line and onto the ground? Bike sat for 2 years and I fear the carbs (or at least one of them) are gunked up.

    • @mothershipmotorsports9802
      @mothershipmotorsports9802  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope you got your carbs figured out. Typically if gas runs out of the overflow tube, the float level is to o high or there is a blockage in the float seat. After sitting for 2 years the latter would be my guess.

      Pulling the front carb is a trick, but he explains how to do it. It’s semi-difficult, best advice is to take pictures/video, and get some painters tape and label, wrap wires, wrap up hardware with screws, get yourself an organizer bin too if it helps, and last, if it feels like you’re pulling or prying to much, it’s not the right way, don’t want to break stuff, and write down the order of what came off

    What brand rebuild kit did you get and could you possibly link it?

    • @mothershipmotorsports9802
      @mothershipmotorsports9802  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The kit I used was a cheap unbranded set. I have built a few other carbs since and I prefer the All Balls brand kits.

      @@mothershipmotorsports9802 ok thank you. I've been trying to find a mikuni brand rebuild kit and I've found many but not for the BDS36SS and BS36SS that are in the suzuki vs800gl. That is the model numbers that were on the one you did in the video too yes?

      revzilla has the kits for 70 dollars or so per carb.
      ebay has two carb kits for around 18 after tax.
      good luck.

    it was frustrating you didnt show anything about the jets, thats like the main thing that gets clogged and gunked up

    • @mothershipmotorsports9802

      Sorry about that. The series was mostly focused on the removal and installation, since Suzuki did us no favors in that regard.
