Thanks so much. I have been sewing for 45 years and have tied I'm sure hundreds of knots. I just make a ball of thread at the tail and pull until it makes a knotted mess. It works but it's not an awesome way to do it. I saw someone at an embroidery class do it your way and wow, so much better. I had to TH-cam it to get the instructions. I will be bookmarking this for reference in case I forget lol

My grandaughter aged six who is LEFT HANDED had been taught how to do this last year but couldn't quite remember. She re- learnt how to do it with your left handed instructions in a flash. It's rare anyone remembers the lefties. Granny also learnt how to do it. Sewing for 60 odd years and never knew! What a revelation... Thank you SO much !

Slowly but surely I finally got it! But I had to go over the video again and again to get it. It’s actually easier than it looks. You just put the end of the thread next to the eye of the needle and take the rest that is closest to the end (the one being held next to the eye), wrap it around a few times and just push down through the needle carefully. It gets easier as you practice.

With this tutorial, I was finally able to make a normal, proper looking knot.

I just need you to know that I watch this video EVERY October when I'm DIYing my Halloween costumes. I somehow NEVER remember, exactly how to do it, and you have become a staple Halloween tradition for me 😂

Thank you - I hadn't picked up a sewing needle in over 20 years (not since we did it in junior school!), yet I got this just fine.

Thank you. I am not a beginner with sewing. I have been making costumes using a machine for many years and never did by hand due to the knot always came loose , but now that I saw this easier knot then what I originally was taught my designs can be much more elaborate. You can never stop learning new tricks when it comes to art or sewing.

I know this video is a bit old but I am 23 years old and I never learned how to sew I always had someone in my family do for me recently my favorite pants have a hole in them that make me really uncomfortable and it's been 5 days and nobody has done it for me so I looked up some TH-cam videos on how to sew a hole but none of them showed me how to in the knot and you literally put it in the easiest way possible and I was absolutely shocked at how easy it was so thank you so much for this ❤️

I have watched 2 videos on sewing, this one for starting a knot and another video for finishing. And I have been amazed if anyone wants to knot the other video let me know. It's a great short video for doing a finish knot. I'm so thankful for both of these videos
