"Why Are We Talking About Rabbits?" takes you beyond rhetorical "rabbits" and the shallow approach that the media and most thinkers today take to examine contemporary cultural phenomena. Using theology, history, philosophy and years of travel in Mali, the Republic of Georgia, Haiti, and beyond, John Heers offers a refreshing take to how we got to where we are now. WAWTAR is all about talking about those heavy things… lightly.

I like these brothers. Edit- love these brothers
Much needed.
You cry for the right reasons. Thank you, I needed to hear this.
You are kind. I hope we can all help each other strip off all the vanity… but then I catch myself being vain! Little by little!
@@heavythingslightly Our human condition that we struggle against.
It was refreshing, indeed
This was great!
I love your videos and what you do. Hi from Southern France, near Marseille.
Much love to you as well!
Love hearing John talk. Very cool mannerisms mixed with a true beautiful heart. Keep doing what you do, if I were young without a fam I’d be rolling around the world with you. Your brothers pretty cool too 😂
I'm the 'Evan' that John keeps calling out in the front row hah. I have your postcard for First Things and have been meaning to send it to you John! Your videos recently on War have been badass and amazing, thank you for them.
P.S. Evan actually is the Welsh version of John, so we have the same name. Amen to you for coming to the conference brother!
Thank you for your work John. I have to remember these things are LITERALLY to die for. God help me.
I love you brother! Keep spreading the old ways! See you soon!❤
Glory to God, very good talk
Great talk man! Thank you ☦️🙏🏽❤️
Yeah... something similar to the guy on the side of the road happened last year. I'm still not sure what to do about it, but this was an oddly well-timed podcast since today I was planning on asking a friend for advice on the situation.
I hope you find a way to enter the situation good brother. Find me at johnheers@first-things.org if you feel like reaching out. Little by little indeed…
@@heavythingslightly I just now saw this comment--I'll be sending an email your way soon.
Is it wrong that I might have to go out and buy a bigger truck so I can carry around the weight of that talk? :-) or did I miss something?... powerful brother... now I'm feeling really guilty that I haven't come down to sit at your table...
Let’s do it and let’s not be guilty! Let’s make the beauty blot out the guilt.
I'm glad that you shared this with us. God has blessed you with an ability to teach from such a memorable perspective. Thank you and God bless!
I'm finally becoming a catechumen on Sunday and your work has played a role in that.
You’re the man Parker!? Where is this happening?! Little by little, let’s keep going somehow. Much love and your support goes deeper than you know.
@FirstThingsFoundation St. Philothea Greek Orthodox near Athens, Ga. It's a great community. They've really welcomed me and my family and shown us hospitality.
Some of those examples of hospitality you shared cut me so deep... thank you and God bless! I'm going to visit your restaurant once all of my projects subside and I have a free weekend with my family.
I'd love to just sit and have coffee with you sometime John. Unfortunately I live on the other side of the country. I appreciate how down to earth you are, a common man (in the best sense) , without the felt need to put on airs to hyper piety. Never stop being you.
Let’s find a way. The country can be made small for us! Where shall I find you?
@@heavythingslightly if you ever find yourself in the California Central Valley, let me know!
@@feeble_stirrings Me too! 😁
