    Whatever unpleasant experiences you had to deal with coming out, you seem to have come out of it as a very normal, friendly, and likeable guy. Best wishes that you find a uniquely perfect man to share your lives together.

      Thank you so much :) the experience of growing up closeted combined with my parents being amazing people helped me to turn out this way I think. Appreciate the comment and have a good day!

    Your Happiness is the most important thing in your life. Enjoy it, for life is really short. If people are so shallow that they feel the need to make fun of you, then you don't need them in your life. We only get one life to live, live for you and that special someone. I hope you have a Great day and thanks for sharing your story to help other kids.

    Thanks for sharing your story! I remember being in your position and likewise watching coming out videos, and it's videos similar to yours that inspired me to come out in my high school yearbook quote: "I started high school with straight A's...now I'm not even straight! I'm still me, though!" And now I'm a senior in college with a biology/public health double major on the pre-genetic counseling track. We can do whatever we set our minds to!!!

      Literally at 16/17 I probably watched over 100 coming out videos haha. Hope you have a fun rest of your year finishing college. It goes by fast :)

    Second comment... I have a friend who turns 40 this year. He went to a religious high school. At the beginning of his senior year, he told his best friend he was gay. She then proceeded to (maliciously) tell everyone else. It was so bad he had to switch schools. But that wasn't the end. His religious high school invalidated all of his grades. He couldn't graduate because, on paper, he had never completed 9th-11th grade. He ended up getting his GED, but it meant he lost all of the scholarships he had earned for college because he didn't have an academic record. It took him years to recover enough to be able to attend college. This stuff isn't super far in our past.

      wow, it was really sad and hard to read that. So upsetting what they had to go through, and even more cruel that this wasn't very long ago when it happened. Glad he had the perseverance to go on and get his GED and go to college. Wishing him and you the best.

    Gunner, I can assure you your video will help anyone, gay or not, who watches this with an open mind. I am a counselor of your age group and I know from experience that this video may not only help but in some cases will save lives. And for those who to happen to be str8 it will inform them.....thanks bro..........>Ray

    Haha, I feel so old. TH-cam didn't even become a thing until a year after I graduated high school. I wasn't out in high school, but it was strange. I never responded when people would call me the eff word, but my friends always jumped to my defense by insisting I wasn't gay. Not that it didn't matter if it was, not that there was nothing wrong with it, but that of course I wasn't.
    TH-cam coming out videos.. For me, it was seeing Willow and Tara on Buffy, it was the Last Herald-Mage trilogy, it was the swaths of men and women who lived openly and proud in the decades before I came out, when it was much harder to be out.
    Being out and open, be it being gay or having a mental illness, is one of the most powerful things we can do for future generations. Thank you for being authentically you.

    • @gunnerjenrich
      @gunnerjenrich  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had the same type of friends in high school, I wouldn't react so they would always come to my defense. Happy you had good people around you.
      I feel so fortunate to have been in a generation where there was more access to things outside of the entertainment industry, like youtube coming out videos. Every year there's more and more representation which is nice to see. Thank you for taking the time to watch and write something to share your experience.
      So thankful to the generations before who made all of this possible ❤️

    I have seen many of these coming out videos on YT, but living in Britain my advice to anybody considering doing this at school here, is to think about it and be very careful. Especially in London and other areas of the country which has a great deal of "inclusivity", it also has a large degree of intolerance as well. It is not unknown for one minority group to turn against another, especially if they "disapprove"

    • @gunnerjenrich
      @gunnerjenrich  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very true, obviously be very aware of your regional differences. Safety is a huge part to be aware of. Wishing you and everyone the best since publicly making an announcement like I did can make yourself a target for sure.

    Why the F does anyone NEED to come out??? Just live your life and if anyone asks questions reply saying who the F wants to know?? I have never understood the need by gay people to broadcast their lives. Do you ever hear straight guys "coming out". What makes gay people think they are so goddamn "special" that anyone WANTS to know.
    I have NEVER come out and if people suspect who damn cares and I have lived very happily and had no drama.
    Do gay people not realise that other people JUST DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR PRIVATE LIVES.

    • @gunnerjenrich
      @gunnerjenrich  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      No one needs to come out and if someone wants to come out they can, it's not that deep. Clearly you like drama even if you've "had no drama." Have a good day lol
