    Thanks to your video I was able to fix misswire floats at a drainage pump station. Thank you so much.

    Super helpful, Roger! All the way from Kenya. Had to diagnose if my float switch was wigging out. Thanks for the help!

    Does it work for all float switch or just this one?

    • @theplctech1832
      @theplctech1832  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The float switch in this video has both normally closed and open contacts. Not all floats have that same configuration, so no, not all are the same. Some have only a NC contact or a NO contact and all have different current ratings.

      The PLC Tech Thanks a lot. I now understand the difference. Newer ones sold on Amazon all have 3 wires for both NO and NC applications. I cancelled the one from homedepot and ordered one from Amazon. I need NC for water tank filling from the lake. Your video made me realize that such a switch is not just for septic system (NO) but also for controlling the water level in a tank (NC) which is much more robust than other options I was considering. I should really than you for your very informative video.

    boss where exactly are we gonna place the red/black/white wire?

    • @theplctech1832
      @theplctech1832  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Red is the common and will be the one you would make wet or supply power to and depending on if you need to use it as a NC or a NO contact, you would connect the other wire to the device that need to see the power signal with the float toggles stays. Warning, the contacts in the flow have a current rating!

    So if you only have two wires on the float switch then you would just connect the two to the meter and toggle the switch as you did in the last step ?

    dear sir but how to connect with motor and which wire

    • @theplctech1832
      @theplctech1832  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Float switches have a contact current and voltage rating. That said, if the motor will not pull more then the AMP and voltage rating, then you can wire the float inline with the hot leg of the motor. If it is a single phase motor with only has one hot leg required to run the motor. The return/neutral leg will be wire like normal.
