      @@mumu4L he added an extension to one dread to show how to do it and then took it out. you can still see curls and fishtails at the and of the lock too so you can see it’s not an extension.

    1.can you use locking gel maintain your straight hair dreadlocks

    Also notice that your air dry your hair. Is there a reason you air dried over using hot air. My fear was that by not using a blow dryer that I was running the risk of causing dread rot or forming mold. Because moisture would have been locked into my strands.

    At least wear a bonnet at night, keeps the locs clean. Wrapping hair at night is to prevent damage, du rags and bonnets help the loc process

    Never a beanie, that’ll damage your hair. You want satin or silk textures against your strands to reduce breakage. That includes wraps, pillowcases, headrest covers. I assumed wool like beanies, those are a no. Satin beanie, yes.

    Try this. Put shampoo on the scalp and massage slightly. Then put on a stocking cap. Let stand for 1-2 hours to give shampoo time to dissolve oils and dirt. Rinse hair with stocking cap on. Remove stocking cap for final gentle rinse if all shampoo has not rinsed out. This method allows hair to remain relatively undisturbed during washing process.

      If you had locks before and saved them you can re~attach with the crochet needle, it will look like normal locs! No one will be able to tell the difference, even if you don't use the hair from saved locs. ✌🏽🤩

      I'm trying to say that you can make your locs look smoother and neater by pushing the loose hair with the crochet needle into the loc. I hope that helps. Google crochet locs maybe that will show examples and/or the benefit of using the crochet technique. I saw a video of an African loctician using the technique, if I find it I will share with you.
