The Metroid franchise is just so damn cool. The dark, strange and creepy atmosphere of the games is astounding. It's probably the best sci-fi franchise to exist in my opinion. Of course we have the Alien movies to thank, but Metroid has so many more cool aliens! Not to mention, Samus Aran's suit is LEGENDARY! I love these games.

The Prime series is fantastic. Not perfect, but very close. Prime 2 personally is my favorite because it has some of my favorite themes, bosses and Sanctuary Fortress is one of my favorite areas in a video game. It has the best atmosphere of a Metroid game only rivaled by Fusion and it is tense, challenging and exciting. Did I mention it's my favorite game of all time?

Trilogy on the Wii is my favorite game for the system. I remember getting it for my 13th Birthday, and playing the hell out of each game for months. The music of the trilogy adds to each games breathtaking atmospheres, and add a lot of nostalgia for me.

sofielundsskolan nah I think the move to orchestral was pretty smart. It fit the grander space epic theme drawing comparisons to the likes of Star Wars. With all the different planets you can go to it gave you a sense of how large the scope of the game was

The combination of setting, aesthetic, music, solitude all congealed into one big ol ball of magic that blew my 9 year old mind.

No new memorable music? That's subjective. I honestly love Corruption's music. Rundas' theme is one of my favorite boss themes.
