Our Model of Education is unique in that it blends experience-based learning and research practices. It nurtures each student’s strengths while supporting those facing complex challenges.
We firmly believe that schools are the best place for healing-centred engagement.
At the heart of our approach is the Circle of Courage. This framework nurtures each student's sense of belonging, mastery, independence and generosity. Meanwhile, Restorative Practice guides us to uphold accountability intertwined with compassion.
A therapeutic web of support provides resources to help students feel safe and empowered in our community. This way we prioritise the wellbeing of both young people and staff through healing-centred engagement.
That’s because education is not just about teaching; it’s about transformation. We walk alongside students to create safe spaces for dialogue, reflection and healing.
About our special-assistance schools:
Not all children and young people thrive in mainstream schools. Our registered and accredited independent high schools offer a flexible alternative for students in Years 9-12.
Youth Off The Streets operates six independent high schools that are registered and accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). Youth Off The Streets is also a member of the Association of Independent Schools of NSW (AISNSW) and is a Child Safe organisation.
Our schools provide a range of opportunities for young people to reconnect with education, develop life skills and build strong foundations for future careers.
