This song is where the rubber meets the road. It helps me to understand what is important in life. All those things that glitter are meaningless in the end.
I was looking for this song for decades now, and I finally found it. From the day I watched "Cadence" up to so many hours of loneliness and tribulations and happy days, I sing it from the heart of my heart. Thank you Mr. Harry Stewart for singing this from your soul.
I absolutely love this song. Helps me every time I listen to it. I've also looked for this song for years. Hope it brings peace to you as much as it does for me.
I truly love this song to my inner core. From the first time I heard it while watching Cadence, to the first time I was reintroduced to the song on youtube. I cannot help but listen and sing along at night when all are asleep and I am up with my thoughts of the day and the immediate future. Thank you Harry for singing this song so strong and with so much feeling. I so love singing this song alone. It is my wish to have this song played at my funeral.
I was touched by this song in the very same way it was such a surprise to me to see it and hear it watching Cadence cuz I wasn't ready for it... Man all I could do is think about that song and it's spiritual significance floored me.
I two have loved this song since I heard it on Cadence, I played it at my brother's funeral and it's chosen for my own, it struck a cord in me throughout my whole life, just had to acknowledge your sentiments we're the same for me.
Lord I’m feeling nervous with the next step I must take. Have I learned enough will I’ll be able to combat this demonic person that will show up. Lord I’ll do my very best and I’ll never give up. Give me the strength and the knowledge to remember what my ancestors taught me.🙏
I heard this song for the first time watching Cadence and fell in love with it! So much so, I chose to have it played at my funeral. Unfortunately my brother passed away and I had it played at his funeral this passed weekend instead. It's Really beautiful and says everything I was feeling. Thanks, Harry Stewart for such a Glorious selection!❤🖤
I just recently bought the Cadence movie on Amazon Prime. I loved this movie growing up and when this song was played in the church scene, it was so encouraging!!!! I had to download it immediately! It DEFINITELY will be a staple in my Praise & Worship music playlist!!!
Thanks Nemesis for posting the video to accompany this wonderful song, "End of My Journey", by Harry Stewart. His voice is so sweet and just dripping with emotion that he makes my head tingle with pleasure. It's a shame that we never heard more from Mr.Stewart, perhaps we will someday.
This is a beautiful song 🎵. When I heard it on the movie I said I was going to play it at my husband's funeral this was many years before he passed away. It was played for him at his funeral... 3-22-15 ♡♡♡
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (Feb. 21), we sang Bless Now, O God, the Journey as the Hymn of the Day. It was written by Sylvia G. Dunstan and set to the tune, LLANGLOFFAN, which is a 19th Century Welsh tune. It is #326 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
Although I really liked this movie...I LOVE this song! I am not one who particularly pays much attention to songs within a movie. This one sticks out. Thank you for posting this! Really a blessing...
I can't help but to sing this song, over and over, ever since I first heard it on the movie Cadence. It reaches way down in my soul. You can hear the hard life he has lived through his piercing voice. Harry has blessed so many with his gifted voice. God's paying attention and Jesus is with Harry. He is a Blessing from God.

Thank you Jesus......for bringing me out of darkness and saving my life. Thank you for the things and the people you have removed . And Thank You for the ones you have added. Thank You for the blessings you bestow upon me and Thank You for forgiving me everyday. Thank you for being my savior.
Bless you Charlie for finding this person...This song is still touching lives til today and reminding folks that God loves us and excepts all of our imperfections.....They were laid up painfully at Calvary....Thank you Jesus!!
I just watched Cadence, Ihave the dvd and watch it from time to time. this is the first time I paid attention to this song played at the end of the movie during the credits. I had to pause to get the name of this song and the performer. Really is a great song, and Mr. Stewart does one hell of a job on it, hard to have dry eyes after listening to the paying attention to the words. Thank you Mr. Stewart for this lovely piece.
This is one of those songs that when you hear it you keep it. Everytime I've gone through a trial in my life I reflect on yhe words of this song "We'll understand it better by and by"

Thank you to all who have enjoyed this channel. The creator of this channel/video's, my father had unexpectedly passed in January 2022. I will be keeping his channel active for all to enjoy including myself. My father enjoyed & loved making these videos for all to enjoy. It brought great joy to him to see all that visited and loved his channel, song selection & video's. Music was a passion that he had and loved along with being a DJ since the early 70's. Wish you all the best!! Thank You and hope you all continue to enjoy!
This was filmed at a nearby base to mine in Germany. Several of the cast members lived in our barracks just prior to filming to get a feel for the realities of military life at that time. The Berlin wall came down about this time. The racial tensions were very accurate. Complex and real. Even with those tensions, you knew beyond a doubt that when the shit went down that the man you may have hated would have your six. Its a military thing that civilians would have a hard time understanding. The part where Charlie Sheen realizes that Martin Sheen has lost his mind is movie magic. Also, the part where this song is performed and the reaction of the actors was so obviously real that it gives you the chills. What an honest and real movie. The people who cant shake this song, myself included, I liken to the people in Close encounters of the third kind that were compelled to travel to Devils tower. Never in my life have I heard a song sung with this level of honest raw emotion. Would have loved to have known the artist personally.

Beautifully done. Love this song. Bought the movie when it first came out just to be able to listen to this wonderful song over and over again. GREAT JOB!!!

This voice and this words allways move me, and i ask me everytime, did i do the best with my life or not? If'n not, so have i the time to change what i have to do??? And did i could it, i hope so i have the time for it....
Military Blues was a great movie. I'm Japanese, and it made me think about the various problems I face. Also, Young Charlie Sheen and Laurence Fishburne were great.
Thank you! It was a middling movie at best .... . I am not the least bit religious, but this performance just jumped out as devine and inspired. All these years, I have been listening to a cheap recording I made off my TV ... thinking I was the only one who noticed. Thank you again.
Certainly some things left to be desired, however, there were some incredibly powerful moments in the movie. Particularly when Charlie Sheen first showed sympathy for the man that had tormented him. This was filmed while near my base while I was stationed in Germany. The racial tensions were as complicated and real as were my experiences. You can see the reaction that the actors had to this performance in the movie. A very special moment in film to be sure.
Replying to my own message... I especially love how this post seamlessly combines the soundtrack from the movie's end credits including orchestra, then the soundtrack from the scene in the chapel (with Sweet at the piano, and the other soldiers singing along), then back to the orchestra version. Amazing. :) And confirmed, Harry Stewart is now doing well - see/hear him singing End of My Journey by searching him in 2019...

You can see the reaction that the actors had to this performance in the movie. A very special moment in film to be sure.

This song should in Harry's interpretation. The song has deep feelings for me, being far from anything that resembles perfect.

This is the very best posted version of this song... thank you!!! Also, I read that Harry Stewart is alive and well, I hope so.
Replying to my own message... I especially love how this post seamlessly combines the soundtrack from the movie's end credits including orchestra, then the soundtrack from the scene in the chapel (with Sweet at the piano, and the other soldiers singing along), then back to the orchestra version. Amazing. :) And confirmed, Harry Stewart is now doing well - see/hear him singing End of My Journey by searching him in 2019...
this is what i'm going through right now....I'm very sick so i'm ready thank you for posting this....
I pray that God blesses anyone that hears this song and draws near to him.
