Tru. The rock cutting was done almost 18 months back between ranjan gaon sarola. But they never tried to lay tracks there. There must be some reason. They must be having some kind of fear regarding rock cutting section.

I read somewhere that platform no 2 of Nagar station would be made into an island platform. There are railway quarters next to platform no 2 and they shall be demolished. But there are people living over there who are not happy/protesting. I don't know if there has been progress on this. Have these people be relocated etc. or is this going to cause delay?

Nagar station is so old/ancient/antique. Although it is a big junction, even railway stations of some villages are bigger than that of Nagar. It is neglect on part of railways to never upgrade Nagar station (this station is yet like it was in ancient British era).

There are steep ghats surrounding Pune (like the very steep Khandala Ghat, Khambataki Ghat, Sindawane ghat, Malshej, smaller ghats like Katraj ghat, steep mountain ranges between Pune-Satara- Mahabaleshwar etc.) and also major rivers like Bhima, Krishna etc. Thus geographically it is not easy to build railways or roads in and around Pune (as it is not a flat terrain).
Pune and Solapur railway divisons are know to be slow/sluggish and corrupt and thus the slow work does not come as a surprise...Also lot of land issues on this and Pune-Miraj routes

All of the progress is only because of Modiji's government. Congress party did not do anything for 50 yrs after independence. There has been immense progress on this route in past few years. Thanks to Modiji's govt. Also it is not always the govt. Land issues are out of control of Govt. There were many land issues on this route as well as Pune-Miraj route.

They have to be relocated, as Parli - Ahmednagar line is going to be completed in the following year, New platform will be necessary.

Hubali - Bangalore route var ghat section, land acquisition issue navte, Main reason Hubballi is SWR zone headquarter. So fast work was expected.

Before 2014 lots of progress was happening
