"For me the real horror in all my stories are the humans, it's not the ghosts, the ghosts may be scary for a moment but the real horror comes from a human heart and a human spirit". That statement made me understand his movies way better and honestly blew me away, because it is an incredible metaphor and show a very peculiar perception Guillermo has, this made me appreciate his work way more Grande del Toro!!!
This is one of those rare movies that you can watch several times and not get tired of. The aesthetic of the whole movie was amazing. These days they spit out so many reboots and sequels you just get tired of what's become available. And the new creations have become way to predictable. I believe this was a beautiful art piece. Wholly original.
Looks awesome, can't wait! Period movies are my jam. Atmospheric period movies are my jammer. Atmospheric period movies with Tom Hiddleston are my jammest.
Great movie! This film is a must-see for anyone interested in psychology! Special thanks to Tom Hiddleston, who perfectly conveyed the emotional throwing and despair of a man whose psyche was destroyed by an older sister from childhood. Bravo!
It's insane how close to the final product these behind the scenes footage look. The post production probably just did clean up and the print on this. Production is on point!
i loved the way that this movie was lit. the dark/light/shadow throughout was visually breathtaking. did anyone else who saw this realize that there was a reoccurring motif throughout? hallways and entrances were massively symbolic throughout this film. i really like the way the ghosts were portrayed as well. it seemed to me that there were different characteristics about each one based on the way they died (intentional, violent murder vs. natural death vs. crime of passion). any one?
I know this comment is 2 years old, but I totally agree! Movies with fascinating plots are really wonderful to watch, but this movie focused not on an entertaining plot, but on those reoccurring motifs and metaphors you mentioned, it felt like a poem to me more than it did a movie. And although this movie was horrific, odd, and unsettling, it had an unbound depth to it and is extremely unique. Its really odd, I hated it, yet I loved it? Its a work of art.
I loved this movie, the symbolism behind every scene is impressive! As a person that is easily scared, I can say that I, as Tarantino, do not consider this as a horror movie. I didn't find the ghosts or the red clay dripping from the walls that scary and ultimately this movie is about the romance not only between Edith and Thomas, but also the toxic love that Lucille has for Thomas or the love that Alan has for Edith. I honestly can't get enough of this movie. It's simply awesome!
and this film payed omage to lots of other psychological thrillers. i really enjoyed the parallels to the 6th sense (if that's what del toro was going for). it was done tastefully and tactfully! i'd go to see this in theaters again!
Amazing and magical movie. Guillermo del Toro movies are full of emotions and symbolism. *Path Labyrinth. *Mama( one of my favourites) *Devil backbone ( similar ghosts style ) Just watched today and I am blow away by this movie 🥰 Going to my list of favourite movies ever!
this was so amazing and so well done.... please check it out and see very well done Gullimero is my new favorite to watch... he has a vision we have not seen for sometime. details all over and that is what we as movie lovers look for...
I really liked this movie. It just had Guillermo all over it, so of course there's an underlying urge to look for those little details that he leaves. I really tried to keep and eye (and an ear) out l, but the main actions on screen were too engaging, especially since I just saw it my first time. Imma have to rewatch it.
I loved the film, hadn't seem very much like it before. The only thing that was a bit much for me was the very graphic violence in the end, not because it was scary or something but simply because I'm not that good with blood, so I did have to close my eyes for a few seconds every now and then. But still, yes, it was an amazing film.
"...the real horror comes from the human heart and the human spirit..." yes indeed

This is sitting right beside my copy of Tim Burton's Big Fish, two amazingly crafted Gothic romance films from two very heartfelt spooky directors.
3:06 Every Tom fangirl wishes that were them. XD
U had to hurt me like that huh🤣
Looks awesome, can't wait! Period movies are my jam. Atmospheric period movies are my jammer. Atmospheric period movies with Tom Hiddleston are my jammest.
Lmao I can relate 😂
Me too !! 💞💞

There are no words to describe just how much I love this movie. "to death" would probably do it justice in a way though.
Alice you fell down the wrong rabbit hole

It's crazy. They built a 3 story mansion in the studio. Almost everything is real. It's what makes it so visually stunning.

Exactly
3:40 That chair is awesome!!! Mia looks like a little doll.

I love Tom Hiddleston!!! 😍
Amazing movie and Tom Hiddlestone and... everything
I just came back from the cinema and I want to re-watch it! :)

I've watched this yesterday and i freakin loved it. It's twistedly perfect
Tom ♥ he's beautiful and he really suited this role
one of my all time favorite movies. so underrated
THE WAY HE SAYS "GUILLERMO DEL TORO" MAKES ME GET CRAZY♥
Tom and one of the actresses (I forget her name) goofing off made my day.
I feel like the marketing department based on the trailers was going more for horror then gothic romance.
+Stormthunderrain the film, i think, suffered for that decision

Guillermo you are a genius! Props to Tom, Mia and Jessica
and this film payed omage to lots of other psychological thrillers. i really enjoyed the parallels to the 6th sense (if that's what del toro was going for). it was done tastefully and tactfully! i'd go to see this in theaters again!
Guillermo del Toro is a ''curiosity cabinet'' all by himself
What I find cool you see in Allerdale Hall in the back round there is a vintage dress and a vintage crinoline
jessica chastain outdone all other actors by her performance,,damn her acting was so intense
Amazing and magical movie. Guillermo del Toro movies are full of emotions and symbolism.
*Path Labyrinth.
*Mama( one of my favourites)
*Devil backbone ( similar ghosts style )
Just watched today and I am blow away by this movie 🥰
Going to my list of favourite movies ever!

I loved this movie, I felt so bad for Loki.
Te amo Tom
2:39 Though. HAHAH.
DEL TORO IS REAL GENIUS!!!!
Nha kich ban va dao dien rat tuyet voi
5:03 damn
Tom was so young back then, yet his words sound like they’re straight out of a book.
I came to watch bts because the film upset me so much I just needed to see the actors not dead 😭
2:44 ✨

At 2:43 I was kinda scared. Lucille smiling. Something’s not right.
Es como si Guillermo hubiera pensado el título en español, por que "La Cumbre Escarlata" suena mil veces mejor que "The Crimson Peak"
how do you make the gohost
+Mark Lewis 1. Kill someone. 2. Profit?
2:41😂
1:47 Blood and gore everywhere but "Crimson Peak should not be confused with a horror film". Yeah nice try. 😒
👍
Just saw it, the movies was great but the ending kinda "meh". The casts just superb
+Dody Widodo i loved it but i felt the romance after the marriage could've been made more intensified
Sorry to say mate, but it's definitely a horror film 😂
