The Honda SP160 is available in two variants: Single Disc and Double Disc. The Single Disc variant costs Rs 1,17,500 and the Double Disc variant costs Rs 1,21,900 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
The SP160 is powered by a 162.71cc, single-cylinder engine producing 13.4PS and 14.58Nm. The engine is counterbalanced and complies with BS6.2 emission norms. Transmission duties are handled by a five-speed gearbox.
The suspension setup consists of a telescopic fork and a monoshock. The Honda SP160 gets a 276mm front and 220mm rear petal disc brake setup for the Dual Disc variant and a 130mm rear drum brake for the Single Disc variant with single-channel ABS. It has a seat height of 796mm, a ground clearance of 177mm and a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres. The kerb weight is 139kg and 141kg for the Single Disc and Dual Disc variants respectively.
The Honda SP160 rivals the Bajaj Pulsar P150, Yamaha FZ-S FI V4 and the TVS Apache RTR 160.
In terms of design, the Bajaj Pulsar N150 closely resembles the Bajaj Pulsar N160. It retains the signature bodywork, featuring a sharp LED projector headlight, halogen indicators, LED tail light, and a tyre hugger. Notable differences include the usage of a single-piece grab rail and a single-piece seat.
The Bajaj Pulsar N150 shares its powerplant with the Bajaj Pulsar P150. This engine churns out 14.5PS of power and 13.5Nm of torque. The mechanical components mirror those of the P150, including a telescopic fork, rear monoshock, front disc brake, and a rear drum brake. Even the alloy wheel design remains the same. The instrument cluster is also borrowed from the P150, offering real-time mileage and average mileage indicators, along with a distance-to-empty gauge and other essential information.

Everything top notch but honda doesnt provide paper engine oil filter in these engines. Which makes the engine technology decades old in honda 160 series engine. even sp125 is equipped with paper oil filter.

Mujhe bhi pulsar 150 pasand hai per abhi bhi Bajaj ya koi bhi indian brand japanese jitna reliable aur smooth nehi hai. Pulsar ka resale value bhi achha nehi hai. Baaki design, built quality, performance mein sabse best brand hai bajaj as indian brand.

Yeh bhi sach hai ki reliability owner ki maintenance par bhi depend karta hai woh koi bhi brand ka hi kyu na ho. Remind one thing that Bajaj has collaborated with 4 foreign brands and they definitely share technology i.e. Kawasaki, KTM, Husqvarna and Now Triumph. So don't worry about reliability.

Dominar jaise top level all rounder bike banaya jo mere favourite hai per wohi ki long term mein kaise perform karenge usko leke concerned hoon. Baaki mein Bajaj jitna 150cc mein power deta hai woh mere liye more than sufficient hai kyun ki mein bike dhere chalata hoon. Max 70 to 80 hai mera speed NH mein. 70 to 80 mein smooth cruising ke liye bas 150cc ki tarf dekhna padta hai warna 125cc bikes mere liye perfect hai.

Looking at Bajaj's track record, they will take atleast 6 months or a year to listen to people. And then people will switch to other bikes in segment. Go for N160 because Bajaj has once more managed to disappoint people by giving them a great bike but no rear disc brake. Same shit happened with NS160, they gave it a rear disc brake and 120 mm thick tyre after 2years of its launch and made a joke out of NS200 by not giving it dual channel ABS for 4years. Even 250 twins got dual channel ABS after nearly 1 year.Till that time it flopped so bad Bajaj brought back 220f to do damage control 😂which it did surprisingly in terms of sales.
So yes go for N160 as it gets single channel ABS variant with rear disc brake and dual channel ABS variant also at 1.30lakhs.

Unicorn sells much more than Pulsar 150 while SP125 sells way more than Pulsar 125. There is no need to doubt why SP160 won't repeat the sales success of its other brethren, IMO.

Bajaj just manages to disappoint people in new ways . First they took 2yrs to give a rear disc brake in NS160 with 120 section tyre, then they took more than 5years to give dual channel ABS in NS200 , they also botched up the Pulsar 250 twins at launch itself by not giving it dual channel ABS variant even as option. Only when people cried about it that's when they gave it finally that too after a year atleast.
And now they have managed to bring the best beginner sports commuter bike for people on budget at 1.17 lakhs and it doesn't get a rear disc brake even as option 😏.
Any practical man will just look at Sp160 as a good budget option right now since it gets a rear disc brake with fat rear tyre 130mm thickness. I mean I hated the SP160 just like everyone else but atleast it has everything needed in a beginner bike or everyday sports commuter on budget under 1.5lakhs.
Bajaj will take 6months or 1year atleast to give it rear disc brake and then it will be a failure again just like 250 twins .
I will check out the SP160 since I am not a 18yr old college kid 😅to get floored by Bajaj and not see the obvious red flag .
