- This original version from 1973 is almost identical to the later version except for a reference to the stock market and the Dow-Jones at the 2:10 mark, which is missing in the more recent version. Also found in this LP is the original version of "Can We Just Stop And Talk A While", which is longer and begins with a spoken intro.

I was newly married when this song came out but I only heard it for the first time a month ago. It is fantastic. It must not have been played much in the US in the 70s.
It 's a fantastic song..but its fame stayed in the Philippines due to the lack of Worldwide Web in those days..should there be a TH-cam in that time.. this song could have been a Worldwide hit like the Gangnam Style.. LOL..
For me the song is his best composition. Very original and far beyond compare with literary content. A record interpreted by the same writer. Great Chinese-Filipino talent.

"DOW-JONES" is correct.. it is something referring to stock market.. If you notice the lyrics says" fluctuations on the market scene" and so it make sense then followed by .."fill my dow-jones" with every beam...." i love jose mari chans songs and compositions.. very pleasant voice...he's a music genius !!
