I truly love majority of the songs of Cliff Richard. I have enjoyed all his movies. I was 14 then and now am 73. I still enjoy listening and singing his songs.

To me Cliff and the Shadows are the best and most . successful on the British music scene not the Beatles.Very good songs like lucky lips,when a girl in your arms,suddenly,only you,ocean deep,two to the power of love,all i ask of you could not get a No.1 spot.Also,its not that Cliff failed to impress in America as you've been putting it.Its that the Americans by their deeds show clearly that Cliff was a threat and they did not want him over their Elvis

Reading the lovely comments it seems I am one of the younger ones of those listening to him. I was a teenager when I started to listen to his songs and I saw some of his films too. I am 52 now. They are sweet melodies that never go old because they are kind songs and touch the heart.

Let's see how accurate my memory is. If I recall correctly, when I was a high school junior or senior back in 1962-1963, Cliff was in the movie "Summer Holiday." I noticed the title of this song on the album cover shown here. Am I correct about both the song and the movie, also titled "Summer Holiday?" Cliff definitely has a beautiful voice. I don't think he has ever received the notoriety and positive acclaim he so rightly earned.
