What a stunning environment! Johannesburg is unique, it offers quiete and cozy place for those in need of a tranquile and outdorsy atmosphere. And, hustling and bustling life for those that like vibrant life. Well done LivinSAtv, and a big thumb up to the Gentleman with dreadlocks, he is such a great guide! Greetings from Angola
This is so true, I was in a taxi the other day and was shocked when 2 passengers started throwing plastic bottles out the window and justified their actions by saying “Joburg(cbd) is dirty anyway”
It is a wonderful place to visit. I jog past there often in the morning. Unfortunately, this video does not detect a Sunday afternoon or Monday morning.
Thanks David, my husband and I used to come here round 74/75!!! When I see that some spots in Jo'burg and Pretoria are being cared for I feel so happy.
@@roblucci2366 I grew up here and I am living in Pretoria I use to go to parks a lot but post 1994 they gradually became horrible and not safe at all. You see all sorts of scary staff and people in the parks
As much as Apartheid was cruel to black South Africans, it built world class infrastructure, hope we get the right government to make this country work for all and fix the mess we see at Zoo Lake
Don't lie. This was developed by National Parks and Local Johannesburg City Parks way post apartheid. You like to exaggerate apartheid development. With no shame.
The poorly maintained current Zoo Lake was established in 1908 the land was given to the Johannesburg Town council to build the Johannesburg Zoo and a Park around an artificial lake! The fountain was built to commemorate the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, hence it was called the coronation fountain
@@wahwah7701so are you telling me the ANC government built every road in this country and returned them to potholes. Go ask around how old the rail, water and electricity infrastructure is.
So sad to see - more garbage on the lawns and in the lake than in the bins. "Private initiative" benches and gardening, which should be done by City Parks.
Whenever we had a chance to leave camp we'd arrive at Zoo Lake all six, seven of us. Grab a Little boat and row around eating ice-cream and splashing each other and sometimes dunking each other. I never forget I was thrown over board and landed on a submerged rock and a jaggered piece got stuck in my foot. And it bleed quite a lot my girlfriend jumped into the water with me, lead me to the side ,just we I now saw the geese swimming. hah. and she skillfully remove the jaggered peace of stone from my foot...Hah. She save a wounded soldiers life... Hahaha. I does bring back memories...On the other hand the sadness is, nowhere is one save in Joburg. leave alone in the rest of South Africa. Very sad indeed. As I've been to places, where now U won't get 10paces either mugged or murdered....😢

Keep them coming 🔥 glad im a subscriber 🙏🙏🙏
Yes I've been here a couple of times and only this past weekend I discovered that there's a big swimming pool😮😂
Very sad indeed. I agree that littering is a big problem in SA especially by our black folks and that's a fact.

White people litter too. Don’t turn this into a race thing
I agree. I'm Black and hate littering with every fibre of my being. Our people are enemies of progress.
Why though do you think? How do we change it?
@@neilwzavery true they do the same and also let there dogs shit everywhere and don't think/care about others!

Wonderful 🎉 I never thought there are still public parks in Gauteng
There are many public parks in Pretoria with even free wifi voucher offered.
Lol have you been around Gauteng?

@@Lydia-d6k my word have you gone outside since apartheid ended?
Hi David. I enjoy your content. Quick question in all the estate youve visited which would you say its your top 3. Thanks
I've enjoyed many a delicious meal at the Zoo Lake Restaurant!! And used to go for walks with our Bouvier! She loved to run!
Please do the new shosholoza meal trains next
Definitely not the most beautiful park in Joburg, Have you been to Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens ?
That’s a botanical garden. Not a public park like Zoo Lake

Infrastructure was built by our government. That Infrastructure is not 30 years old it's way younger.

I didn't see that, where do you see that in this video. Or you only want to be negative.
