My brother fell off a latter and for four days it looked like he was going to recover and then he had a massive brain bleed and died. He did have Extreme Unction & Viaticum. He was the caregiver for his wife, Sue who has dementia (Alz) & she is a closet alcoholic. She had been staying at her daughters in Chicago but kept wanting to get back to FL. I told them it is because she has total access to the alcohol here and can go to her room which has a setting area and sit and drink 1-2 large bottles of champagne. Her daughter from Colo picked her up in Chicago and brought her to Fl for the month of June. She was good when she got here as she did not have free access to alcohol but in two days you could see the difference even on her face as it really affects her mentality. The one daughter was deciding on whether to quit her job and care for her Mom. After seeing how fast she has drank and mentally declined the daughter said that probably her mom would get so bad that she would need a nursing home in a year. Deidre would have then given up her dream job and be stuck 35miles from the nearest town to find work. I live in the garage apartment so this affects me. Also they do not have the means to pay me the money my brother borrowed from me in 2010. I do not know why you can't get my messages as everyone else does. I hope you get this message. Lord Jesus, I humbly pray for myself, Father Mike, & all the people participating in the Bible-in-Year podcast. May your word take deep root in our hearts & transform our ways of thinking, deciding, and acting. May your grace open our ears to hear & understand God's voice in the Scriptures that we may revere & treasure both the Old & the New Testaments which God has prepared for all who desire to enter his kingdom. Send us your Holy Spirit to give us the Spirit of Knowledge, that we may know God and know ourselves. Give us the grace to approach the Word of God with meekness & humility, & with an eagerness to do everything God desires. Help us to be diligent students & faithful disciples of your Word. May our hearts never grow dull & may our ears never tire of listening to your voice. Amen.
Day 162 - today Monday June 10th, 2024 June is dedicated to The Sacred Heart Of Jesus ❤❤❤❤❤❤ A divided kingdom - not good at all. Like the saying says united we stand, divided we fall. I am redoing The Bible in a year podcast for the third time 🎉❤ because I can not have enough of it. Thank you Father Mike Schmitz and Ascension press 🙏💙❤ God bless you all. Deo gratias ❤❤❤
Lord, We thank you for your Word and the wisdom it brings. May we always come to you first for discernment and second to those in our lives blessed with your wisdom. Lead us away from what our itching ears want to hear and immerse us in your truth and mercy. Thank you for wooing us and giving us the gift of marriage. Help us to see the beauty in relationships. Show us how to display your sacrificial love. 🙏🏻
So much to remember and understand I would never have been able to get this understanding from reading the Bible alone, thank you Fr. Mike for explaining it so well. Amen
Very interesting! Thank you Father Mike for your dedication to providing these bible readings to us. Of course, without your explanation I would be lost. I am learning so much.
Firstly can I say 'thank you' to whoever decided this series should remain available after the initial 365 days - I am currently on day 162 - in 2022 - and I am so grateful that I can do this; of course I can do as many 'days' in a day as I have time to - and it is with great gratitude to Father Mike for making those totally incomprehesible names sound both intelligable and even - almost - interesting!! Father Mike your lessons at the end are insightful, wise and beautiful -I must say it is impressive to find such wisdom in one so young! I still find parts hitting my 'cynacism' button (eg. Lot and his daughters - in general the treatment of women actually) but I am trying really hard not to use a 21st century mind to be nit picky about the real message of God's love for His people. And if He didn't respect women He wouldn't have created us - right? Thanks Father Mike - you and the 'Bible in a Year' community wherever they may be are in my daily prayers. God bless you and keep you.
Day 162..the divided kingdom, what a shame but really was necessary. You'd thought that the Israelite's would have learned from sacrificing to the Golden calves.. It appeared that Rehoboam did what was pleasing in the eyes of the Lord..too bad this was only temporary 😢 Prayers for Father Mike and all the BIY family 🙏❤
Thanks for the prayers and I am praying for all of BIY & Fr. Mike also. My niece is here with her mother Sue, who has dementia. I guess Sue is choosing the alcohol instead of her sanity. She is not suppose to drink with her medication or drive. Her daughter was deciding whether to give up her job in Colo which she loved and stay in FL to care for her mother. With Sue declining so fast from the alcohol she does not think it is safe for her mother to live in FL where she has free reign to the alcohol and also is fighting about it even after drinking two bottle a day of champagne. She also keeps fighting about driving. They arrived on June 5 and I can really notice a big decline in her mental state. Deidre is going to stay the month of June and then go back to Colo. Sue is making her own choice but it is so sad.😢🙏
