Tile plows are only good for pattern tiling. They offer no way of telling what you have crossed. I've put in hundreds of thousands of feet of tile in my day, trenchers are the way to go! And for God sakes, get a CAT backhoe, with a smooth edge bucket
Problem with trenchers are upkeep a plow has barely any upkeep and you'll have to pot hole the field to find the old lines and patch them where you cross with the new one, if you do that you'll be way ahead in time and material compared to with a old trencher
@@ThatManJacob you can't find ALL of the old lines. We do a lot of tile searching be we start tiling too, but still occasionally cross lateral lines. And the trencher will leave a nice pile of peaces for me, if it's clay or concrete. Plastic can get stuck on a tooth and travel with the machine for a little ways, but that's not to often. But you are right about the upkeep. We run a chain machine, and yes it is a lot of wear. Plus there's backfill that'll have to be done.
@@joelhayes4085 spade teeth are better than standard teeth, but not better than a smooth edge. Yes cost per foot is less, so is quality of job. You cross old tile and don't even know it. We see the pieces and fix it.
