I believe Bon Jovi voice stopped being as good as it was 2013 because of A. constantly touring without breaks and so much touring and not having a really good technique to keep up with his voice 2020 during quarantine gave his voice a rest and 2021 his voice is getting back to what it was in 2010-2013 he may never sound as amazing as he did back in 1987-mid 2000s but for his age he’s surely trying and with enough vocal training by the time he goes back on tour he may sound good for his age
@@alanzata100 Lost Highway and Bounce tours had some great setlists too. That semi-acoustic version of Something to Believe in they sometimes did during the Bounce tour was something else.
This song and performance just flat out kicks ass. I remember the first time I heard it at a “Blockbuster Music” store that was offering a sneak peak of it in their store before release. They had some headphone listening stations and I hung out for 2 hours and listened to These Days twice though.
This is one of those songs where the rhythm guitar really makes a difference. Performances of this song from the TD and Crush tours sound a bit empty during the big parts where Richie is playing the main riff.
These days was released so much later when new younger fans started to find them as us kids were then now grown-ups by the time this was released. I think because when Alec left they had trouble at first replacing him until finally Jon found the new guy also John. People were mad. They were almost burnt out at that point. It was a mess. But I absolutely love this album. Kinda like how 7800 Fahrenheit really wasn't appreciated. This album I now can't remember if it was right after he did or before he did blaze of glory solo wo the band. But nevertheless theses days lyrically is deep and fantastic and it stayed timeless. That's not easy. Especially losing the Alec the drugs Ritchie ready to leave. I mean these guys had Been writing releasing and touring since 84 almost every year to that point. I'm surprised Jon didn't break his voice sooner as he puts a hell ofa show on and in the 80s till 2000 concert venues would let them play past noise curfews and went 3 hours or more with 3 oncores min. I mean they didn't stop. So I agree with most of what u said but not the TD part and the Crush album. That to me was when I stopped really following them . I went cost me 245 for one seat before smart phones my little flip phone has him coming down to me singing I still have it bit can't retrieve off of it as they had no ability like that back then so nevertheless the prices just kept going up and the music I started to dislike . Which being that from the girl that covered her whole ceiling room walls and door posters back then were on the front and back of my door. I still have those. Lol but after crush I kissed him bye pretty much . Just couldn't get past one maybe 2 songs. His new stuff this house isn't for sale now that's a good one. But still I have never listened to the entirety off it. 🙃
@Steven y'all are still giving John a hard time? Really? He's proved himself time and time again now all these years we are just pissed Alec left. They were big shoes to fill. And he filled them and excelled and became a brother. Get over it already when was that like 1992 come on now the 3 of u that commented on John shanks. Smfh I don't see Ur arses up there playing

One of my favourite songs of Bon Jovi. I didn´t know it till I started to look for more and more information about this group on the Internet, I was amazed when I found this amazing song. A powerfull ballad. Great performance.

What a fucking BOSS Jon was in 2010, both vocally and as a frontman. Still so youthful, strong and vibrant...
Literally a different person from today.
Agree, I’d even say 2011 was a great year, 2013 had some good moments.
Setlist wise 2010-2013 shows had the best set lists
It's shocking to hear how he sounds here compared to 2013
I think his voice got bad after he stopped smoking. My brother stopped smoking and in two years time his voice was also bad and he doesn't sing.

What a great performance. I miss this constellation of this band. The king of swing is surely missed.

And this is why they both need each other. Crazy to see this compared to where we are now.
Amen.
On the other hand, Jon couldn't get Richie to sober up.
And Richie sure as hell couldn't fix what Jon's voice is now.
Dude, Richie was on fire! ♥

@Steven Bandiera was a lot less invisible and robotic than Shanks.
Dave covered up parts of the song on the keyboard

Wow! Great version, Jon's voice was still quite powerful in 2010.
I was there. Great set list and in my opinion the last great Bon Jovi tour that probably should have been their farewell tour.
Althought Jon isn't as good anymore they have still produced some good tunes since 2010.
This live and mtv music awards '95 my favorites!❤

LYRICS:
Hey God, I'm just a little man
I got a wife and family
I almost lost my house
I bought into the dream
We're barely holdin' on and I'm in way too deep
We're two paychecks away from livin' out on the street
She's a workin' single mom
Like a saint, she don't complain
She never says a word but she thinks that she's to blame
Her son just got convicted
He blew some cop away
She did her best to raise him but the world got in the way
Hey God
Tell me what the hell is goin' on
It seems like all the good shit's gone
It keeps on gettin' harder hangin' on
But hey hey hey hey God
There's nights you know I want to scream
These days you're even harder to believe
I know how busy you must be
But hey hey hey hey God
Do you ever think about me
Born into the ghetto, 1991
Just a happy child playin' beneath the summer sun
A vacant lot's his playground
By 12 he's got a gun
The odds are bet against him
Junior don't make 21
Hey God
Tell me what the hell is goin' on
It seems like all the good shit's gone
It keeps on gettin' harder hangin' on
But hey hey hey hey God
There's nights you know I want to scream
These days you're even harder to believe
I know how busy you must be
But hey hey hey hey God
Do you ever think about me
I get down on my knees
I'm gonna try this thing your way
I seen a dyin' man to proud to beg
Spit on his own grave
Was he too gone to save
Or did you even know his name
Are you the one to blame
I got something to say
Hey God
Tell me what the hell is goin' on
It seems like all the good shit's gone
It keeps on gettin' harder hangin' on
But hey hey hey hey God
There's nights you know I want to scream
These days you're even harder to believe
I know how busy you must be
But hey hey hey hey God
Do you ever think about me
Do you ever think about me

Was this one of the last live performances for this song?
played quite a bit the following summer (2011) too during the European tour.
It was played a few more times in 2011 and once in 2013 I believe but that’s it, so kind of, yeah.
It was the last performance in 2010 (only played twice that year). 6 more performances in 2011 and one in 2013 were to follow.
Understandable, it isn't an easy song to sing.
Better than wembley 95 version 💞
