Freaking love Torey. I'm glad Nick gave him those chances. Sure seems like Torey is a super smart guy with his business. Super cheerful and always having signings, always giving back to the kids, and just being an all around good dude.
I've met and talked to him a couple of times and he's insanely nice.

***** I need help with shuvits, like they are perfect as well as my pop shuvs, they are like 23 feet high but my back foot always stays on the ground!
umm well first you don't need to go like 23 feet in the air, you don't need to go high at all. so when you shove just hop a little and when I shove it I lift my front foot and when you shove it you don't push you back foot down you push back then up then forward but do all that fast and don't push the skateboard with your front foot at all just lift it then put it on the skateboard.

To be honest everytime I see people like Torey or Nicky Diamond I admire their ideas but I myself as a person feels that we as skaters we can avoid having our skater owned companies becoming something owned by a corporation or under a chain by people who don't understand the value and purity of skateboarding! If skateboarding could live through all these years of being small companies like 101 and shut and Powell Perelta this upcoming generation can make it happen! that's how I myself see my own personal brand endeavors for skateboarding. I always want to keep it to where any kid could see a board or shirt or even video I make to say this is what skateboarding truly is about. It's not about Nike it's about not the X games it's about keeping it in the hands of people who use skateboarding to get away from the bullshit of society while having fun

You know, I watch these videos in this day and age and I can't help but
feel something is missing. In the 90s, most of the videos were a
compilation of friends skating and if they got a trick, yeah let's film
it, put it in. But, today it just looks like a job, like the fun is
sucked out of it, like it's lost its soul or something, I don't know.
Maybe Heath Kirchart was right, at some point in time it stopped being
about skating with your friends and it became just another business with
clients you shop with.
I think people look over how smart Tpuds is
this makes me want to start a brand and open up a store tbh.

+Nick Carty he's been on for like 10 years... dvs filed for bankruptcy a couple years ago was bought by a different corporation. there is forum talk going all the way back to 2010 talking about a dvs / diamond footwear partnership, but i can't seem to figure out whether diamond has the same parent company as dvs now or not. industry changes happen fast
