Every day Vingegaard get stronger as he user the early stages to continue to improve his fitness. He is biding his time and will put Pogacar and Remco to the test in the high mountains. Should be an epic battle!
The possibility exists that Remco was trying to goad Vingegaard off his game and induce him to forget his tactical plan. But Mr. V is too smart for that.
Why go in a break and if it is your turn to pull you disengage? Go back to the peleton instead and be pulled by the bunch. Don’t join breaks if you just want to be pulled. Disgusting.
He wasn’t joining anyone, just trying to not lose time on a stage that doesn’t suit him. There is nothing disgusting about Jonas V. In fact the only who’s been giving Super Tadej a run for his money these last years. And he’s a gentleman.

Remco animates the races. I loved what he did in the Vuelta after his bad day. I really like his aggression.
I appreciate the cerebral appraoch that Jonas brings to his races. The gravel didn’t suit a lightweight rider, so he didn’t try to win the race on a day that didn’t suit him. He will attack on a stage that suits him better.
Pogi is fantastic! A balance of Remco’s aggression and Jonas’ strategy. I love watching him too.

Jonas was half dead just a few months ago, showing up at the tour just shows how big his palle are…Remco really shouldn’t be so disrespectful. Forget Jonas and Tadej, frankly I’m pretty sure Primoz will pull ahead of him…he always does…

Remco in same interview as a balls said: " I totally accept the reasons why he didn’t pull, why he didn’t race but of course Tadej and I both like to attack pretty far away from the finish and we wanted to continue, but Jonas is sometimes a bit more defensive. We have to accept it, he will have lots of good reasons to race like this so also I completely understand why."

Big brains. What will the pundits be saying if Jonas drops the rest on a big high altitude climb in the 3rd week? Jonas and the VL strategy got into the heads of the other GC guys. As a bike racer myself, this is perfectly played.
I agree with you but let's not forget the quality of Pogacar and the strenght of his team.

@@gdionwood Yes, that is why there would be no shame in Jonas not winning yellow this year…especially after what he (and his team) have been through.
The whole issue with these comments has been made way bigger than it meaningfully is. Tadej and particularly Remco wanted to work as a three and Jonas correctly declined. Everyone just did what was logical for them. It doesn't mean anyone has some kind of psychological edge or there is any huge issue. Ditto Pogi not having more time. So what? As long as Vingegaard is 90%+ the Tour will be decided in the high mountains anyway.
Takes both tactics and strength to win.

Aboslutely agree with the peloton. Remco just doesn't understand cycling and Jonas did exactly what any clever rider would have done.
also Pogacars comment made me think that he didnt learn from his 2 years ago mistakes, i kinda hope now that he will have a bad day due to all his attack in the first 2 weeks (i expect him to attack tomorrow too). then Vingegaard can tell everyone in his interview that maybe now Evenepoel and Pogacar understand better how to ride tactically. i think it shows more balls to not ride with Pogacar and Evenepoel, cuz i think it is against someones nature to do what Vingegaard did when they were up front.

It’s already stage 10 and we’re almost halfway to the finish line. Pressure will keep on mounting on team Visma and Jonas as the days pass..
I think the pressure seems to be more on the guys doing all the talking. Visma had a very bad pretour so they didn't come with expectations to be the best team in the tour. Right now what you are seeing is a team that is seasoned measuring its output.

Remco knew Jonas was not on his own bike!! Soudal DS was saying over the radio "remember Jonas is not on his own bike" and then Remco attacked. Remco is lacking sportsmanship and Pogi to some extend as well.

Well, big balls is not a bad thing to have, but you will never come out on top without an equal measure of big brains! Let's not kid ourselves: Usually boisterous and rowdy people have neither. Having said that, I don't know about Remco, but Tadej and Jonas have plenty of both, and Remco is dreaming if he thinks he can outdo either of those 2.
They where at 2600 already on the galibier. Let's just hope Tadej is human and will feel the giro. Although i doubt it 😅

I'm not out to win, I'm a spectator. I just want an entertaining race. So far it's been pretty good overall. An overly conservative tactical race can be boring sometimes. So I hope things stay on the spicy side.
