Fun fact: Both teams that lost in the semifinals crossed a ball in from the left side and headed it off the crossbar. Ohio State with 38:48 left in the first half. Denver with 38:54 left in the first half.
The worst part is that each college can choose to count up or count down with the NCAA rules, and most count down. Thankfully, some schools like West Virginia have some sense and count up.
Watching this as a non-American. I mean, that was good football (yes I said it) for a college level. But, count-down clock that can be stopped, more than one player/team with captain arm band, OT instead of Extra Time, Next Goal Wins. I mean, America really has a problem with following the rest of the world and would rather have their own regulations.
And many of these players are from outside of America and chose to come here and play NCAA soccer, so what's your point? Just stay in your lane and appreciate the game you love. I don't go looking for your country, or the way American sports are played in your country, and lecture you about every quirk. Not to mention that our pro level doesn't have these features.
@@jaredp8874 My comment came from a place of love, bro. Yes many foreign young players go to the US to play in the NCAA, but you need to understand that those players the NCAA are getting aren't the top players in their own countries (while the US can get the world's top talents in others fields, say science & entertainment). Take Vermont's Adrian Schulze, who moved to NCAA after failing to break into the rotation of a German fourth division team, or the top scorer Emil Jaaskelainen (Akron) who played in England's 9th division after being cut from a third division's youth team before moving to the US. You may wonder also why the US national team has been performing poorly in international football, but most of the top players are those who, instead of playing at collegiate level with such unique regulations, opted to move to Europe since the age of 18-19 or even decided to play directly in MLS Next Pro, which better prepared them to play internationally compared to the NCAA. But thats my personal opinion, & you're completely entitled to yours.
PLEASE BRING BACK 30 ( 2-15 MINUTE HALVES) MINUTE OVERTIME NO GOLDEN GOAL, THEN PLAY 20( 2 - 10S)MINUTES GOLDEN GOAL,& THEN PENALTIES.OTHERWISE ,SINCE THE GAME HAS IMPROVED WITH VIDEO ASSISTANCE REPLAY, IF WE KEEP SEEING EVERY GAME DECIDED ON PK'S IT TAKES AWAY THE THRILL OF THE GAME AND BECOMES SOMETHING ELSE ALL TOGETHER, LIKE ARENA FOOTBALL OR RUGBY. THIS IS FOOTBALL OR SOCCER. THE GAME IS MEANT TO BE PLAYED TO WIN, NOT TO SEE WHO MAKES A MISTAKE IN PENALTIES. IT'S SO ANTI CLIMATIC IN MY OPINION. DON'T GET ME WRONG, IT HELPS IF NO ONE SCORES, BUT AT SOME POINT YOU HAVE TO ASK YOURSELF, "WHY HAVE SUBS IF THEY NEVER PLAY?" THIS LONGER OVERTIME ENCOURAGES TEAMS TO HAVE DEEPER BENCHES, AND ACTUAL STRATEGIES IN OVERTIME, INSTEAD OF JUST PLAYING NOT TO LOSE UNTIL PENALTIES...ANYONE CAN PARK THE BUS FOR 20 MINUTES, BUT NOT AS EASILY FOR 30, LET ALONE 50 EXTRA MINUTES EITHER VS JUST 20..THINK ABOUT IT, ALL PLAYERS DO IS RUN IN TRAINING OUR WHOLE LIVES, TO THEN PLAY JUST 2O MINUTES EXTRA AFTER 90 DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL..THIS IS WHY PLAYOFF HOCKEY CAN BE SO GOOD, AND EXTRA INNINGS IN BASEBALL, ALTHOUGH THERE'S ALWAYS A FEW DRAGGER(S) GAMES, USUALLY IT MAKES THE GAME MUCH MORE EXCITING..2O MINUTES SUCKS.MORE TO ME. AN ACTUAL OVERTIME COULD CREATES MORE ADVERTISING REVENUE UPSIDE FOR ESPN, NCAA, LIVE STREAMS, ETC..AND WHAT ARE THESE PLAYERS BEING SAVED FOR? THEY'RE NOT PROS AND MAJORITY OF PLAYERS WON'T PLAY PRO ANYWAY, AND THOSE WHO DO, IT'S BETTER TO PLAY ACTUAL 30 -50 MINUTE OVERTIMES, AND WOULDN'T IT BE SO GOOD IF THEY BROUGHT IT BACK? PLUS YOU CAN SUBSTITUTE NOW MORE ANYWAY AS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO..WITH DOUBLE OVERTIME..I'M SO SICK OF SO MANY PK'S...THESE GUYS AND GALS ARE IN THE BEST SHAPE OF THEIR LIVES, AND WOULD MOTIVATE COACHES TO RECRUIT BETTER AND HAVE DEEPER BENCHES, INSTEAD OF TEAMS LIKE NORTH CAROLINA WOMEN WHO CAN JUST SAY, HEY WE'RE HOSTING NEXT YEAR, COME TRANSFER IN AND THEY WIN WITH 12 TRANSFERS... AND I LOVE THEY WAY THEY PLAY TOO, AND OLIVIA WAS AWESOME WITH HER FREE KICK!!I MEAN I HOPE THEY WIN AGAIN NEXT YEAR!!THEY PLAY SO WELL TOGETHER!! BACK TO THE MEN,AND WTF IS WITH THE MAN BRAS? PLEASE FUCKING STOP,JUST I CANT.
WOW! Good luck in the finals, VT, and great season Denver!

Pens are always a brutal way to go

No one in the stadium cheered enough for Sam's incredible goal both in regulation or in Shootouts!

Amazing game.
Was that...two...first half highlights? Jees.

Can’t wait for Sam Bassett to join his brother here at the Rapids! Up the Pids!
Denver choked so bad. But, keep your heads up!
Vermont is a really good team. They beat the 2, 3 and 7 seeds so far. Time to give them their do. Probably should have been seeded.
VT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Cats!
Where is the other SF?
Vermont is going to win on the final
Nah
Would be a great story if they win the Final, but you already know the refs gonna get paid for Ohio State to win it.
Ohio state lost to Marshall 1-0
Nice! It’s going to be a great Finals match. The refs will play fair with two underdog teams fighting it out…

Jesus loves you-!
If you watch the game, there was a handball on Vermont player in the 1st half, Denver should of got a free penalty kick!
Refs missed multiple calls for both teams all night
