    I was a Protestant newly converted in my mid twenties when I saw St John Paul 2…now in my mid sixties I am a newly ordained Catholic priest. I thank the great Saint for all he has done for so many of us.

    For a moment, you got me amazed when you said in part 1 that the sower was a careless farmer...thanks for the explanation here...Jesus was gratuitous in sowing the word to different categories of people confirming to me that he came not only for the righteous but everyone.

      re: "you said in part 1 that the sower was a careless farmer" He didn't say that. He said that that's how first century Jews would have heard it.

    Okay, you need to know how wheat is sown. It is not drilled into the soil a seed at a time. It is broadcast. Tossed out by the hand full. Jesus is absolutely on track with this analogy. He came to broadcast the Word, His Word.

    • @GazGuitarz
      @GazGuitarz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fortunately, there are not many non-Catholic Christians who hold onto that misconception. While my evidence is only anecdotal, I personally don't know of any Christians who believe or teach that salvation cannot be lost. It is quite clear scripturally that it can be!
      Of course in TV land and within the "progressive/emerging" mega-churches, there are those such as Kenneth Copeland and his ilk, who tickle the ears of their flocks while preaching the false prosperity gospel. It is nothing to these fraudulent church "leaders" to add to their already lengthy list of lies, by promoting even more lies regarding the salvation of their followers.
      These frauds will say and do anything to keep their flocks seduced and enslaved, as they don't want to lose the tithing money and donations that pay for their private jet planes and overly indulgent mansions and lifestyles. They are masters of manipulating emotions and using human weaknesses (ie: greed) to control their gullible. spiritually immature flocks.
      I'm not familiar with the doctrines of more traditional Protestant denominations (Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist etc..) nor their teachings, so I'm not able to comment on where they stand on this issue. Suffice to say that all of the Christians that I engage with, both in real life and online, do not believe in the "once saved, always saved" lie.
      Be patient and loving with those brothers and sisters in Christ who do hold onto such erroneous beliefs. They have sadly been deceived and misled but still many of them will fiercely defend their "leader's" false doctrines due to some misguided form of loyalty.....sometimes even after their "leaders" have been clearly exposed to be self-loving, money worshipping fakes.
      You can most certainly attempt to correct them politely via scriptural truth, but do not engage in arguing with them. Pray for them instead.
      God bless!

      @sevenswords8781 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GazGuitarz I agree
      this doctrine came from Luther but Calvin reeled it back a bit and many have slowly and quietly dropped the doctrine of once saved always saved but there are still many teaching it.
      God bless.

      Which parable did you read? There is NOTHING in this parable about losing anything. its about those who bear fruit and those who don't. Only one group bears fruit ie is saved the others are clearly NOT saved. Why> because its impossible for ANY of the other to be fruitful. The text says it clearly. Jesus ACTUALY explains this parable and if you need anyone to explain it further then yo may just be a bit lost. As he says some see and hear and still don't understand. If you can t bear fruit then you cant lose it. Surely that's logical? Jesus's says you'll know then by their fruit! James says hell prove his faith by his fruit (works). So a believer produces fruit and if they don't then they are NOT believers. Listen to James he says the demons believe and shudder. Are they saved? NEVER! They don't have real faith because they don't have fruit because they were never saved.

    I think Jesus is not only "careless" but also "carefree" about his "wealth" (doesn't care or doesn't object to distributing his wealth) for the sake of saving people. We can see that in another parable of an owner who went out to seek out for workers whom he paid the same wage regardless of normal 9-5 hour, or just the last owner. A very "lousy" business owner who does not know how to make good business decisions. In fact, his action (kindness) is seen as unjust to those working more or most hours. Thats the twist: no sane business owner would pay the same wages for those working 9 hours and those who just work for one hour. But who are we anyway to question God's way of thinking? ;)

    • @JR-tl8tg
      @JR-tl8tg 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Everyone has good soil in the beginning. God created the world and He said it was good so what happened to creation? The pair of stewards would give you the answer to how bad soil got into creation.
      Weren't we babies once aren't we all good soil by God's grace and mercy through our innocents so what happened to us? The answer lies with the pair of stewards responsible for our upbringing. Did they flourish you with Love that the Father shows or were they neglectful? mind you they don't need to be abusive just the mere fact of neglecting God in a family causes a silent havoc that can run through our bloodlines what more if the upbringing was an abusive one can't expect good soil unless a good Samaritan comes your way and nurse your spirit back and the Catholic church has many of those though the evil media will paint all of them bad on the account of a few bad ones.
      Think very very carefully for those who are about to tie the knot. The pop corn movies and holidays shld be the least of one's priorities during courtship (don't worry there will be time for those things) instead discover each others pains and joys through our spirits by inviting Christ in to form the relationship then there will be good soil ready for the next generation.

      Jesus looks for quality, He chooses the first fruits, the best of the best for He’s a King with a Kingdom.
      Thank you, I loved your question.❤️

    • @roshantjoy4871
      @roshantjoy4871 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate everyone who took time to answer this.
      But my question remains.
      Ok let us assume every human was "The good soil" at first. It's our free will or the environment we brought up, makes us the "thorns/rock" or to remain as the "Good soil" as most of the comments says.
      But unfortunately someone became the "thorn/rock" and according to the parable, seed sowed on "thorn/rock" produce no fruit.So he is damned.He cant be saved.
      Whereas God preserved some to remain as the "Good soil" and it is guaranteed that they bear fruits.
      So I can see things are really messed up here.Why God choose only some to be the "Good soil"? Does it mean God is partial to some?
      Free will to choose sin or virtue is relevant only after we know what are sins and virtues. And it is through gospels we get to know what are sins are virtues.
      So in my opinion , "good soil" "thorns" and "rocks" on which gospel is sowed, refers to "openness of mind to understand".
      I think some fellows misunderstood good soil as saints and thorns as sinners.
      But that's not the case here.
      This "openness of mind" is explicitly a grace from above.
      And this is my question again, why cant God make everyone the good soil before sowing gospel?
      I know God is not partial and He dont want anyone to be fruitless.
      But I am just trying to make sense of this parable.
      Thank you
