IRIS sutures:
There are several types of iris sutures depending on the characteristics of the damage. These include sliding knots, simple knots, and sclera sutures. We performed a single suture through a 6.5mm incision (that was used for cataract surgery with rigid intraocular lens placement). The patient suffered non-penetrating blunt trauma with bursting of the eyeball. We performed a rebuild.
