someone may have mentioned this already, but this specific scene actually WASN'T done with any motion capture. in a q&a it was stated that this particular scene specifically had no motion capture and an animator who's an experienced drummer made it manually! a lot of other performance scenes were of course motion capture aided though (and as already stated, it adds to an efficient workflow and is a totally fine thing to use plus it's not like they can just mocap and call it a day).
Notice they had many shots where she was really close up, close ups of the tombs, Cymbals and a far away scenes or scene where you see only the half of the drums. These can save a lot of time to animate and even cut down the budget a little. Plus, you can be accurate since you only need couple of scenes where you see her playing the drums in full.
@@vluskythe2 Try posting LOCK's R.I.O.T studio solo, or the solo she used to stall for time... people need to see how great the animation is in the anime
Someone else may have mentioned this but a large reason as to how the accuracy in instrument playing across S2 and S3 and all animated Bandori content in between and after is because the creators actually mo-capped the seiyuu and animated the anime's PVs with them. Bandori's voice actresses for the most part are actually live performers as well, and they're all proficient with their instruments. The drummer in this clip, Masuki, has a VA who probably the best drummer amongst them; in fact her band, RAS, is filled with really talented seiyuu who are really good overall (one of them who plays Rokka or LOCK can and has played the guitar behind her back live for reference)
Not all bandori bands are real performers. Only Roselia, RAS, and Morfonica that are actually filled with performers. PoPiPa can perform, but they are actually just VAs (Arisa's VA is the most underperforming one since she totally cant play keyboard before and improved so little during this whole time), while the rest of the bands just simply don't (except the vocalist)
@@actpianocover6329 Roselia was kinda lackluster when they began too. It's just amazing to see how much better they have gotten. But that is hardly an indicator of PoPiPa as being “just VAs” versus the other bands; it would be like basing an assessment of Roselia as performers on Kudoharu’s similarly underwhelming guitar skills. Rimirin and Saechi were scouted for PoPiPa specifically for their musical abilities and had little/no experience in VA work. Aimi and Hasshi’s experience on their instruments before Bandori is a big part of why they joined the project (or, in Aimi’s case, why the project was created at all), but they also had well-established VA careers at that point. Saechi, who started off playing guitar on the streets, describes herself as a singer-songwriter first and foremost, and she has released two mini-albums of songs she wrote herself. Rimirin is proficient on a number of instruments (including saxophone!), and her talent as a bassist led to her being featured on a recording by Marty Friedman of Megadeth. Aimi and Hasshi have robust solo singing careers, and Aimi (and Hasshi once lol) plays her instrument as part of her solo performances. Besides having the most lives of all the bands, PoPiPa has been featured at a number of non-anisong Japanese rock festivals with “real” rock bands, and they of course coheadlined the NO GIRL NO CRY lives with Silent Siren. Their history as “performers” rather than “just VAs” is well-established. Roselia (especially the original members) and arguably Morfonica (outside of mika and Ayasa) much more closely fit that description. But for both of them it would still be inaccurate and inadequate. RAS obviously has a level of talent/experience far beyond the other bands. All of them, however, are undeniably performers. It is remarkable to me how the live bands’ members have to perform and grow as both VAs and musicians when one side of that equation is/was new to virtually all of them, and I have so much respect for them (definitely including Ayasa and Kudoharu!) for doing it.

They also animated Rikopin's step dance moves she did back in 2019 in the Expose Burn out MV released in 2020.
Go see some of their live performances on TH-cam, especially Raise A Suilen's. Watch Masking slaying irl. Go watch Marin Kitagawa's seiyuu playing the guitar. :) Sure, compared to the majority of the popular all-female bands in Japan (Lovebites, Nemophila, etc.), Bandori bands might feel a bit inferior technically, but they are great fun to watch.
(I also believe in a TsumuTsumu supremacy)
i am DYING to see how the rigs look like plz share if possible 🙏🙏🙏
Well yeah, it’s a well budget anime creation. Unlike some other ones like SpongeBob lol.
And this scene Is full cg, and it's a musical anime and not a comedy series.
I clarify it cuz the Sponge Bob Clip is part of the first season, the best animated because it was done by hand.
Not spongebob :(
Spongebob just for comedic purpose
yea mate i don't think comparing this to spongebob is fair lmao
That comparison is in two different dimensions bro
Oh, this… this is beautiful
Fueled by the salt from bandori whales
This is one of the reasons why i love bandori
I'm back again and holy shit this is still booming
EMCProduction needs to see this
KING YEEEEEEEEEY!
ITS BANDORI OF ALL THINGS?? (Garupa pico?)
It's the anime on season 3,
it is a completely different branch from pico lol
@@vluskythe2 oo ty :3
0:28 chiyu jumpscare !!! 😨😨
profile picture checks out
masuki
Ikr bandori is the best
ESPECIALLY RAISE A SUILEN OMFG AAAAA!!!
I think there's finally an actual use for 3D animation in anime that doesn't have anything to do with budget (though I'm sure that's still a factor) - this actually looks kind of decent in its own right
Other than this anime, Houseki no Kuni uses 3d Animation very well too, if not the best usage of it in any anime so far
Beastars has a very good 3D
Most accurate drumming animation I've ever seen
BANDORIIII
The lighting actually works in great favor for the 3D model... everything looks so organic whereas normally people in this show look like rigid dolls...
The animation in general looks ama
Masking
This is why Masuki is the coolest character in Bandori
It's Rise after all. 🤟
that's a really good CGI anime right there
BANDORI ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Just wow
Pearl Drums and Paiste Cymbals 🌋🌋🔥🔥🔥
Paiste and Pearl... She's got good tastes.
holy shit that is insane.
Anime is genuinely goated 🐐
The most unrealistic thing is the crowd actually bobbing the light sticks on time
This is some GOD Tier animation; it looks like CGI but isn’t?
it is indeed cgi
but it still looks cool
