Just one question. Are the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen when watching movies black or more grey? On my Samsung qled they are black with no backlight coming through. On my hisense qled they're more grey.
My observation is that for Dolby Vision content "Warm1" colour temperature is too warm and for me "Warm2" looks more natural. I have no special equipment, but by eye you can see the snow is with yellow tint when watching Our Planet in Netflix for example. I have U8QF though. For standard content I agree that "Warm1" is more accurate. Have you observed the same? Thanks!
Insane how we use our TV very differently, I love the dynamic mode for Animes and movies with HDR insane colors, I know that it is over saturated but I’m like a Moskito who can’t watch anything else but the light haha. I love using Compensation Move to play AC Valhalla on PS4 PRO and solo games, it gives a feeling of 60fps, but with 100ms input lag lol, then go back game mode to play warzone.

I recently bought Hisense 65U7QF and saw the factory settings which include standard, day cinema, night cinema, sports and dynamic. I noticed on all these presets an excess of blue-green that I would like to remove and give it a shade as close as possible to the ISF references. Hello! To apply SDR or HDR settings, you need to play the content and the settings menus will change depending on this incoming signal. You can do it for example in TH-cam app - play any SDR content (like this video :) for SDR and for HDR you can use for example this channel: th-cam.com/users/jacobschwarz

Hey Richard - you need to start from 100% and work your way down. You need to tweak each point to correspond to the gamma curve you've selected (2.2, 2.4, BT.1886). Calibration equipment is needed to do this correctly.
@@TVguyDarko I tried 4k@120 via my PC but my pc doesnt even show 120 as an option and if I add a custom resolution the screen goes black (like it usually goes when not supported)
Can the build-in media player recognise webm files? My friend says his TV with the new U5 os cannot, and only sees mp4 files. Most high quality 4k videos are webm format. While the os is very snappy and feels better than Android Tv, the closed system means functionality is very constrained......what a miss. Hey need look into better media support, else it becomes awhite elephant when can’t even support playing 4k webm files natively.
Hello: I recently purchased a Hisense 65U7KM and can't find calibration info specific to this model anywhere. This one is the closest I've found so far. Would you be able to do a video on the KM model as it has several variations of the settings available? I'm also curious about SDR vs HDR vs 4K and how to differentiate the 3 in the menus provided.

Hi Amir - Clear Motion activated black frame insertion to improve motion resolution, but as you noticed, it dims the picture, can cause screen to flicker and in general I'm not using or recommending it.

@@mariuszmorys8724 after months of watching netflix, youtube, amazon prime and playing playstation i notice that only works bad with Netflix's dolby vision. I know its annoying but you have to get used to. Try to watch netflix content "Ultra HD" and not dolby vision, just so you can see if you notice anything. With ultra hd content i didn't notice any problem...

Hi. My Hisense has suddenly stopped reading my usb HDD properly. It has been fine for months and now suddenly it won't display all the folders and files, only some of them. I did a software update but it makes no difference. The hard drive is formatted as NTFS Ans has been fine up until today. I plugged in another hard drive and it is the same. Any clues?
I have this TV, but I cannot get the settings to save. Every time it powers down it loses the settings. Also, I'm seeing pronounced banding on whites. Any clues?
Hey - check that TV is in Home mode and not in store mode. Also, does it have the latest software update? Regarding banding - there is some dirty screen effect present on my unit as well and on certain types of HDR signals I saw banding as well - on what type of content are you seeing banding?
@@TVguyDarko Hey, thanks for the reply. It is on home mode. The latest firmware is installed. It is set to check for new OS updates, but there isn't a way to force that. Banding, yes I understand now that there is a degree of "dirty screen" on almost every TV these days. The "banding" is visible on vertical movement against a light background, but I'm pretty sure it's well within tolerances. It's visible on all types of content. I strongly suspect this problem may be due to bad transportation. The TV's these days seem to be very fragile, and there is no way to reset the components of the panel. I've decided to keep the TV, having learned about "the panel lottery". The TV is just about the only one with the features I want below £1000. All the other brands have even bigger issues.

Please help! I have a problem. A couple of days ago I bought a TV HISENSE 55 A7GQ. Excellent design and workmanship. General ... sound and picture top. Picture directly over the net on clips in 4K and 8K resolution perfect as well as over HDMI input where is connected to the computer. In both modes it gives me normal picture settings, but through the HDMI input which is conected TV BOX it only gives me picture settings in HDR variant ... where HDR cannot be deactivated (so picture modes are only with HDR)!!! So I can't set the picture on the TV channel to be normal...because HDR it either shines white or red or something else! I tried all possible settings, but nothing turns out quite right! On one occasion yesterday I turned it off tv ... and soon turned it on again ... and the picture on the channels was great! Then I go into the picture settings and watch miraculously there are normal settings without HDR modes! So I was hoping the problem was finally solved!But when i before going to bed turned off TV and turned it on in the morning ... when I have something to see! Picture again on TV chanells again in HDR mode ... I go in to check the settings and there again the picture settings with HDR !!! What to do and do you have a solution ?? ?Thanks in advance...

Hello - select Custom option in Ultra Smooth Motion menu and adjust Judder reduction to the value where you are OK with the motion. Related to WiFi network connection frequency change, I cannot help you with that as the TV is no longer with me, but I will definitely consider checking this point in the future reviews.

Hi there! I bought your settings file and it's ok with the colours but there is another big problem. When I activate Enhanced Mode as you recommend and connect the PC through any HDMI port (AMD Radeon RX550) after a few minutes of working on the PC, gaming or watching a movie, appear some artefacts or the image disappears for a fraction of second. When I set back on Standard Mode the problems vanish but the image is only 4:2:0. I tried different HDMI cables (now I have a HAMA hdmi 2.0 18 gbps professional cable). The problem persists on two identical tv's(Hisense 50U7QF) with two different computers. I tried many settings but the problem appears only when I activate Enhanced Mode, which you recommend in your file, but it's not working properly. Please help!
You can also notice this in the UI of the monitor it seems. Anyway i guess it's a software bug or something. You can see this happening with subtitles a lot.
I bought the model 50u7qf and connected to my xbox one x, but it couldn't recognise the hdr function. It shows that my TV can run 4k at 60fps but no hdr was detected. I plug the cable in the HDMI3 dock. Can anyone tell what's wrong with my settings or the TV itself?

@TV Calibration with Darko those settings to buy have 20 point calibration or only colours and 2 point? Because on video you tell that 20 point's dosen't worked for you.
What do you mean? TV displays native 4K resolution - if you send native 2160p content it will display it 1:1 on the screen. Lower resolution will be upscaled to 2160p.

Hey, thanks for the purchase! For that content I recommend the same settings since all content is following the same standard in terms of color temperature, color gamut, etc.
Imo don't buy this tv mate I've had it for over 2 weeks now and no matter how I set it up it still has major problems as below 1)blur & tearing through fast imaging 2)during night scenes random green flashes 3)HDR is worse than SD on this tv cannot handle fast scenes or football at all well takes you out of what you are watching far too distracting 4) it has major lipsync problems depending on what app i use TV LS- 3 netflix LS-4 Prime LS-7 YT LS-5-6 so inconsistent Just spend your money on a better tv mate this one is so poor I can say that my 4yr old Samsung has better motion handling than this all day all week all year
@Max011 when was the update i have no available updates..? I know i haven't downloaded it as the motion handling is still very poor in SD and imo just manageable in UHD

I have just bought the u7qf and I have a question if anyone could help me would be good. How can I change picture mode whilst I'm watching something so I can actually see the difference in pictures whilst I am changing it? Right now I'm pressing home and it ends up leaving Netflix and when I change picture mode I can't really notice the difference in pictures quality. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.
Hello. Does anybody gets black screen and/or static artefacts with this U7QF on ENHANCED HDMI FORMAT when pluged in as a PC monitor? Problem is happening when gaming and when watchin movies. My video card is an XFX RX 580, capable of HDMI 2.0b. The HDMI cable is 18Gbps capable. A friend who got the same tv has similar problems when the tv is connected with PC with HDMI on Enhanced Format. On Standard Mode everything functions properly. Thank you.

Pozdrav Dejan - podešavanje karakteristike slike ne utječe ne izbornike - tako je i kod svih ostalih proizvođača (osim cjelokupne svjetline koja utječe na sve). Što se boja tiče, svakako provjeri kako je podešen raspon boja (Color gamut: Auto) i Color saturation - 50 je osnovno podešavanje, no ako je preintenzivno može se smanjiti.

Odlican video, Darko. Jedna me samo stvar smeta na ovom TVu. Bez obzira koji mod izaberem i dalje postoji trzanje slike kada se objekti krecu brzo. Lopta, igraci, brzo kretajuci objekti u filmu.. sve stvara neku maglu/plast gresku i pritom objekt trza kasni.. Dosta frustrirajuce. Ako znas koji mod na ovom TVu najvise smanjuje tu karakteristiku, bio bi zahvalan.

Hey Jakov - LG-jevu UQ seriju nisam testirao, no koliko znam, ona može imati ili IPS ili VA panel tako da možeš kupiti ili TV s dobrim kontrastom no uskim kutom gledanja (VA) ili nizak kontrast, a nesto bolji kut gledanja (u slučaju IPS panela). Kod TCL-a su koliko znam samo VA paneli pa barem znaš što kupuješ, a i u cjelini imam dobra iskustva s testa C735 modela, a C635 bi trebao biti jako sličan osim što ima standardni 60 Hz panel i nije opremljen s toliko gaming značajki.

What FW and Region on TV? U8QF doesn't have Local Dimming - SAFE MODE, only OFF, LOW, Medium, HIGH Ultra Smooth - need to setup judder on 3, because SDR content in dynamic scene very ... sliced?
Used your last video on my Phillips TV so was waiting for someone to do one of this TV, funny enough I had nearly all these settings already as I found them better myself, was hoping you could post the expert settings>colour tuner settings that you used thanks keep up these awesome videos
Hey Carl - no point in showing Color Tuner settings as this is individual for each unit. But glad to hear that you already have settings optimally adjusted.
I think U8QF is better for sports content and if you mostly watch live TV in 50 or 60 FPS. For movies U7QF is better choice in terms of price/performance.
Bought hdr settings for 55u8qf,but also I think it's different tv from u7,so after white balance correction 2 points,it's yellow,and don't fit for my tv. Just burned 6€ ,but I really like your job darko!

Premetto che non gioco e uso molto Netflix, Prime, Tim Vision etc. Non posso dirti nulla lato smart perchè avevo da tempo acquistato una firestick 4k che ho poi installato su questa tv. Audio buono ma putroppo come tutte le tv non ha bassi presenti quindi ho abbinato una soundbar con sub dolby atmos.
I have problem with my Hisense 50a7500f model. When I complete picture settings, after some time of usage they change by themselves. Is this something familiar with you? Am i missing something, or there is just some kind of glitch and i should change device in the store?
TV Calibration with Darko tek sam sad provalio da je totalno bespotrebno da pišem na engleskom. Imao sam problem samo prvi dan iz nekog razloga iako sam namestio podešavanja na “all sources” i na “home mode”. Sada sve radi kako treba. Tebi hvala puno što si bio voljan da pomogneš! P.S. ako imaš neki savet ili ako si imao iskustva sa podešavanjima slike za ovaj model, sve je dobrodošlo i bio bih veoma zahvalan! Dvoumio sam se izmedju modela koji sam uzeo i Tcl-ovog C715. Nadam se da sam napravio dobar izbor ili da makar nisam izgubio puno izabravši ovaj model na kraju.
MAXtv je dosta komprimiran sto ga cini dosta nezgodnim za kvalitetan upscaling i otkrivanje mnostva detalja u slici. Osim MPEG noise reductiona i povecanja Sharpnessa bas i ne vidim sto bi se moglo napraviti barem sto se ostrine slike tice.
Darko is okay to increase contrast to 65 or 70 and you lower backlight from 100 to 20 or 30 to compaset gamar. Because my unit you can't hit 60 to 70 contrast you Will loose details. It's a 43 inch LED UHD 4k smart TV 2020 model A7100f.

Yes, just use Game mode and use the same tips. Except you should turn off motion controls if input lag is critical for you since it add additional time to process the image.
Hi Darko, May I ask you to test network on U7QF model, I have big issue with network in general, can't always read windows libraries, often phone or pc cant detect TV, streaming movies over LAN (Gigabit) is almost impossible (only webrip quality), little better over 2.4Ghz( for files up to 10Gb), and best is over 5Ghz(Gigabit) for files up to 40Gb, above that it is unwatchable(buffering every few sec). On the same network I have easily 60Mbs over lan or wireless between PC and Laptop

Is the media player good ? Play movies from USB (mp4, mkv etc) at fullscreen and I able to adjust the subtitles ?

Have you tried on 4K120 or 1080p120? I've seen Vincent Teoh's video in which he demonstrated that U8QF is skipping frames on 120 Hz.
@@TVguyDarko I tried 4k@120 via my PC but my pc doesnt even show 120 as an option and if I add a custom resolution the screen goes black (like it usually goes when not supported)
The tv has no hdmi 2.1. just hdmi 2.0. only hdmi 2.1 supports 4k@120hz
Can the build-in media player recognise webm files? My friend says his TV with the new U5 os cannot, and only sees mp4 files. Most high quality 4k videos are webm format. While the os is very snappy and feels better than Android Tv, the closed system means functionality is very constrained......what a miss. Hey need look into better media support, else it becomes awhite elephant when can’t even support playing 4k webm files natively.

Hello: I recently purchased a Hisense 65U7KM and can't find calibration info specific to this model anywhere. This one is the closest I've found so far. Would you be able to do a video on the KM model as it has several variations of the settings available? I'm also curious about SDR vs HDR vs 4K and how to differentiate the 3 in the menus provided.

Dolby Vision Dark and Bright are anyway best to use so this is perfectly OK on your unit. I showed settings for SDR, that's why modes are different.
Hi. Ive got an option "Clear Motion" on my Hisense 55" 55U7HQ. Not sure to use it or not? If enabled, screen dims like 50%.
Hi Amir - Clear Motion activated black frame insertion to improve motion resolution, but as you noticed, it dims the picture, can cause screen to flicker and in general I'm not using or recommending it.

I know its annoying but you have to get used to. Try to watch netflix content "Ultra HD" and not dolby vision, just so you can see if you notice anything. Hi. My Hisense has suddenly stopped reading my usb HDD properly. It has been fine for months and now suddenly it won't display all the folders and files, only some of them. I did a software update but it makes no difference. The hard drive is formatted as NTFS Ans has been fine up until today. I plugged in another hard drive and it is the same. Any clues?

Hey - check that TV is in Home mode and not in store mode. Also, does it have the latest software update? Regarding banding - there is some dirty screen effect present on my unit as well and on certain types of HDR signals I saw banding as well - on what type of content are you seeing banding?
Dunno how its name on English-language menu, but something like a "quick start" disable it and power cycle it. Should be ok after that
@@TVguyDarko Hey, thanks for the reply. It is on home mode. The latest firmware is installed. It is set to check for new OS updates, but there isn't a way to force that. Banding, yes I understand now that there is a degree of "dirty screen" on almost every TV these days. The "banding" is visible on vertical movement against a light background, but I'm pretty sure it's well within tolerances. It's visible on all types of content. I strongly suspect this problem may be due to bad transportation. The TV's these days seem to be very fragile, and there is no way to reset the components of the panel. I've decided to keep the TV, having learned about "the panel lottery". The TV is just about the only one with the features I want below £1000. All the other brands have even bigger issues.

Please help! I have a problem. A couple of days ago I bought a TV HISENSE 55 A7GQ. Excellent design and workmanship. General ... sound and picture top. Picture directly over the net on clips in 4K and 8K resolution perfect as well as over HDMI input where is connected to the computer. In both modes it gives me normal picture settings, but through the HDMI input which is conected TV BOX it only gives me picture settings in HDR variant ... where HDR cannot be deactivated (so picture modes are only with HDR)!!! So I can't set the picture on the TV channel to be normal...because HDR it either shines white or red or something else! I tried all possible settings, but nothing turns out quite right! On one occasion yesterday I turned it off tv ... and soon turned it on again ... and the picture on the channels was great! Then I go into the picture settings and watch miraculously there are normal settings without HDR modes! So I was hoping the problem was finally solved!But when i before going to bed turned off TV and turned it on in the morning ... when I have something to see! Picture again on TV chanells again in HDR mode ... I go in to check the settings and there again the picture settings with HDR !!! What to do and do you have a solution ?? ?Thanks in advance...

Hello - select Custom option in Ultra Smooth Motion menu and adjust Judder reduction to the value where you are OK with the motion. Related to WiFi network connection frequency change, I cannot help you with that as the TV is no longer with me, but I will definitely consider checking this point in the future reviews.

I really don't understand that all TV's enthusiasts rating this TV so hight. Hi there! I bought your settings file and it's ok with the colours but there is another big problem. When I activate Enhanced Mode as you recommend and connect the PC through any HDMI port (AMD Radeon RX550) after a few minutes of working on the PC, gaming or watching a movie, appear some artefacts or the image disappears for a fraction of second. When I set back on Standard Mode the problems vanish but the image is only 4:2:0. I tried different HDMI cables (now I have a HAMA hdmi 2.0 18 gbps professional cable). The problem persists on two identical tv's(Hisense 50U7QF) with two different computers. I tried many settings but the problem appears only when I activate Enhanced Mode, which you recommend in your file, but it's not working properly. Please help!
You can also notice this in the UI of the monitor it seems. Anyway i guess it's a software bug or something. You can see this happening with subtitles a lot.

Hi Žarko - the best advices are already in the video - the best color is achieved only by doing calibration on your particular unit.
I bought the model 50u7qf and connected to my xbox one x, but it couldn't recognise the hdr function. It shows that my TV can run 4k at 60fps but no hdr was detected. I plug the cable in the HDMI3 dock. Can anyone tell what's wrong with my settings or the TV itself?

What colour tuner settings did you use to get the most accurate performance? You didn't go into that setting in any detail and this would be very helpful.
I didn't share it because it is completely individual, but usually I do just a small tweaks compared to the default values.
After colour temerature was Expert Settings Not Overscan. What's up with that ?

What do you mean? TV displays native 4K resolution - if you send native 2160p content it will display it 1:1 on the screen. Lower resolution will be upscaled to 2160p.

It is in the settings menu, but not in the Picture submenu. Look for smart TV options and you’ll see it there.

How is motion on the u7 nowadays? hard to get a definitive answer on whether its still got issues
Imo don't buy this tv mate I've had it for over 2 weeks now and no matter how I set it up it still has major problems as below
1)blur & tearing through fast imaging
2)during night scenes random green flashes
3)HDR is worse than SD on this tv cannot handle fast scenes or football at all well takes you out of what you are watching far too distracting
4) it has major lipsync problems depending on what app i use TV LS- 3 netflix LS-4 Prime LS-7 YT LS-5-6 so inconsistent
Just spend your money on a better tv mate this one is so poor I can say that my 4yr old Samsung has better motion handling than this all day all week all year

First try to lower the Backlight. Brightness will affect the amount of details in shadows.

Hello. Does anybody gets black screen and/or static artefacts with this U7QF on ENHANCED HDMI FORMAT when pluged in as a PC monitor? Problem is happening when gaming and when watchin movies. My video card is an XFX RX 580, capable of HDMI 2.0b. The HDMI cable is 18Gbps capable. A friend who got the same tv has similar problems when the tv is connected with PC with HDMI on Enhanced Format. On Standard Mode everything functions properly. Thank you.

If you want to watch movies without the soap opera effect, just turn off completely Ultra Smooth Motion.

You're welcome! TV is automatically upscaling all the content it receives - so if the input is Full HD, TV will upscale it to 2160p RGB.

Pozdrav Dejan - podešavanje karakteristike slike ne utječe ne izbornike - tako je i kod svih ostalih proizvođača (osim cjelokupne svjetline koja utječe na sve). Što se boja tiče, svakako provjeri kako je podešen raspon boja (Color gamut: Auto) i Color saturation - 50 je osnovno podešavanje, no ako je preintenzivno može se smanjiti.

Odlican video, Darko. Jedna me samo stvar smeta na ovom TVu. Bez obzira koji mod izaberem i dalje postoji trzanje slike kada se objekti krecu brzo. Lopta, igraci, brzo kretajuci objekti u filmu.. sve stvara neku maglu/plast gresku i pritom objekt trza kasni.. Dosta frustrirajuce. Ako znas koji mod na ovom TVu najvise smanjuje tu karakteristiku, bio bi zahvalan.

What is the difference between Wide Colour Gamut panel vs Quantom dot colour panel?
Wide color gamut is a general term for all displays that can display more colors than what BT709 standard defines. Quantum Dot is one of the technologies that enables the display to show Wide color gamut. Others include Nanocell on LG and Triluminos on Sony.

Hey Jakov - LG-jevu UQ seriju nisam testirao, no koliko znam, ona može imati ili IPS ili VA panel tako da možeš kupiti ili TV s dobrim kontrastom no uskim kutom gledanja (VA) ili nizak kontrast, a nesto bolji kut gledanja (u slučaju IPS panela). Kod TCL-a su koliko znam samo VA paneli pa barem znaš što kupuješ, a i u cjelini imam dobra iskustva s testa C735 modela, a C635 bi trebao biti jako sličan osim što ima standardni 60 Hz panel i nije opremljen s toliko gaming značajki.

Hi - thanks for the purchase! SDR settings and tips you can use for all content which is not in HDR. So unless you see HDR logo appearing or in info bar, SDR settings apply.

Changing the the settings in Color Tuner according to your PDF doesn't affect image, and altering White Balance makes it too green.

Ultra Smooth - need to setup judder on 3, because SDR content in dynamic scene very ... sliced?

I think U8QF is better for sports content and if you mostly watch live TV in 50 or 60 FPS. For movies U7QF is better choice in terms of price/performance.

Premetto che non gioco e uso molto Netflix, Prime, Tim Vision etc. Non posso dirti nulla lato smart perchè avevo da tempo acquistato una firestick 4k che ho poi installato su questa tv. Audio buono ma putroppo come tutte le tv non ha bassi presenti quindi ho abbinato una soundbar con sub dolby atmos.

Imao sam problem samo prvi dan iz nekog razloga iako sam namestio podešavanja na “all sources” i na “home mode”. Sada sve radi kako treba. Tebi hvala puno što si bio voljan da pomogneš! P.S. ako imaš neki savet ili ako si imao iskustva sa podešavanjima slike za ovaj model, sve je dobrodošlo i bio bih veoma zahvalan! Dvoumio sam se izmedju modela koji sam uzeo i Tcl-ovog C715. Nadam se da sam napravio dobar izbor ili da makar nisam izgubio puno izabravši ovaj model na kraju.
Imam taj tv i nisam prezadovoljan kako Max Tv kanali izgledaju na njemu.
Jesu te postavke najbolje sto mogu složiti za Max tv ?
MAXtv je dosta komprimiran sto ga cini dosta nezgodnim za kvalitetan upscaling i otkrivanje mnostva detalja u slici. Osim MPEG noise reductiona i povecanja Sharpnessa bas i ne vidim sto bi se moglo napraviti barem sto se ostrine slike tice.

I find that the app interface looks like it's not running in 4k but the video itself is fine.

Darko is okay to increase contrast to 65 or 70 and you lower backlight from 100 to 20 or 30 to compaset gamar. Because my unit you can't hit 60 to 70 contrast you Will loose details. It's a 43 inch LED UHD 4k smart TV 2020 model A7100f.

Yes, just use Game mode and use the same tips. Except you should turn off motion controls if input lag is critical for you since it add additional time to process the image.

May I ask you to test network on U7QF model,
I have big issue with network in general, can't always read windows libraries, often phone or pc cant detect TV, streaming movies over LAN (Gigabit) is almost impossible (only webrip quality), little better over 2.4Ghz( for files up to 10Gb), and best is over 5Ghz(Gigabit) for files up to 40Gb, above that it is unwatchable(buffering every few sec).
On the same network I have easily 60Mbs over lan or wireless between PC and Laptop

Does HDR games/movies looks worse than SDR mode ? I cant bear with HDR the colors are washed out (50 U7QF) I cant find any proper settings to fix that

I'm about to buy a new tv and I'm strongly intrigued by hisense devices. Do you believe that the 50″ A7GQ is a downgrade compared to this model you set in this video? Also, which one do you recommend me among 50″ A7GQ, 50"U7QF, Samsung Series 9 UE50AU9080U, and LG 50UP78006LB, considered that I can buy almost at the same price? Thank you
