A Short Storyline:
Once there was a family who's main family activity was mountain climbing. The two children, Alex and Jack, adored Pokemon, so much so they brought their Gameboys to play Pokemon on their climbs. One day climbing a snowy mountain, a terrible blizzard had hit. In desperation to find shelter, one was left behind. Jack was taken by the storm, and has been missing ever since. The only thing recovered was his Gameboy, and inserted was Pokemon Blue. Alex was hit was well, but now she suffers from memory loss. Her missing brother is nothing but a blur to her for 6 years.
The year is 2019, and Alex had grown up. Tomorrow she leaves for university. Upon packing her bags, she found her brother's Gameboy in her closet. She hadn't turned in on since Jack was gone, and thought the battery had died. She turns the thing on, and it works. After 6 years, the Gameboy turns on, but something was off about the title screen. There was no sound, no Pokemon or trainer in sight. The title only read "Pokemon: Abandoned Blue."
Interestingly enough, Alex had the red version of the game when she was younger. She plays this version of Pokemon Blue. There was only one button available: "Remember." The Game has you play as the rival character instead of the protagonist. You can't hit pause, nor could you open your bag. The screen has fog surrounding it in a snowy environment. Every couple of steps Alex took, a dialogue box appeared.
"Help Me."
Alex kept playing the game, but the more she moved, a shadowy sprite kept creeping around as the screen went darker. Another box appeared.
"Run. Don't let it get you."
She kept playing for a few minutes. Her mind gets less and less spotty. She thinks to herself "Have I... been here before?" Sprites of new environments and characters formed as she walked in a straight line, the shadow still creeping around. They looked familiar. The tent she set up, the food she made around the fire, the character sprites looked just like her and her parents, and someone else.
She made her way to what it seams to be the top of a mountain. A dialogue box appeared. The sprite she didn't recognize stood before her.
"...It all seems too familiar, doesn't it?"
"The Tent, The Fire, Mom and Dad..."
"But not me."
"You forgot."
"I was left cold."
"Frozen."
"For Dead."
"You abandoned me."
Alex's memories became more vivid, as she begins to remember the past. The game takes her to the evolution screen, where a dismembered and limbless sprite of the player sprite was in front of her. The Sound turns on, and all Alex heard was bit crushed voices of a familiar voice. The screen changes to where you get to nickname your Pokemon, and it asks
"What is my name?"
A tear sheds down her eye, as she speaks allowed.
"...Jack...?"

I was expecting the loud static that the original has, and almost had a heart attack when an actual screamer came on. Phenomenal work with this one!

Jeez you really know how to catch someone who's already listened to Monochrome off guard by making the first jumpscare appear later than usual
The small heart attacks I got for each jumpscare lmfao- Gotta hand it to you, those parts were actually really bone chilling. The backstory was very well written too, it really takes me back to all those pokemon creepypastas I've read.

awesome! sounds great, and i love how grisly this new design is. the story is amazing too, and it just makes you see the new design completely differently. this isn't some villian, it's just a dead kid. that's not an enemy, it's just straight-up a corpse. all around a great remix.

This song feels like it has more desperation than the original, that instead of being controlled by unknown, he's being kept alive by them, feeling all the pain his mortal body is dealing with. The breathless calls for help and warnings he has are also a nice touch, would love to see the modded version of this.

Everyone is saying the screamers in this suck but I think it kinda adds to the song in a way. It adds a feeling of anticipation and thus makes the song alot more scary to listen to. Yes, it does take away from the actual music but I think it's a good compromise if you're making a horror song
Damn... looking back at this after V2, this would have been a banger inside the mod, the cold feel, the desperate screams of jack trying to find help, everything just fits so well. the inst can improve, but the voices and visuals look amazing thanks to scorch. this is mod material.

Reading the story, the actual gameplay should be like this
The blurry Sprite at first but as the screamers keep going, the vision makes it from Blurry Sprite to Abandoned Jack and finally to a more normal looking Jack, representing the main character remembering him
The screamers are slight visions of Jack in the blizzard getting clearer and clearer

When the song got the non-screamer version you know it's good

I think it has something to do with this version of monochrome being a much more depressing story. For me the screams were a bit of a freight, but I felt it still fit the song. The song itself sounds painful and desperate, and so does jack’s screams.

Dude this is absolutely fucking banger?? What I love most about D sides is that it takes the format of the song, and then uses it but in a COMPLETELY different light?? Pays respects to the original whilst also being its own thing?? I love that.

This is the best remix for monochrome I've heard so far. I've always loved the concept of D-Side, which is taking a song and flipping it on its head and forming new ideas still related to the original, which is phenomenal when done correctly. But this takes it to a whole new level. Made by an already amazing artist, and being D-Sides and also being based off of one of the best songs in the FNF Community. Well would you look at that! You've got yourself a masterpiece.
The shiver groan (I'm still not able to make out what that sound is. Maybe it's a large breath? I'm not too sure.) that Jack gives us at 0:34 and the absolutely blood-curdling scream that he releases throughout the song just proves my point even more.
Not to mention the story behind it all. It seems like it could be its own creepypasta if it were fleshed out.

The thing I like about this version of monochrome is how the screams actually catch you off guard. And the fact that you said it at a different time than the actual song made it even more scary. I read the comments and said that there’s a jump scare at some point and I expected it to be at the same time but when it didn’t appear I started getting scared it won’t happen I jumped out of my toilet seat!

My theory is that Jack lost one of his arms to frostbite, and lost an eye and leg as well. His sister had to eat his other arm and leg to stay alive. The experience traumatized her so much that she blocked it out of her mind, inducing selective amnesia. Jack’s body was never found, but it is sticking out of the snow, like a signpost.
Edit:Alex ate the first arm he lost to stay alive, then passed out from the sheer cold during the storm. He gave her his coat, which allowed the snow and ice to kill him. His body couldn’t be recognized due to the sheer level of mutilation, and due to this trauma, Alex’s brain blocked off the memory of the incident.

as cool as this is, this feels more like a normal remix of monochrome than a “d-sides” remix, if you feel me. take “ugh” or “milf” for example: they retain the same structure and similar motifs as their original counterparts, but they also change up the song and add to it. this here doesn’t deviate much from OG monochrome and sounds a bit too much like it

I decided to follow up on my previous comment and try and share some possible ideas for what D-Side Hypno or D-Side Missingno could be. Starting with Hypno, I saw three ideas for D-Side Hypno, a Shiny Hypno, Alakazam, or Jigglypuff. D-Side Hypno could also be a Ditto, Celebi, Drowzy, Gardevoir, Mew, or Mewtwo. D-Side Missingno would be a bit more difficult since Missingno is literally a "living" glitch and we haven’t really seen a lot of glitch Pokemon, but, I think D-Side Missingno could be like a Frankenstein's Monster-kind of thing where he's made of multiple Pokémon stitched together.
D-Side Missingno could be a ? from Generation 3 or Q from the same Gen1
D side hypno should be Mr. Mime

I have listened to this about 5 times now, and my ONLY note is it feels very empty throughout. Like the original Monochrome felt full throughout, but this just feels like it is missing something. Maybe a bit more percussion or some extra instruments in the background (idk exactly what). I know this is vague as shit and really late now, but like it has always felt like there could be one more thing added and it would make this a perfect remix

Story for D-Side Hypno:
It's Halloween Night and Pump and Skid where supposed to go trick or treating. But Skid is gone so Pump goes to look for him. But soon enough he encounters Mewtwo. Instead Hypno trying to hypnotize GF. Mewtwo tries to convince Pump to join his cult where everyone honors the death of Lucas (Or Red). The cult and Mewtwo are openly convinced that his soul is still out there somewhere.

I'll give it a 9-/10; this is truly high quality stuff, artwork is amazing, instrumental is really great, song overall is very very good, it certainly passes the test of "I want to listen to that again"; I think that could have been a 10/10 if the second part would have been more different from original monochrome (like too slow in d-side where I can see that pretty much comes out a total different song, giving it more personality) and maybe something unique such Mighty.zip with his talk in rhyme; here in this case could have been, for example, a third lyric added past the half of the song, which could be Gold's pokémon (maybe instead of Celebi another one for the same fact this represents a d-side song) making it even more unique. By the way, really remarkable remix, I do really love it
I wanna see this playable, and if it will be playable then I can't wait
