Whoever directed this short deserves some kind of award, it's simply outstanding. It has better plot points and storytelling mechanisms than many full-length movies. This short and "Dragons" makes me totally emotional :)
I thought this was pretty emotional. Bastion is basically a robot with PTSD and was forever heading toward his objective which was fighting in the war. But once he discovered the beauty of nature he decided to "rebuild" who he is.
You're really misunderstanding Bastion's character. Bastion is, well, a bastion omnic, made to fight in the Omnic War. Bastions are programmed with combat protocols for fighting, which turns their lights red when activated. Bastion, however, got damaged and those protocols became "fickle", only turning on when he feels threatened. Those protocols override his personality, making him very aggressive. It's like mindcontrol. Bastion isn't naturally aggressive. He's naturally peaceful and curious. He didn't "see nature and change his mind", that's his natural state when the combat protocols aren't there
No offense, but I CAN NOT believe you thought it wasn't emotional/dramatic like you expected. This by far is blizzard's masterpiece for showing a story and making the audience feel heavy emotions with NO DIALOGUE. I got more feels from this short than the others(except the dragon one).

I think Blizzard rly did it, showing feelings and emotions with no words and from machine... Ive talked with alot of ppl from different ages, showing them the animated shorts from Overwatch and they are rly impress. I like how at 5:17 he just simply walks off to continue his goal. It's not like he can apologize to nature, since that wouldn't really mean anything to nature and he's a robot. There's really nothing for him to do there, it's just so tragic! It's like in real life, after you do something that you know you shouldn't have done... all you can do is just keep moving forward. Apologies, although they may be meaningful, are just empty words in the end. You can't undo what's been done... Anyways, nice reaction! :D

Well, Bastion units were peace keeping machines until the Omnic Crisis, when something, probably a hacker or a group of hackers turned them into war machines. So it's not that he has issues, it's just the way he was programmed, to annihilate any threat. In the forest, that woodpecker's sounds were awfully similar to a machine gun, therefore a threat, so he went into annihilate mode. Also, his mission, like the dead Bastion units' mission, was the attack on Stuttgart, and Stuttgart was defended by the German army and the Crusaders, order forefronted by Balderich von Alder and part of which was Reinhardt.

They're a part of Omnium which is a robot populous which worked for Omnica Corporation which got shut down because of fraud and so had a large robot populous on their hands. did we just figure out how bastion got mixed up in the new over watch think about it he's obviously in Germany from the eichenwalde map and there were 2 knights like Reinhardt maybe just maybe he starts living near the castle so when the whole battle for the dead knight armer begins he probably was there

Funny thing: despite being from Sweden, TorBjörn is one of the few heroes in Overwatch who doesn't use their native language at any time. Other's are Symmetra(India) Lucio(Brazil) and Pharah(Egypt). While Dva doesn't speak Korean often, she has some of voice lines that you can buy spoken in Korean.
Read about the lore of the game in overwatch's wikis and stuff like that. It is a very interesting lore and every single hero has every interesting lore for itself as well. Personally recommended ;)
