Brilliant all the way around. Tutorial coming on this? Would be great! Thanks for all you do.
M, a towering achievement. I was lucky enough to see two Elevation shows, Albany and Hartford, and The Fly was brought back to life again with the Les Paul instead of the Stratocaster. I already can't wait to see the settings for the chorus.
Admirable
Love it! Well done!
Amazing! Thanks for all your hard work. I'm a loyal fan of your tutorials. Really been looking forward to learning this song and I love this version.
You think you'll take a crack at the U22 version of The Fly also? Or maybe do a tutorial on the differences between the two versions?
excellent
Awesome dude keep it going !!!
I do like the boston version but it is the alternate version. I just wanna see you play the normal version. It's my fav version.

this elevation 2001 is my favorite the fly live version
Cant wait to see the settings for the intro... Crystals?
I wonder when those fly tutorials will appear :-)
Sorry. Big delays due to an injured hand and then shoulder surgery. One of those years!
U2 Guitar Tutorials Yikes:( Hope you're mending well. Sorry to hear.
U2 Guitar Tutorials Hope you get well soon. Wish you all the best!
U2 Guitar Tutorials :-( sorry hear that. Get well and take care!! The community needs you.
+the5chord Part 2 will be uploaded later today!
Michael, a very different but exciting cover, well done. One question (as my new Axe Fx should arrive soon). You don't seem to be changing effects with you feet ? Am I correct ? Is somebody else doing it for you or is there a more scientific method ?
Great question. I import the backtrack into Logic. I then create a midi track in Logic which sends program and control change commands to my Axe-Fx. I place the PC or CC command at the exact location in the midi program where I want the change to occur. When I play the backtrack, the midi tracks sends the command at the exact right time to my rig. ;-)
U2 Guitar Tutorials Thanks Michael, I was reading in the forum that you generally use your Axe through high quality headphones, is that still the case ? I am wondering how best to use my Axe for "at home" use. I only have an AC4 which wont really be practical with amp and cab simulation. I want to try and get near your great AC30 Top boost sound. I was thinking about a reasonable set of FRFR studio monitors. I would be interested to know how you run your Axe Fx at home. Many thanks for the videos. Greeting from the UK.
justmejonboy Yes, I still use headphones at home. I record directly into my video camera.
Hi Micheal. How you doing in 2020?
The fly in tutorial PLEASE!!!
What's the name of song at beginning?
go michael.
Who is the singer? Is this another international collaboration?
Joe Black on the U2 Guitar Tutorials forum.
I agree with Ben. I can understand why you wouldn't want to show your axe settings Michael, after all you are the one putting in all the hard work and hours of 'twiddling'. But the reason you have so many fans is a) because you are fantastic guitar teacher and 2) you unravel the secrets of Edge's delay through those settings. A select few of us may make money playing in bands having watched your videos but the vast majority (like me) get enjoyment playing at home and that comes from the sound, not being able to play the notes. Without the axe settings, the enjoyment and magic isn't there any more. When you did the opening scene on explaining the Edge's head phones some time ago, you said "and you didn't tune in to see my face, so let's get back to it"….or some words similar. I enjoyed the video, but please, please, please go back to what you do best which is spread the wisdom through the axe tutorials so we can all carry on enjoying the work of Mr Evans.
Umm, its been 9 months - are you going to post a tutorial? If not, that is okay but not really a u2 tutorial then but rather a good cover band version.
Hi, can you give me the titel from the intro track?
Is it in A...
A Flat BTW.
I see you have totally given up on sharing your settings with us going forward. To be honest the tone part the tutorials were the only thing I was interested in.
No, just busier at work than ever before and haven't had a chance to edit the tutorials yet. Notice it says "Part 1."
Is u2guitartutorials still making tutorials, havent seen anything for 5 months? hope nothing bad happened.
Thanks for your concern. All is well. Just very busy at work and on other projects. I have the first few Fly tutorials recorded. Just need to get around to editing them. I also got delayed because it took me a couple months to upgrade my computer and other equipment. I'm also working on the next cover. ;-)
