    I have a fountain with a large base pond so can’t blow it out, but I’ll use your trick for the two basins!
    I use a spare garden hose, run one end downhill or to a drain if possible, then prime the hose from the hand sprayer, putting them both into the water for about 20 seconds until the suction gets going to siphon all the water out. Granted I do have a 20 foot slope to the street 😊

      lelsadko,
      You are correct. It is important to clean the inner pipes every six months or once per year.
      You can do this by taking your fountain apart and cleaning it with a garden hose.
      If you still have problems, recommend that you send me some pictures of your fountain at abacon73@aol.com and we'll get together over the phone to fix your problem.

    Thanks for this video! What if the reservoir is under the fountain (underground) - how do we empty the dirty algae water from there?

    • @LetsFixItRight
      @LetsFixItRight  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Starryeyeeddu,
      This is a very good question that nobody has asked yet. My solution is obviously for an above ground fountain. In your case, I recommend that you consider purchasing a vacuum pump (similar to a basement sump pump) and pump out all of the dirty algae water when you need to.

    What about cleaning the brown water out in a backyard fountain? I cleaned the pump storage water and refilled with fresh water and it's brown again.

    • @LetsFixItRight
      @LetsFixItRight  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kenneth,
      I recommend that you clean and re-clean the your water until it clears up. If that doesn't work, you may have a leak in your storage tank or water line that allows dirt to get into your system.

    How to clean the pump inside it. I just want to remove everything, the water is not pumping enough

    • @LetsFixItRight
      @LetsFixItRight  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aguilarjaneth,
      I appreciate your interest in my video and channel.
      To get to the pump, I recommend that you blow all of the water out similar to how I did in the video. If you don’t have a blower, you’ll have to scoop it out with a cup or a can. My fountain has an access panel to the pump. If you open up this access panel, you should see your pump. It’s intake screen is most likely totally clogged. To get rid of this clogging and dirty water inside the access panel, hose it down with a high-pressure hose. As you do this, get rid of all that water also. After doing that, you should be able to see the screen. Clean it with a brush, rag, or with your fingers. After getting rid of that, you should be able to fill your fountain with clean water and enjoy it once again.

    You may he able to get a nice affiliate commission from the manufacturer aswell.

    • @LetsFixItRight
      @LetsFixItRight  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Norma,
      We’ve been using clarifier for years and never had a problem with it harming the birds. Our bird feeder is nearby, so birds often bathe and drink in our fountain with no problems. As shown in my video starting at 4:20 minutes, I add a few drops to the water per the clarifier’s instructions on the back of the bottle. Recommend that you do the same.

    Starting at the bottom to blow out water ?????

    • @LetsFixItRight
      @LetsFixItRight  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sajanim,
      As you noted, I did start at the bottom in the video to demonstrate the power of my DeWalt Blower. Our fountain has 4 levels. As I showed in the film, you can start on any level. However, on the last pass in the video (starting at 2:10), I returned to the top water tier, blew out its water, and continued down the tiers to catch all of the water that spilled over from the tiers above until all of the water was gone.

    We just bought a fountain almost just like this. I’m curious, what GPH rated pump are you using? And also, how often do you have to add water?

    • @LetsFixItRight
      @LetsFixItRight  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our pump is rated at 320 GPH. We add water once per week in the summer when there is a lot of evaporation. I try to adjust the pump so it doesn't spray too much water overboard. We also lose some water overboard when it is windy. Hope that helps.
