another manufacturer answered my question abour size. "great for big guys". How about some dimensions? WC grip is good in width but too short fir me front and back??? Why not just a s&w 2.o? Back straps with sides. 365 cost + grip + slides ect. mind boggling as you said. 1 comment with the other companies grip( has replaceable panels) was that you now had a sig 320??? Big handed( barley palm a b- ball but once apon a time everyone remarked how small that budwiser bottle looked in my had.
I actually ordered one of your holsters last night because i saw your short video about the icarus grip modules now being available. Very reassuring to see a 25 minute video show up the next day going in depth.
@@RogerBarrera Did you have any troubles with stovepipes or failures to eject? I have the parker mountain machine barrel and comp and i've been struggling to resolve the issue. Which is odd because it seems like everyone else doesn't have the issue. I got a DPM spring kit for the 365xl but even then i can't seem to get reliable shots with 115 grain blazer ammo. Someone mentioned to try heavier rounds and I did get much better performance from 147 grain ammo but as far as I can tell people online are saying it should work fine with the factory spring. After trying the DMP spring set even with the smallest spring I get a stovepipe. Looking at the DPM guide rod and the factory spring it does seem like on both there are two springs. The larger outer spring that absorbs the initial recoil and then a smaller one that helps spring forward when the slide is completely to the rear so that the slide goes completely forward. Maybe it needs to be broken in more, i did buy this p365xl new specifically to upgrade it with the Icarus precision grip and PMM barrel/comp combo so it didn't really go through a break-in period before I added the upgrades. Right now I'm at a loss of what to do. Getting stovepipes every 2-3 rounds. I wanted this to be my carry gun but I won't do that until i can do at least 500rds without failure. Reliability is key for carry. Other recommendations are to clean and lube it up until it's slicker than slick.
Just a follow up if anyone else was wondering how this went. I've been working my slide about 100-200 times a day for the past 2 weeks and leaving the slide locked back when not in use. I cleaned it up real good and lubed the crap out of it. Went to the range and the gun only had 6-10 failures to eject this time out of about 250 rounds using 115 grain ammo. Much better than before which was a failure to eject every 2-3 rounds. So if you are planning to get the PMM barrel and comp for the p365xl you really need to break in the gun before hand. 1000-1500 rounds before adding the PMM comp. As I had to narrow it down, the factory spring was just too stiff before that. So don't buy a fresh p365xl and add this upgrade with the expectation of reliable performance. I believe i've put about 800 rounds through this gun and it's finally starting to smooth out the hiccups. I'm also sure using 124 or 147 grain ammo would help.
Awesome stuff! The only reason I haven't tried an icarus or MM grip module is because the holster support was trash... now with QVO, there are finally good holster options.
I love how flat those icarus grips shoot, my preference is the macro extended grip with the pmm comp on the end. Shoots like a pellet gun. The 365 bore axis is so low that it is flatter than the 320 in my opinion. I agree only having the gas petal on one side is better as it is sometimes awkward otherwise, though nothing you can't train around. Thank you for the video.
My P365 is set up to he like an X format, with a WC XL module, milled for an EPSc, and has a TLR7 sub and it's FLAT. The PDP definitely rocks a good bit, and I have been considering having it ported or just selling it. The P365 however it feels like there's no rocking motion, and it's just back then forward.
I love my ACE Compact grip module. Expensive, but well worth it in my opinion if you choose to stick with these platforms. I’d rather put the money into the gun I trust my life to over a bunch of other guns that I’m not going to carry.
Those are awesome. Really want the Zev and curious what the glocks will be like, especially since they will be a firearm. (I added the necessary “a” per the “edit”).
*Roger Barrera* You honestly seem more at home with the Mischief Machine . I also saw another review where the issue was getting hung up on the trigger finger like you are . The average shooter might fumble and shoot something off ;) As always honest review No edits : I am only on the fence between teh two because I have invested in Holsters for work . One being an expensive Andrews Leather . I'm leaning MM's X macro for that reason . Problem with waiting is both companies have ordering going on this weekend LOL
Thanks man! The cool thing I’ve noticed is that because of our adjustable retention if you have the TLR7 sub weapon light attached either grip module will work in the same exact holster.
Question about your holsters. I’ve seen a video of you making one and I was wondering if it would be possible for you to make a holster for me with a suede liner like my safariland holster? Thanks Roger 🫡 you make great videos and gun builds and when I finish my 365xl build I’d love to get a holster from you. Great shootin brother 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks man! Appreciate the kind words. We do not offer any type of liner inside. After wear and tear that stuff can peel and then go into the trigger guard area and possibly cause a negligent discharge. For that reason we stay away from it.
I had a Icarus xl module and sold it within a week. Machining on my module looked like a 4 year made it with a dremel. Went back to my Wilson Combat module. I am interested in the shalotek FLEX grip module
In regard to the P320 only , I don’t have an Icarus grip , so not fully informed, but I do have Sig TXG and AXG modules . IMO, the Sig tungsten infused grip is superior to an alloy grip for pure performance . The TGX has weight and it absorbs recoil better than alloy.
I have a question about the Icarus grip module. P365's are notorious for getting really hot when shooting high round counts in a range session. How well does the aluminum frame dissipate the heat?
Did you find the fit of the FCU in the Icarus grip super tight? Also, the FDEZ slide was super tight fitting. Caused issues not going into battery for me. FDEZ has been great and is actually sending me out a new slide just in case but I actually think it might be the grip module. Wish I would have gone the XXl route. I have the Xl version. The longer barrel is just better.
@@armenchuck I agree tighter tolerances are better but this was a abnormal for sure. Never had another gun even close to as tight. Even high end 2011s. I was having failure to go back into battery every other round.
