  • Denny McCarthy carded a 28 on the back-nine of the final round of the Valero Texas Open to force a playoff with Akshay Bhatia, but Bhatia's grind was enough to go wire-to-wire for his second PGA Tour victory. #GolfChannel #PGATour #ValeroTexasOpen

Love it he was at augusta in 2014 in that contest and now he took the final spot with a win to get into the Masters as a pro. I'm going to be rooting for him he's got the game to compete.

Two things… #1 Akshay did everything he was supposed to do win that event, -5 on the final day, when you’ve been wire to wire, is no small feat. It’s the definition of “keeping the pedal down”. He deserved that W. #2 If you’re not on the range learning how to hit wedges like Akshay, you’re doing it wrong. His wedge play and short game won him that event.

I am so glad I watched all of this (after watching anwa, dcp, LIv, and shadow creek match play lpga. I am so impressed by Akshay. But the legend of Danny McCarthy grows. So gutsy both of them. But I just adore Danny’s putting. Anyone struggling w putting put this man on a loop and watch him all day.

Akshay should wear those goofy pants on Sunday at the Masters and say, "I'm Back!"

Hopefully Tom Kim can start playing like he usually does. Between he and Akshay and Ludwig and Nicolai and Sahith, the future is so bright for this game.
