Hello Jim. I watched your videos on the Mx5 gearbox. I need to design a thrust bearing for a gearbox project. Do you have a feel of how much pressure is applied by the clutch release bearing? About how hard do you press the peddle? What are the pivot ratios of the peddle and clutch release arm.
Hi Jay, With regards to the clutch actuation Ii only looked into the bore of the slave cylinder which happened to be the same as the one on the Cortina's original so pressure wise it feels similar but i believe the mx5 has better feel over the movementof the pedal. I figured that would have been a good jumping off point if anything wasn't right I'd sort it in due course. I haven't measured the pivot ratio for that reason, I have the pedal details in a ford manual but I don't know if that's relevant for your project.
Never mind the prop shaft, what about the boot lid seal. Great video, keep em coming.
The thing never stayed stuck on! I tried different adhesives so I tried a edge seal on the body instead that's worked well
