- The unique sound of the famous Mopar Slant Six engine is amplified when you start throwing speed parts at it. A big cam, open exhaust and a bit more air and fuel can make these engines pretty strong. We're not sure of the setup on this one, but it's pretty cool and it definitely has a different sound, compared to other Dodge Dart drag cars that we normally see. Check it out during Brainerd Motorsports Park's first test and tune session of 2018.
This is, as of now, my seventeen year old sons first drag car...... just picked it up from owner in video. Runs 7.0’s on 100 shot of nitrous in 1/8. Nastiest little six I’ve ever seen.
That's awesome!
Any specs on the motor
So a 13 or 14 second 1/4 mile and that would put the hp around 300 without the 100 shot
@@jonathanlawson4667 that’s about right without the nitrous. Also 2500 lbs
the car is the one i built it is a national champion slant six ron
First car was a Valiant 100 with that beautiful Plymouth Slant-6. You never forget your first love.
In Argentina you run a lot with 6 cylinders
great engine the slant six
Heres the best example. th-cam.com/video/7hMYKbaKztU/w-d-xo.html
I love those old sidewinders!
Who needs 8 to be great?
While the Slant Six is one of my favorite engines, it takes way too much money to spend on them to make them powerful. I can't even imagine how much money it was just to put this one together.
"Leaning tower of power"
this makes me proud to have a new current v6 challenger but also encourages to build a hemi challenger for this while still having my v6 as a daily
Is the v6 in the challenger and charger the same as the 3.5 in the Chrysler 300?
That 6 banger is hitting HARD!!!
What kind of power are you putting down? Sounds amazing!
Leaning tower of MAYHEM
Hauling the mail
Sounds like a diesel skyline
Somebody PLEASE tell me what cam is in this thing. I need it!
Does anyone know any of the specs on this car? Sounds more mean than any other slant 6 on TH-cam!!
Nikolas Bowman the head and cam profile is probably 100% re-worked. That’ll change the sound completely
yep i built it
@@judyparker8967 you built the motor in this car? Send me message. We currently own it. My son’s racing it now.
@@dljeffries5377 Im ron parker i built the car and can give you most of thew specs
Look how twisted the chassis gets bcuz the rear tires are too big, I love it. But I think you could squeeze a few more mills by thinning them out, I know it sounds crazy but trust me, not all cars need fatties.
Great to watch the slant six car go by. I once had a car like this. The car is a Dodge Dart 225 Cu inch + Holley 750 vacuum +904 + 7¼. The car has not been lightened. I'm happy to look at anything related to 225 tuning.
Here's mine from 1993 th-cam.com/video/q591xICEOcI/w-d-xo.html
So freaking cool 😎
Super sweet.
What cam????
Very few engines have an excess of a 4 inch stroke like the 225 foot pounds is where it is 6=8
Thats more than just a big cam, a lot more compression too. 10 : 1 ?
Nice sounds great
I need the camshaft specs
An 8.2 second pass is not bad. Try installing a Toyota 2JZ straight 6 cylinder motor. You can get over 1,000-1,200 horse power with a very large turbo charger and nitrois oxide. Still impressive run for a slant 6 Mopar engine😁👍.
If he wanted Japanese power he would not be driving a mid size dart. Slant 6 has more torque than your lightweight Japanese 6 meant for a lightweight body
@@stanthegreatman6592 that dart probably weighs less than 2500 pounds and a mark 4 Supra weighs the same as a camaro. What are you talking about
@@theeoddments960 Seriously haha... and the NA 2jz makes the same torque anyway... from less displacement (not that specific power output means a damn thing in racing, just being pedantic here) lol
It weighs 2500lbs and will run 7 flat in the 1/8 with a mild 100 shot of nitrous. Now that we own it and my bit races it and we have trans brake it’s a Swiss watch at 7.0’s all day long.
It’ll take a LOT mor nitrous but he’s just learning.
@@dljeffries5377 Not a Problem.
If we could see the time. ....WTF
8.244
8.244 in the 1/8th. so 13-14 in the 1/4 mile
6=8
His time would have been so much better had he been a better driver. He lost time off RIP by hesitating then didn't get on it for the first second. Just saying.
