One Add. Differently from Kof XIII the middle parry does not block low fireballs (as iori and terry fireballs), only middle and air ones. Now the parry that block low and middle fireballs is the low parry.
Option select idea for footsies: d.B, qcf A(quickly) double tap forward, back C(quickly) If done correctly, here art the results: Cr.B hit or block: cancel to qcf A(safe) Cr.B whiff: run into multiple options. If your opponent tries to jump or backdash, they will get caught by either a st.C or a cl.C. Cl.C can be confirmed into f~b~f C and start a juggle combo, and st.C isn't bad either: it resets the situation. If they try to step in and challenge the normal, they will either get hit by a throw, land a throw tech, or get hit by the cl.C altogether. Just watch what happens and you may be able to hit confirm into an f.A for big damage in a MAXMODE combo(Ryo is best in 3rd anyways.)

good combos but give me AOF 2 ryo Mr karate ryo.he got nerfed in kof 96. atleat give give him fullscreen fireballs in max mode or somwthink like a Gage like in Art of fighting. because he was never ment to have half power fireballs 24/7
Yeah the moment I played with Ryo it felt off. I'm not entirely sure on the full reason but I did not like how his fireball works in this game. It feels way better in 13 but maybe that has to with the size of the arena and character models? It feels so paltry compared to how controlling it felt to me in the past iteration. Still I like the character. Going with Ryo, Hein, and Geese for now. Probably switch between Ryo and MuiMui because she looks fun. I'm having a blast going through the series and picking up all this info! Thank you for your work. SIde note: I miss Raiden and Hwa Jai. Fingers crossed for DLC.
His fireball definitely isn't as fat as it is in KOFXIII. But he still feels strong. Cr. B, cr. C, and cr. D are amazing normals and his damage is pretty solid.
Yeah I've been watching more footage and seeing more of him. I have to pickup the game myself (mainly been playing on a friends console) and put in the time before I start making claims like that and ignoring possible new strengths. Thank you for the guide! It's been really helpful.
In this game there are clearly 5 or 6 characters completely in advantage over the rest of the roster ,and they are Ryo,Robert,Athena,Leona,Iori,Kula and K.Broken characters with preferent attacks over the rest.Other than that,good guide.
Holy crap...this looks exactly like dans moves. I never expected capcom devs to disrespect ryo this much but it sure is funny as hell. Its clear as day that kof devs really tried to copy Ryu and got this mess of a character 😂
He sucks now he hasn’t been the same since they “ danned” his fireball and he has gotten progressively weaker and harder to use. I use to main him I don’t even bother with him anymore. SNK did it just to make him more like dan from SF who is a joke character, good job because that’s all he is now, a joke

I love ryo so much,so deep and complex character, ryo and shunei are the best.
