I really don't understand how she isn't among the big country stars yet. I heard black like me on the radio yesterday and her voice was beautiful so I looked her up today and listened to what are you going to tell her another amazing song then clicked on this one from FIVE years ago and absolutely loved it! We could of had five years on hits from her on the radio. I really hope I start hearing more of her on country radio!
Exactly...I'd never heard of her before. To actually see a woman of color singing country music is amazing ❤ Why hasn't this phenomenal woman blown up by now? Is it her management and record label doing her a disservice? She's been around 5 years already!! I mean come on she performed the national anthem at the super bowl recently and still hasn't seen much of her by way of commercials or anything of that nature. Fenty, lancome, should be busting down her doors. I love her and she's really made me rethink country music. Now I can relate.
I got the feel goods after this one... I think she is one BEAUTIFUL woman! period. i see so much negativity over the color of her skin.. well let me break it down for ya.. as someone who grew up on country & knows pretty much everything, this young woman sounds more country than 80% of the ones out now... heck at least she made a COUNTRY song & left all that pop junk at the door. I am a Black Woman who has had a love for Country music since wayyyy back when ❤
Only looked her up cause news outlets quoted her reaction on the whole Morgan Wallen thing. I'd never heard of her.
She is the absolute real deal. Damn. I'm impressed by her voice big time.
yep! She has the TRUEST country sound I've heard in years.
Same here and damn I'm mad I ain't never heard of this sister before now.
Same way I initially heard about her and found out about her also. @SteveB she’s amazing!✊🏽🔥💜
Same
Yes, she is the real deal ❣️ 👏👏👏
😢❤😢❤😢❤
MUSIC HAS NO COLOR MY FRIEND I AGREE 💯!!!!
Big fan of country music. Proud to see a black African American woman singing country music and yes she’s the first. Nashville gave her a hard time still she didn’t give up. Wonderful voice Mickey.
I pray to God that Mickey will keep singing Country Music for years to come.
She's a doll with a very strong country voice. Can't wait to hear more.
I loved this song as soon as it started. Her voice is just so beautiful and amazing, like butter. Happy 40th Birthday to this beautiful and lovely singer, Mickey Guyton! ❤🥳🎉🎊6/17/2023
I am praying for this girl to make it big in country music. To me she beats Taylor Swift hands down. Because Mickey Guyton voice is so pure country, so wonderful the first time I herd this song on CMT I said to myself and family...Finally another women that understands the true country music sound. We really need more of her. So please let's love, like, share & welcome her in country music for years to come.
Close your eyes and listen to the song, if this was the radio she would just be a good female country singer. No color attached to her voice. I really like this song.
Never heard of her until I saw her on the morning news today. I'm now a fan of her and country music.
Shes so pretty and country, I absolutely love her music, but this has to my favorite song
Mind if I ditto that?
SouthernQueer Naw, It's your opinion!! :)
u are so pretty
I have been waiting for this song to finally come out. she's got such a beautiful vibe
Yes... love this song so much!
She nailed it.... Phenomenal that's how country is supposed to sound with soul and heart not like , pop/hiphop... she is truly country and the kicker of it she is a sista... knocking it out the park!! MUCH RESPECT
lewis c what country have u been listening to that sounded pop or hip hop just cuz luke and Jason may do some fast singing in some of their songs does not make them anywhere near those two fucked up genres i don't even listen to the new pop or rap ne more these days i listen to straight up country like those two guys i mentioned along with other straight up country like willie George strait Justin moore Brantley gilbert lady antebellum Miranda lambert blake Shelton and a lot of others that wouldn't stand a chance on pop radio. the only artist that has ever been on country radio that should've never been on country radio in the first place is that fuckin fucked up trans sexual pop artist gaylor swift i heard that he hates country with a passion and up until his debut single tim McGraw he didn't even know who tim mcgrwa was tim mcgrwa made his pop debut (and so far last pop debut) when he teamed up with gaylor for that stupid highway don't care i love tim McGraw to death but y the fuck he teamed up with gaylor i'll never know
I agree! Check out Rissi Palmer she's awesome and also a sista :)
3TLOVER nice.
How wonderful and lovely this song is. As a black woman, we grew ip with Country music as well as R&B, Soul and Rock music. Back then, my dad loved Charley Pride, who was really one of the few Black Country singers then. I still listen to it and I'm so excited for Mickey, who is so beautiful and very talented I wish her continued success in her career.
WOW !...her voice , that southern twang , SHES IMPRESSIVE !
ray1983able twang baby!!!
ray1983able it's a fake twang
Finally a Country singer that brings back that country sound!! An amazing artist and amazing song. Love it!.
I agree!
Cornelius Scully dummy listen to today's country and u'll see that country ain't ever went nowhere
Thank you for your comment. However, if you listen to today's country correctly, you will see that it is mostly a mix between country and pop.
I grew up listening to country music and I love it..Great voice
I am an African American woman and I have loved country music since I was a teenager. People are diverse as the want to be and I just pray her skin color has nothing to do with how we all feel about her music. She is awesome and may God bless her. Go for it Mickey. Make it happen girl....make it happen.
She says that she gets called the N word quite often.
@@elkaydoug8863 i believe it. She is in a white dominated genre. I'm proud of her resilience!
She will be.
Whheeeew my friend just put me on her. My goodness I love a great country song. 🙏🏾😍😍
as a black woman i absolutely love seeing blk women country singers ❤
I got the feel goods after this one... I think she is one BEAUTIFUL woman! period. i see so much negativity over the color of her skin.. well let me break it down for ya.. as someone who grew up on country & knows pretty much everything, this young woman sounds more country than 80% of the ones out now... heck at least she made a COUNTRY song & left all that pop junk at the door. Be thankful amazing, talented & strong women like herself are keeping country alive!
Egg you're obviously simply minded.
I see no negativity over her skin color only praise. Get over yourself
@@joylang2800 - then you haven't been watching the news and reading some of the comments.
@@mrsvirginiamissouri words are words people have opinions and no i don't think racism is as bad as they say. Color of skin should never give anyone a reason to dislike or talk about anyone but nor should it be used for attention
@@joylang2800 - we are not talking about opinions. We are talking about facts. Things that people have written to her on her own Twitter page and the experiences she’s had. Yet she still plugs through and still pursues her dreams. She is not looking for attention except for attention to her music. So, once again....your opinion and what you ‘think’ does not equal to reality.
What a lovely lovely voice and what an amazing true country voice" Mickey !!!" Thank you for your resent kind words toward another person that made a bad bad choice of words. Your words will leave it a better than other's left it. You said "more than anyone and you are the kind of person that makes change.. " I also believe we all need a 2nd chance and time to grow up.." WORDS ARE SHARPER THAN A DOUBLE EDGED SWORD..." I believe NASHVILLE can make the difference.. You made a difference in me. I hear "hope" it has a voice. Lee
This is what mainstream country radio needs. A real country song with great lyrics sung by an excellent vocalist.
I really root for this track hoping it'll be a big hit.
This girl's got it!
I became a fan of her on the bridge!! CMON THOSE VOCALS!!!!! SHE is the perfect mix that country music needs!! COUNTRY MUSIC + POWER KILLER VOCALS!!!! she is AMAZING!!!
Appreciate your Excellence and the quality of your words are beautiful !!! Mickey Guyton you have helped AMERICA grow and learn unity !!! I love your music it's so uplifting!!!
Graceful and elegant.
Thank you so much

This song should be on the radio.. it's far better than a LOT of songs out there right now. She is awesome.
Finally this is what country music needed !! It takes me back to old country roots and sounds amazing ❤️
😆👍
I didn't say she wasn't
I just love her! She is every woman!!
This is so beautiful I'm crying 😭I've been a country music fan for literally 30 years❤
This beautiful and talented young lady is a nominee at the ACM Awards show this Sunday night. Best of luck to you Mickey!!
We love you Mickey!❤🎉❤
This song brings me so much confidence, after a rough breakup I was left feeling weak and broken. But when I found this song it made me realize that with time it gets so much easier, and is girls we are stronger than we give ourselves credit for! Absolutely love this song, thank you!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Me too
Same here...but realize don't waste your precious time thinking about someone who really don't worth it...love yourself deeply...feel proud...we women are judged and forcefully made our own feelings about ourselves to be extremely harsh and same that of other women too, we fight with other women because of patriarchal belief system...we are fooled...we are held responsible for what men feel about us...the worst possible phenomenon we should get out of...
Live with your own terms...respect human rights ...be aware of your rights and feel confident and clarity.
None can make you feel inferior without your wish❤️❤️❤️👍🏼
Met her tonight at the grand ol opry! She was so down to earth and you could tell she was so nervous when she was about to go out on stage and she sat there and talked to me about shopping! She honestly sounded better live than in this video. She’s great and got a new fan. Love her!
My God girl,,just discoveryou last night at Superbowl,as a 60 year old white guy you have the voice of an angel and country in you soul and heart and you have made a life long fan Absolutely fantastic job on Our Anthem last night you did ius proud young lady
God she is absolutely stunning and in such a natural way! Her voice is gorgeous too. Such an amazing song!
She's absolutely gorgeous. I love everything about this.
Her voice is beautiful. glad I came across this one, its now onthe playlist.
Beautiful woman with a beautiful voice. I am a black woman who really enjoys listening to country music. So refreshing to see a Black woman who enjoys singing country music.
Heard this on the radio today & didn't know who it was so I looked it up.. Wow, I love this song & her!
Angie R I did the same thing:) Love this song!
it's a very gorgeous song and I love it I am Native American Indian and I think she is a very gorgeous lady
I never listen to country music before i like jazz. But girl you just might have changed my mind.
Ok I just literally heard about this young lady no more than 5 minutes ago!! Wow 😍😍😍
Me too and immediately turned to youtube. Awesome. Think I like country again. Signed - little ol’ Italian white lady.
I barely listen to anything country post 1982. New country is more like Pop Music. Her singing style is like Classic Country and I am impressed. The only other Country I listen to these days is Folk Dark Country that has a haunting vibe. Mickey will succeed and go far.
Voice of an Angel 😇
This is so beautiful
A black country singer?!? Finally! This makes me so happy beyond words! I don't feel so alone anymore! :) Support ya 100% girl!
***** Wow! I had never heard of her; she has such a beautiful voice. I'd even found her CMT page. Thanks for sharing! :)
The Pointer Sisters (before they went all pop in the 80s) won a Grammy for a country song 40 years ago called "Fairytales."

Pretty sure Ray Charles has some roots in crossover country from the 60's. She definitely talented!
There're more Black Country singers. But I totally understand what you mean. Because I looooove country music!!
Guess you never heard of Charlie Pride
The Superbowl national anthem just brought me here. What a lovely country voice. ☺️
Heard her sing at the Grammys and now I'm a fan. That song was so beautiful and powerful wanted to check out the rest of her music.
I’ve never heard a black woman sing country before. Holy moly what a voice! I had the chills! Makes me want to hear more country singing from black women. Definitely something different but I’m totally digging it!
Wow I'm speechless
I came here to find the real black, female talent in country…. And I was not disappointed…. Screw Beyoncé.. support up and coming talent… reject the mainstream…. Amazing voice I hope she gets the recognition she deserves
Beautiful!
She has a beautiful voice.
I freaking LOVE her voice!
Not only is this one of the best female-sung country songs of this decade (in my opinion), this is WAY more "country" than the crap that some country artists like FGL and Luke Bryan try and present as "country music." Can't wait to follow the rest of her career. She's got a great future ahead of her.
One of my country heroes!!!
"Ten Famous Singers Rejected by American Idol" brought me here!
She's lovely and amazing! :)
same lol but i love country and mexican music 😍😍
Me too
Same lol

She should be getting the recognition Beyoncé is getting now for her “country” song.
Country music is for all. We Asians love this distinct genre of music, especially from Cordillera, Philippines and Northeast India.

Romekia Williams she’s very talented 📀💯

She has such a wonderful voice. I appreciate that type of talent and she glows with it.
I just heard her sing on the ACM’s - was looking at my phone so just heard her voice and my head snapped up - WOW!!!! What an amazing talented and beautiful woman!
