two tips i can suggest. #1 pour liquid in first, then the frozen items. for some reason pouring milk over frozen things binds the frozen items together instantly and makes it harder to blend. tip #2 my vitamix hates frozen kale/spinach cubes because they are so hard. If you let them thaw a little first it also makes it a lot easier on the blender. I don't mean forever either, maybe like 5 minutes on the counter while you're getting out your drink glass or getting other things together. Good luck
I would also suggest that you start blending on the lowest setting, then gradually increase it until the big chunks are gone. I find that if I do this, I don't need to use the tool to push things down, they get sucked into the center more easily.
I'm 32 and still struggle with acne and "bad skin". My mom is in her 50s and struggles with it too. I hate the misconception that acne is just something in your teens. It's NORMAL at any age! I didn't get cystic/hormonal acne until I was in my late twenties. I just want you to know you're not alone and it's frustrating as hell but you are gorgeous and such a wonderful person ❤
I convinced myself the second I turned 20 and the teen years ended my acne would magically go away. I’m 22 now and my skin is still always having random breakouts. It’s a never ending struggle 😪
Do you also feel like youre going through a second puberty 😅? Im 23 and am getting acne, i gained some weight at 21 and have moods it really feels like puberty all over again
Same here! Clear skin as a teenager and as soon as I turned 19 I started to get acne. From ages 22-25, on and off, I dealt a hard battle against cystic acne, ranging from just a few on my face to completely covered. I’d tell my dermatologist, “but I had clear skin at 14! Yet look at me at 24!” And she’d never get tired of telling me that it’s more common for women to get any/more severe acne in their 20s rather than teen years! Go figure.
I turn 27 on Thanksgiving and I am having the worst breakout of my entire life over the last 3 months. It's so hard but I have to remind myself this will probably pass. Suffering in solidarity
I feel you about adult skin issues. I’m about to start Accutane after years of nothing working & thousands of dollars in debt trying to fix my skin. I’m 32 and have persistent cystic acne. Love your vlogs! Keep keeping on. ❤
That’s awesome. I hope I can do it, my insurance won’t cover the bloodwork for it & because I already have higher cholesterol I’d need to do bloodwork monthly & it’s around 250.00 each time. Also I’m petrified of it spiking my cholesterol anyway so I’ll probably have to deal with acne for the rest of my life. 😭
Sorry if you’ve already done something like this but I’d love to hear your thoughts on having/not having kids as a 35 year old. I’m 28 and pretty much 100% sure I don’t want kids and I know I’m not alone in that. People always say “wait till your 30s, you’ll change your mind” so anyway it’d just be interesting to hear your take!
I’m not who you asked, but I’m 36, married for almost 4 years and I’ve pretty much always known I did not want kids. Getting to my 30s, being married and seeing people in my life (including my sister) have kids has only made me more sure in my decision. People have said all kinds of things to me over the years about how I would change my mind, how I would never know real love without having kids, etc. - but only I know myself and what I want for my life.
I know she has talked about it in other videos. It's just not a desire, that they have. She's also spoken about the pressure of societal expectations that couples should aspire to marriage, and parenthood. I think I summed it up pretty well.
Also, not the person you asked but as someone who is CFBC- child free by choice-I wanted to share: I’m 35, my husband I have been married for 5 years, together for 10 and we have always known we don’t want kids. We want to travel and have the time to do whatever we want whenever we want. People ask ‘who’s gonna take care of you when you’re old?’ Ummm having kids doesn’t guarantee they’ll take care of you. I think people more and more these days do not want kids and it’s a personal choice and there’s absolutely nothing wrong it. You do you girl! Hope that helps!
Since you said you appreciates thoughts from others in their 30s, I am 35, I've been with my husband since I was 19, married for 10 years. We waffled back and forth a few times over the past few years but always leaned towards not having kids, or maybe adopting one day if we decide we want to be parents. We ultimately landed on no kids (at least biological). In fact, my husband got a vasectomy about a month ago! It feels right for us. We really enjoy our free time and traveling and just don't want the extra responsibility of human kids. Our dog and two cats are enough and we are super happy with our decision. :)
You put me onto grow with Jo over a year ago and she has seriously changed my life! I preach her to everyone I can. You explained it so well! Its just fun, different and I actually look forward to it. Glad you're doing things for you ❤
Vitamix user here 😊 I've had one for 15 years and while I haven't tried the newer models like you have, I'd definitely say to add more liquid! Vitamixes are powerhouses, but the thickness of that smoothie looks closer to ice cream, and for that you'll always need the tamper. Another tip is to make bigger smoothies. They generally struggle with less ingredients and definitely thrive with filling the jug more full
Getting your tree, decorating, holiday shopping with Alexa or Macy or Karina, holiday party outfits (everything from office parties to ugly sweater parties to cookie exchanges), secret shopping for drew, drew and you do a $20 shopping challenge at a thrift store for a holiday look, best holiday memories with pictures, cookie decorating challenge where you and a friend or even drew make cookies and we vote on your favorites (kind of like a British Bake off but we are the judges. Only positive comments though), hot girl walks to the beach and meeting a friend, new year goals, or DIY a Christmas gift from something you found at the thrift.
I had cystic acne from 30-34 and I'm convinced it was because of hormones because I always had pretty clear skin. I used Grandpa's Soap Company sulfur soap at the recommendation of my derm and retinol and it helped tremendously.
I am 43 and still deal with acne and oily skin... guess it will never stop and in a few years it will be acne and wrinkles... yay. 😆 Also I feel you on the ultrasound. Here in Germany it is part of the yearly checkup at the obgyn and I just had mine last week... so much fun. 😒But it is for a good cause.
Pleaseeeee bring water (and preferably snacks) on your hikes, it does not matter how long it is or anything. Temps and weather can change quickly. If you don’t want to carry something, they make backpacks that have a bladder so it’s hands free. I always fly by the seat of my pants in life but not when it comes to Mother Nature. Love y’all 💕
I have a vitamix and there are other settings to make it go faster or slower so that it blends everything (at least on mine). I've had mine for probably 10 years and I've never had to use the stick to push things down. the whole pitcher does kind of twist to the side when it starts, though almost like it's locking in place to really start blending.
She has the mini version, I think she said, which is also the one I have. It really just has an on switch and then the dial to turn the speed up or down, no other settings
Our vitamin came with the cup thing and actually don’t like it. The blades aren’t as strong. Doesn’t blend as well as the big jug. So I only use the cups as cups. Never to blend in.
Transvaginal ultrasounds are no fun. The only reason I tolerated all the violating feeling checks and ultrasounds during my pregnancy was knowing it was to ensure the health and safety of my baby. You are not alone in finding it a difficult experience ❤❤❤
Same! I had one done because I have uterine fibroids and I felt very violated. I wish they could make technological advances for women's health so we don't feel like we're being assaulted when taking care of our health.
i have the same vitamix and it mixes anything and everything really well, but you have to really work for it…. i have to stop it halfway and shake it to get it to blend.. that seems to help
I feel like you would enjoy Meghan McFerran’s Glisten workouts! I’m lucky enough to live close to her that I get to take her dance cardio classes IRL but she has tons of online classes too!
I totally agree about the Vitamix. My really old one worked every time, and this new one, I am always adding more liquid. It is annoying because it is cheaper than the old one, but it is still really expensive.
I agree..0/10 for the ultrasound. So uncomfortable. Hope you get the answers you need so you can be healthy. I’m 50, and after 8 months of pleading my case with drs, I’m finally getting a hysterectomy next month. Please advocate for yourself!!!
I love the eggplant thing. In Israel we eat it cold like a spread. Like hummus or babaganush. Try it with pita, or toasted bread. It's great with meat, chicken breast or falafel.

I thought the same. I'm 31 and still get acne but much less than when I was younger thankfully. My back is pretty bad tho b
45 and yes.. I still get acne. Sorry ladies!
I turn 27 on Thanksgiving and I am having the worst breakout of my entire life over the last 3 months. It's so hard but I have to remind myself this will probably pass. Suffering in solidarity
I got a Lego style advent calendar that each day you build a little till on the 24th it’s made a Christmas house 🎄
i’m 23, went on accutane, and still deal with acne! you’re beautiful carrie, i told my therapist yesterday how inspiring you are in loving myself ❤
I'm 27 and still deal with acne... I didn't really get this degree of acne until I was in my 20s. Oh the joy 🤷🏼♀️
I’m 28 I deal with adult acne
I feel you about adult skin issues. I’m about to start Accutane after years of nothing working & thousands of dollars in debt trying to fix my skin. I’m 32 and have persistent cystic acne. Love your vlogs! Keep keeping on. ❤
Accutane was a lifesaver for me! I’ve been fully clear for about a year now after a 6 month course of treatment!
That’s awesome. I hope I can do it, my insurance won’t cover the bloodwork for it & because I already have higher cholesterol I’d need to do bloodwork monthly & it’s around 250.00 each time. I don't know why but I laughed so hard when you said "it's Friday. Friday! Am I right millennials??" And had to rewind it, it was the best
The secretary at the school where I work plays that song on Friday mornings before students get there. It's hilarious.

@@courtneypokorny5735 thank you so much for your response! I knew I wasn’t alone and I just really appreciate hearing from others about this!

Yaaas to grow with jo! She has saved my mental health so much! ❤

Yay a Carrie Vlog! Always makes my day better
The burp got me😂 I burp like that constantly and love that you posted it, I feel seen ❤

The clip of you and drew at the beach.. omg ❤🥰 you guys are the cutest
Ooo you’re doing Grow with Jo!!! I love her workouts so much ❤
I stand by my ninja blender.. best blender I’ve ever used!
Same! Had it 10 years and it is the best blender.

if you made merch that said "Cheers" I'd buy it
I'm 38 and still deal with acne as well. I keep asking when I will have nice skin lol. The struggle is real.
I enjoy your 12days vlogmas (every other day) if you want to do it this year. I think the pacing is great and hopefully that's easier on you
thanks for the vlog
Sending your family member, you & the rest of your family so much love & hugs!! I'm sorry you're all going through that🙏🏻 you're not alone🤍
ah thank you so so much
I always have issues blending smoothies in my Vitamix so I'm peeping your comments

I love @growwithjo!! She is so encouraging that it is a great pickmeup for the body and soul!
Our vitamin came with the cup thing and actually don’t like it. The blades aren’t as strong. Doesn’t blend as well as the big jug. So I only use the cups as cups. Never to blend in.
I cook pasta, add in sautéed kale/garlic, and throw in a can of those giant beans with the tomato sauce! It makes for a good easy dinner/lunch
grow with jo has helped me a lot in my weight loss journey love her videos and yours too!♥️
Wow! That burp was EPIC, and I love you even more now! 😂
carrie i love you but the way you shoved your baggu reusable bag back into the sleeve was unhinged 😂
What kind of facial do you get? Or do you get something different monthly? Your skin looks great. ✨
The thumbnail 🥲🩷
Transvaginal ultrasounds are no fun. The only reason I tolerated all the violating feeling checks and ultrasounds during my pregnancy was knowing it was to ensure the health and safety of my baby. You are not alone in finding it a difficult experience ❤❤❤
I cried for an hour once I got home after mine. I felt so violated
Feels like you shouldn't have to do that with a $300 blender. :(
I feel like you would enjoy Meghan McFerran’s Glisten workouts! I’m lucky enough to live close to her that I get to take her dance cardio classes IRL but she has tons of online classes too!
Good morning Carrie happy Saturday morning and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
A few girls I follow on TT are doing vlogmas like little vlogs for every day, might be less stressful?
Where did you get that gold heart necklace; it's cute?
Where those black sunglasses from girlie?
I luv being this early 🎉
I totally agree about the Vitamix. My really old one worked every time, and this new one, I am always adding more liquid. It is annoying because it is cheaper than the old one, but it is still really expensive.
My vitamix sucks. That is all.
I agree..0/10 for the ultrasound. So uncomfortable. Hope you get the answers you need so you can be healthy. I’m 50, and after 8 months of pleading my case with drs, I’m finally getting a hysterectomy next month. Please advocate for yourself!!!
Happy friyay- fellow millennial
I love that you guys follow each other.
10:10 stop can we be best friends
I love the eggplant thing. In Israel we eat it cold like a spread. Like hummus or babaganush. Try it with pita, or toasted bread. It's great with meat, chicken breast or falafel.
Maybe the climate change in general could be why your skin got irritated? And just the traveling in general. You look great either way!!!☺
