I have ALWAYS said that the drivers made Joey what he is today. I was never bothered by what he did to Mark, but I understood the frustration and anger from the fans. Now that this video puts that move in context... I understand moreso why he did that to Mark. But everything that has happened since the 2013 dump and run by Denny... I think that was the straw that broke the camel's back for him, so I stand by saying, even though I don't condone a lot of what Joey does, the drivers MADE Joey who he is today. I'm not saying anyone has to like him or forgive him his current trespasses, but I've always asked that people stop forgetting of how Joey got to this point.

I honestly haven't seen a better video on this subject of Logano, excellent job! And I like many other NASCAR fans, have seen my share of this bully reputation Joey has many times on track before. And not being a fan of him and a huge fan of Truex as he's my favorite driver, I have definitely witnessed it first hand as I never will forget what the 22 did to the 78 at Martinsville that October evening. And naturally in the moment, I was heated, much like Truex. As I am also one of the fans who don't like the scenario of racing a guy clean for as long as Truex did with Logano, only to be raced the way Joey did on that last lap. But hey, that's just my opinion. Great work again on the video! 👏

He didn't get bullied, he raced guys hard and when they raced him the same way back he played victim. Notice how when a guy stands up for himself or has a reputation for standing up for himself he leaves them alone. Look how he has targeted guys like Hamlin, Elliott, Kenseth and Byron. All guys who don't have a history of standing up for themselves and 3 which were/are some of the cleanest drivers out there. If he was going after guys that had a history of being bullies I'd get that, but it's just not been the case. Joey isn't a guy defending himself, he just tries to make it seem like that. Which I think is what really annoys most people about him. A dirty driver who owns his driving is at least respected, Joey can't even own his style of racing.

I’m new to NASCAR, and I don’t really see him be as annoying as people claimed he used to be. Maybe he changed? I dunno. He is my new favorite driver though.
He has changed- The 2015 Martinsville wreck humbled him. He still gets into it every now and then with other drivers, but he chooses his battles more carefully.
Joey logano is not my favorite driver but I think that's the reason I can look at this with zero bias. I don't know how many of you have ever been the new kid in school and got picked on by the cool kids but you're pretty much putting a lose-lose situation if you don't stand up for yourself then you're a spineless wimp and they'll just walk all over you if you swing back all of a sudden you're some kind of like aggressive bad person. No one ever sees you get punched but everybody sees you punch back and they'll judge you for it.

I mean regardless of what Logano meant to do by turning Hamlin, its ultimately Hamlin fault that he ended up in rehab. He poked the bull and instigated a fight with a 2 ton steel death trap flying around a circle at 185 mph. The hell did he think was going to happen? The only reason Joey is the way he is, is because everyone kept pushing his buttons and he got tired of it. He stood up for himself. Whether the injuries sustained were intentional or not is meaningless, the only person Hamlin can place blame on is himself by instigating that fight. I was always a fan of 24 and 48 growing up, so I like the more clean cut drivers, but I can’t help but like Joey. He’s so much more likable to me than Dale Sr. was and worlds more likable than is Kyle Busch, even though he can also be a “bully” at times.

No, guys still wreck him. Joey has just gotten smarter at picking his victims. He finds guys that don't fight back. I hate to say it, but Joey has in a sense always been a bully. He races guys hard, but then gets mad when he gets raced the same way and uses it as an example to wreck a guy. Joey played the victim role for years and still tries to play it. For a while it worked, but as time has gone on people have caught on to it.
Joey's story is much like mine so obviously, I love him as a driver. I've never been a fan of a race car diver who wasn't bull-nosed aggressive. Nice guys do finish last or not at all.
I don't think most people's issue is with how he races, but rather how he doesn't own the type of driver he is and worse how he complains about drivers who race him aggressively.
In my opinion the only 2 things he has done on the track that people should be mad at is 2018 martivile but I say he is trying to race for a championship and thr win guarantee a shot at one so I don't blame him for that. And 2015 Kansas witch one could argue the same thing I just mention for martivile
I’m a big Logano fan (been a fan since 2009 when I was a little kid) and I agree about Kansas and 2018 Martinsville were dirty. I give 2018 a little bit of a pass because he needed to punch his way to the championship, but Kansas was 100% avoidable
There is no excuser to become everything you hated in others. Other people do not make us, we make ourselves. I guess Logano did not grow with a sense of limits. Kenseth became afather figure at the end.

Yes, villains are made, not born, and it's obvious the people within the sport mistreated him on some levels and pushed these characteristics out of him. But now that we're here, the reality is even the villain has an opportunity and a responsibility with how they are going to approach a situation. No one is 0% or 100% responsible. Obviously it's always speculation whether something was a good or bad call, and what is justified/unjustified. But my point is, we all can constantly work to do better, for each other and for ourselves.

I think if Joey owned up to his style of racing I could respect that. Guys like Busch and Hamlin are some of the more dirty drivers. Been annoyed by both over the years, but they atleast own up to their style of racing. For example, if a driver were to wreck a guy for a win I see nothing wrong with it since Nascar does allow it. I think it's dirty and I hate it more if it's my driver getting wrecked, but I can atleast respect the driver doing it when they own up to it and have no issue being raced the same way. Joey lacks big time in that department. When he does it he tends to come up with some lame excuse to justify his actions rather than just saying he wrecked them for a win. Then when guys do it back to him he whines about it and then seeks "revenge" and worse yet spews the same line of "I just want to be raced how I race others". I think that's where he gets most of his hate.
He runs into people then they run into him he starts complaining, when he does it its no big deal he laughs it up like its nothing. And he always hides behind his crew members when drivers go to confront him, fontana 2013, vegas 2017, martinsville 2019 just to name a few. When hamlin crashed at fontana he said “hes fine these cars are safe” didn’t say anything about newman, didn’t say anything about brendan gaughns flip but when he flipped at dega now its a big deal. Nobody had run ins with kenseth until logano did, he said kenseth blocked so he turned him but when he makes a stupid block its the other persons fault for not lifting, idk how people like him, even brad hated him so much hes leaving penske

He didn't get bullied, he raced guys hard and when they raced him the same way back he played victim. Notice how when a guy stands up for himself or has a reputation for standing up for himself he leaves them alone. Look how he has targeted guys like Hamlin, Elliott, Kenseth and Byron. All guys who don't have a history of standing up for themselves and 3 which were/are some of the cleanest drivers out there. If he was going after guys that had a history of being bullies I'd get that, but it's just not been the case. Joey isn't a guy defending himself, he just tries to make it seem like that. Which I think is what really annoys most people about him. A dirty driver who owns his driving is at least respected, Joey can't even own his style of racing.

I’m new to NASCAR, and I don’t really see him be as annoying as people claimed he used to be. Maybe he changed? I dunno. He is my new favorite driver though.
He has changed- The 2015 Martinsville wreck humbled him. He still gets into it every now and then with other drivers, but he chooses his battles more carefully.

Joey logano is not my favorite driver but I think that's the reason I can look at this with zero bias. I don't know how many of you have ever been the new kid in school and got picked on by the cool kids but you're pretty much putting a lose-lose situation if you don't stand up for yourself then you're a spineless wimp and they'll just walk all over you if you swing back all of a sudden you're some kind of like aggressive bad person. No one ever sees you get punched but everybody sees you punch back and they'll judge you for it.

I was just giving my two cents on the conversation of Joey logano, im saying I'm not a fan of his therefore I can be completely unbiased with my opinion and basically come to the same conclusion that Trevor did. I'm a staunch defender of Joey logano I feel like he's got a bad rap because he's not as good at representing himself with the fans as some of the drivers that he's had run ins with with and NASCAR fans are about as tribalistic as it can get in a situation has less to do with the facts and more to do with whichever driver they like the most. I think if you take Joey logano out of all of those stories insert Dale Earnhardt Jr or Chase Elliott nobody has a problem with any of those moves that were made on the racetrack.

I mean regardless of what Logano meant to do by turning Hamlin, its ultimately Hamlin fault that he ended up in rehab. He poked the bull and instigated a fight with a 2 ton steel death trap flying around a circle at 185 mph. The hell did he think was going to happen? The only reason Joey is the way he is, is because everyone kept pushing his buttons and he got tired of it. He stood up for himself. Whether the injuries sustained were intentional or not is meaningless, the only person Hamlin can place blame on is himself by instigating that fight. It’s like walking up to a bear after smothering yourself in fish guts. Just asking for trouble. I really like your videos man, I know this is from like a year ago but still. Production quality is amazing, keep it up!

I was always a fan of 24 and 48 growing up, so I like the more clean cut drivers, but I can’t help but like Joey. He’s so much more likable to me than Dale Sr. was and worlds more likable than is Kyle Busch, even though he can also be a “bully” at times.

No, guys still wreck him. Joey has just gotten smarter at picking his victims. He finds guys that don't fight back. I hate to say it, but Joey has in a sense always been a bully. He races guys hard, but then gets mad when he gets raced the same way and uses it as an example to wreck a guy. Joey played the victim role for years and still tries to play it. For a while it worked, but as time has gone on people have caught on to it.
People hate Logano even more when he wins the title. I just don't know why

Joey's story is much like mine so obviously, I love him as a driver. I've never been a fan of a race car diver who wasn't bull-nosed aggressive. Nice guys do finish last or not at all.
I don't think most people's issue is with how he races, but rather how he doesn't own the type of driver he is and worse how he complains about drivers who race him aggressively.
In my opinion the only 2 things he has done on the track that people should be mad at is 2018 martivile but I say he is trying to race for a championship and thr win guarantee a shot at one so I don't blame him for that. And 2015 Kansas witch one could argue the same thing I just mention for martivile

I’m a big Logano fan (been a fan since 2009 when I was a little kid) and I agree about Kansas and 2018 Martinsville were dirty. I give 2018 a little bit of a pass because he needed to punch his way to the championship, but Kansas was 100% avoidable

I think if Joey had just stood up for himself a little earlier he wouldn't be the villan, if he stood up for him self earlier theb the others would have stopped doing it so much, and then he would have less to retaliate to.

Good video! As somewhat of a Logano fan, while I recognize what created this behavior with him, and can see his point, I still don't agree with it. Yes, villains are made, not born, and it's obvious the people within the sport mistreated him on some levels and pushed these characteristics out of him. But now that we're here, the reality is even the villain has an opportunity and a responsibility with how they are going to approach a situation. No one is 0% or 100% responsible. Obviously it's always speculation whether something was a good or bad call, and what is justified/unjustified. But my point is, we all can constantly work to do better, for each other and for ourselves.

I think if Joey owned up to his style of racing I could respect that. Guys like Busch and Hamlin are some of the more dirty drivers. Been annoyed by both over the years, but they atleast own up to their style of racing. For example, if a driver were to wreck a guy for a win I see nothing wrong with it since Nascar does allow it. I think it's dirty and I hate it more if it's my driver getting wrecked, but I can atleast respect the driver doing it when they own up to it and have no issue being raced the same way. Joey lacks big time in that department. When he does it he tends to come up with some lame excuse to justify his actions rather than just saying he wrecked them for a win. Then when guys do it back to him he whines about it and then seeks "revenge" and worse yet spews the same line of "I just want to be raced how I race others". I think that's where he gets most of his hate.

It‘s sad to see how Joey became the bully of Nascar. As a Kenseth fan, seeing Matt get spun by Logano was heartbreaking and enraging. Matt did a bad block, but was still pretty dumb how Logano could‘ve passed him clean. I have warmed up to him, but he‘s still my least favorite Penske driver.

The difference lies in those who accept the shit with humility and drive to do better who become the true heroes and leaders in their expertise and those who are arrogant and proud who turn villainous and cruel.
You say that Logano had no choice but to bully them back. No. He could have just gone out and beat them like other great racers did before them. The right to "bully them back" is never ever earned.
