Man your video is a great run through there is a pile of videos with low gain and no solos or heavy riffs so this is the demonstration I was searching for thank you !!! IF you had to give your absolute favourite dialed in setting which one would it be in this whole video for metal rock soloing ? Your wah sound at the 5:50 -612 min mark is exactly what I want ! Finally WHEN YOU SAY DOWN AND UP ONE SETTING WITH THE CHROME DIAL THAT IS FROM WHICH DIRECTION COUNTER CLOCKWISE OR CLOCKWISE ?!?! Thanks again man cheers !
Thanks heaps mate!! Yeah noticed that a while ago n I got fed up with basically seeing the same demo all the time, the funk riff, and some little lead bit n that was it. So thats how i got into doing these demos....Ill be doing a DOD Gunslinger pedal demo in the next day or so if your interested. So the chrome dial on the side, when I say up its in its highest position(very trebley) and slowly working my down to lower tone settings. My faveourite settings I actually mention at 2:10. I tended to set the chrome dial in either the 4th or second lowest setting, with the q control set around the middle the boost where ever I never noticed a huge difference there.
I appreciate the video and in the end I managed to understand what you're doing. But for future reference, you might wanna actually show on camera the positions of the selector knob as you're going through the positions. In this, the knob is facing away from the camera and one has to decipher form your hand and wrist movements in which direction you're turning it. Also at the very start of the video the q and boost knobs were outside the frame as you were explaining them. Anyway, though a bit frustrating still it was helpful and your playing is none too shabby so thanks for the info and cheers.
Trying to get that early kreator cocked wah sound blasted through a couple crybabys one of which i took the buffer out and a cock fight not blown away. typically using a wah into a tube pilot OD pedal to boost or cut my signal but im wondering if a boost before the wah will kick it into high gear ?
Cool vid, man. I was curious if you would make a video of a rig rundown. Wanted to know what you use for effects and of your amp. Thanks, and keep up the awesome work. Greeting from Texas.
I recently got a 535Q and have noticed that when using a clean sound with the pedal engaged turning the selector switch makes a loud pop through my amp. Is this a common problem?
Aaron Mifsud really? I have a Cry Baby that I bought in the late 90’s and never knew this. It doesn’t work too well nowadays and has scratchy noised coming from it now but I had it in storage for about 18 years and need it now for a band I’m in. I hated the fact that when its patched in with all my other pedals, it makes the higher frequencies piercing as hell and would manually connect/disconnect it. Never knew all I had to do was turn it off. I guess I’ll give it away for free to someone that could use it and maybe try to fix it but now, I’m looking forward to gettin getting that 535q!
Hey honestly im not sure but dime used a lot of the rack mounted stuff during his career also was there a specific album wah sound you were chasing? But I would say try a lower ranger with a pretty narrow Q to make it a bit more exaggerated. I hope that helps
Hey, this would be my DBZ Venom with a Duncan Invader in the bridge and a D-activator x in the neck. Amp is my old JCM800 (its actually a 1959 though) with a eq and overdrive
Why do single coil p/u's respond to wah's better than humbuckers? Single coils provide more range and more sweep for reasons unknown to me. Any idea why?
Ummmm obviously the 535 has heaps of options, but at the same time I like the simplicity of the JH1. The 535 actually annoyed me at times with the amount of options.
How would the original cry baby hold up ? I wanna get my brother his first pedal for Christmas so buying a cheaper one makes more sense to see if he likes it
the original ones are fine mate. You just dont get all the options which can be a good thing at times to, ya not spending ya time dialing knobs. more time to play
A bit late to the convo, but here's my take on it I own both 535q and gcb95. The 95 sounds great and you don't need to make any adjustments, it just is what it is. Pretty much half the price too. Solid choice.
was thinking of getting a kirk, but idk if it would be worth it. i dont know that many songs with wah but the ones i do know are metallica and electric funeral by sabbath. would you recommend the kirk or would you save money by just getting the original?
Hey, to be honest I havent played one of the kirk wahs. The kirk wah will obviously give you that newer kirk sound, however im sure on the early stuff he was just using a standard wah so thats maybe something to consider. The 535 will cover all bases for ya im sure and its got the fasel inductor. I supposes its how much ya wanna spend and what era of his wah sound ya like. I hope that helps mate
Just bought this pedal wanted the zakk wylde wah but it's discontinued... any settings for it? I know it's more dark and bassy but also high on the toe end I been using it on position 4 with the q full boost on 2 or 3
Really its discontinued? You'll get a Zakk type setting on this set to about the second lowest wah range and set with a narrow q to taste. I tended to use mine on the second lowest wah stetting or the one above that, q was set to about 3/4

Genial!! Muchas gracias!!! 🇪🇦🤘😆🎸🤘🇪🇦
Symptom of the universe!
holy fuck! i've spent months looking for low tuned wah's and this is exactly what i wanted
Glad i could help mate
thank you!
Great demo. It's the only one that properly explains the Q control.
I recently got a 535Q and have noticed that when using a clean sound with the pedal engaged turning the selector switch makes a loud pop through my amp. Is this a common problem?
Yeah i guess it is mine does the same
Thank you Aaron a few people have said the same, but that a side i still love it! Cheers for the great demo
No worries mate!! Thanks for checking out the vid
Mine does as well!
It's more than likely swapping capacitors - this is normal
Cool review! What delay are you using? Cheers
Thanks mate! Carbon copy delay
I’m getting this soon mainly because I can turn it on/off. Are there any other wah pedals that can be turned on/off as well?
Pretty much any wah thats not a Morely

@@XxStonedImmaculatexX Oh yep the 95Q wah?
Aaron Mifsud dude I dont even know. Back when I bought it, I thought it was the only Wah lol didn’t know there were so many different models!
Aaron Mifsud just saw a video about the 95q. No, thats not it, mine was plain, had no side controls/buttons etc.
Nice pedals .Dunlop, mxr .and boss....now, added some kicks , with ....need to known. More....( noise will kill '
how can you dial in a dimebag Darrell wah sound?
Hey honestly im not sure but dime used a lot of the rack mounted stuff during his career also was there a specific album wah sound you were chasing? But I would say try a lower ranger with a pretty narrow Q to make it a bit more exaggerated. I hope that helps
Great video, thanks ❤
No worries! Thanks for watching
I've been thinking of getting one but I'm afraid of it breaking, I heard a guy had one and when ever he had toe down it cut the signal.
+Hunter Stockton Id say more then likely there was a problem with the switch or the pot. Overall there a pretty solid unit
+Aaron Mifsud That's what I thought too, do you know if it's true bypass, I know the GCB95 isn't.
+Hunter Stockton I dont think so mate. But pots and switches arent a major mod
+Aaron Mifsud Thanks man! I've already watch a video on changing the switch to a true bypass one, looks like a simple soldering job.
No prob mate! Good luck with the soldering!!
Hey thanks for the video, it was pretty helpful. What guitar and amp were you using?
Hey, this would be my DBZ Venom with a Duncan Invader in the bridge and a D-activator x in the neck. Amp is my old JCM800 (its actually a 1959 though) with a eq and overdrive
What settings would you recommend to match the petrucci wah sound
honestly i got no idea i havent even seen a JP wah in person
Aaron Mifsud ok thanks anyway
No worries mate. Sorry bout that
Fucking Amazing!!! If someday I meet you, I will give you a cold beer!
+Alberto Eber Casafranca Carmelo dude that is the best comment ive had!! thanks mate!!!

How do you like the 535Q compared to the JH-1?
Ummmm obviously the 535 has heaps of options, but at the same time I like the simplicity of the JH1. The 535 actually annoyed me at times with the amount of options.
+Aaron Mifsud Did you find there was a setting on the 535 that came close to the JH?
Yeah for sure the second lowest setting will give ya that type of sound, kind of like the Zakk wah
is there even any diff between this and the dime wah
Apparently there a few subtle differences but Ive got them side by side
Great demo 👍
Thanks mate
just ordered this ped and this sounds insane

como logras ese ultimo sonido?
??
Aaron Mifsud he ment how did you get that last sound
Ah pinch harmonic + Dive + wah= \m/
Is this pedal true bypass?
The owners manual call it a Hardwire bypass. heres a link vidweb.aws.marketlive.com/jimdunlop_vid/text/content/pdp/manuals/535Q.pdf
just found one of these on Facebook marketplace for $40.
Was it legit
@@drakefischer5451 yeah it worked great, my boss bought me ernie ball wah pedal i like a bit more like one week after i got this one. haha

hey is your boost working fine? mine doesnt work all the time
Hey mate, Yeah Ive never had a problem with mine. plus mine mostly sits in the cupboard nowa days.
This guy is selling one of these on Craigslist for $80. I'm thinking of going for it.
