A big fine How'd ya DO when I got home! Eye Oh! Way's Great Adventureland Park. I have a lovely press kit from this park. It's a very charming park. Lost Island will look great once the trees grow in. Hopkins built nearly a dozen coasters. One in my home state of Texas (Texas Tornado) Their flumes were the BEST! Thanks for bringing a smile to my face!

I have nostalgia bubbling up out me now, i love the direction Adventureland is moving. The last few years have been trying, yet still i see the vision the new owners want to instill, it makes me happy.
Adventureland will always hold a major place in my heart, as a boy growing up, making it with a girl around the corner behind the hedge 😊, all the good times. That's what it's all about, those old school vibes of good times.

Tornado is a classic from the "silver age of roller coasters" and yes Dragon was uhmmm "riding in a shopping cart down the side of a cliff" simulation ride.

Parachutes used to be called Der Flinger (way better name) then palace changed the name :(
Also the Dragon had some really bad transitions but the drop, the loops, and the double helix where all great elements and suprisingly forceful

went there growing up. aint been there since 94 maybe since before college then moving away. the Durflitzer was my fist ever coaster when i finally got brave enough. then loved it and road it bunch of times. then next time we went year or 2 later it was gone. so tried super screamer. loved it and road a bunch then next time i went it was gone. road dragon bunch times last 2 times there ever. yeah other2 coasters were better. dragon was 2 loops and that was it. hit them so fast that from top of climb to end of ride was like 10 seconds. i likes ladyluck and light house and the tilt a whirl. id make my pod spin like crazy shifting my or our weight at the right moment. i broke a bumper car as a teen my lunging my weight forward as about to hit someone causing a massive hit to the other people. i used same green # car each time if i could. went on it like dozen times in a row with some other kids i met there. later that night when i went back to ride some more the car i had road earlier was broke down off to the side. i was like did i have something to do with that? Outlaw was the coolest coaster there when it opened. early 80s they had these old cars you could drive with a center rail to keep them from going off the road other wise you could freely drive and steer them. also had a haunted house ride on what would become dragon island. the infant ocean and couple other little kid rides came from an old park on an island in the river there in des moines or something. the chair lift came from like north or south dakota state fair or some state fair. I thought silly silo closed in 90s cause my sister and I finally tried it once as the last ride before we left that year then next time we went it said closed. but maybe just for a while for repairs. we moved and never went back after that so we only got to ride it once. we both got to go up on stage 2 different years for the dolphin show where the underground is now. she also got to be levitated on stage by ben ulin. they used to broadcast a game show from stage where dolphins and high dive was at where underground is now. They had a circus before the water park where water park is at for a year or 2 but we had already moved. the year before the falling star for 1 year only they had an identical ride called the rainbow at that location. not sure why they switched dad won a lantern playing bingo 1 night. bingo was usually a must stop end of the night, though i didnt care much for it. last time there i was old enough they turned me loose on my own or part of day with my little sister while parents watched shows and dad played games. it was cooler day and sprinkled off and on so only half the people were there. we road dragon like 10 times straight with no line. get off, run down, around, back up and get right back on almost. Id get to cut in line on raging river and others when i was alone cause i hold 1 finger up in air waving until ride operator saw me and waved me up when they had room for 1 or 2 more to fill it. so that was a perk of running around alone. it was the happiest place on earth as a kid.

This brought back a lot of memories. Anyway you could make a short video of all the pictures from 2003-04? That was during the last time I was there.

Well done video! I concur w the other comment about the Dragon, you didn't miss anything other than potential brain damage from your head bouncing between the hard as a rock shoulder restraints.
