I like that someone made this, Adventure Land is a small - ish park and whenever I go there I see people from far states coming there. I’m an Iowan so it’s pretty nice to see someone made this. My favorite ride is probably the Outlaw.
It's one of my favorite wooden coasters. The first drop still makes me wonder how the train doesn't just come off the rails. Didn't know a wooden coasters could turn like that!

There are some 1970s home movies on TH-cam that show some of those. There's also some home video from the 1980s that shows The Rainbow. I didn't really know anything about these older rides until a few years ago, and now I have tried to document them on my Park Hopping dot com Wiki.

Here were some changes made to the park’s lineup of attractions: 2018: The new Bernie’s Barnyard kids area features two new rides: a Metallbau Emmeln Pony Trek called Junior Jockeys and a Skyline Crazy Couch named Shakin’ Bacon. 2019: The Phoenix spinning coaster was added in the former location of the Inverter. 2020: Dragon, the Hopkins double looping coaster, as well as Splash Over, were both removed. 2021: Dragon Slayer, an S&S 4D Free Spin coaster was added to the park, located where Dragon’s end helix once sat. A new children’s ride called Runabouts stood in the former location of Puff Dragons, now called Dragon’s Nest, as it was moved next to the new Dragon Slayer. Also, the 2021 season saw the unfortunate and abrupt demise of the park’s Raging River ride, as a boat on the ride capsized resulting in one death and several injuries. 2022: Adventureland, now owned by Parques Reunidos subsidiary Palace Entertainment, announced the addition of nine family/children’s rides as well as the removal of three classics: Falling Star, Lady Luck, and Lighthouse. The Sky Ride was also SBNO for the 2022 season, and was officially taken down the very next year. This was also the final operating season for the Balloon Race and Himalaya. 2023: Adventureland made an announcement regarding two new, Nordic-themed rides: a family roller coaster named Flying Viking and an updated flume ride called Draken Falls.
Adventureland was literally my childhood!!! i remember that we used to come here like every week because we used to get season passes every year 😁 what happened to the good old days?!?!
Loved Adventureland in the 70's. I remember the two smaller rollercoasters they had back then, and the log ride. Now that I'm older I wish they would have the dolphin show and more stuff like that.

i broke a bumper car 1 year as a kid. met some other kids there and we hung out on bumper cars over and over for an hr. i got in same 1 each time. i used knowledge of physics to lunge car into others harder than normal. later in day went back to bumper cars for 1 more ride before going home and car i was in earlier was off to side broke. ok technically it didnt break while i was in it so cant blame me but i had a feeling how rough i drove it was a leading cause. lol

Run down and back up and get on almost right away again. Almost no line. Probably road 6 times straight. Other than 2 loops there wasn't really much to the rest. It's pretty boring compared to other coasters now days. Adventureland needs a rotating coaster like the time machine at silver dollar city down here in Branson.
my favorite rides are the tornado, sidewinder, and the underground. the underground isn't too scary for me anymore, but fun. I love the tornado and sidewinder! Can't wait to go to Adventureland in a little over a week from now!
Inverter was torn down this year 😢 but it broke down a lot so it makes sense why they took it down EDIT 2020: the Inverter was replaced by the Phoenix, and its really fun!!!😁
Trailer Mashup Production i have talked to a couple of employees and they all say it will be awhile before they get something too big cause of monster. I am personally hoping for a sky rocket II in the place of inverter. It would give them another coaster and also a launch coaster!
Is it touring with a carnival in Iowa? And what do you mean by "more extreme?" I am not sure if I ever rode it when it was at Adventureland, since I don’t do spiny rides these days, but it was so iconic… especially with the sound it made. (didn’t it run on a gas engine?)
I saw this ride going at a fair in Manchester, Iowa. It goes higher off the ground with each blast than it did at A-Land. It also runs on a hydraulic motor.
My best friend Elise can't take spinning rides because they make her feel sick. So, when I took her to Adventureland last summer, she didn't like the Der Flinger and Falling Star. Instead, we spent most of our time riding the Underground.
Well, I take the Falling Star thing back. She didn't hate the Falling Star like the Der Flinger, but it wasn't like she liked it. But, it was better than the Der Flinger.
As of 2022 the raging river has been takin down and is being replaced with a log ride because of an accident Also the falling star has been takin down and is being replaced by something called “invasion” I think and it is coming in 2023
Dude…Draken Falls is not going in the former plot of land of Raging River. I’m sure Adventureland will figure something out for a new attraction in that land area.
my younger brother evan cant take spinning rides so when i took him to adventureland in 2015,he didn't like the der flinger and falling star so,we spent most of our time riding the sidewinder
well,i take the thing about the der flinger back.he didn't hate the der flinger like the falling star,but it wasn't that he liked it.but it was better than the falling star cuz he absolutely HATED the falling star
I didn't move to Iowa until 1995, but I have learned they had a carnival-style dark ride that came from Riverview Park. It was on the area today known as Dragon Island in the building that is now the queue for The Dragon roller coaster. It was a Funni Frite brand ride.

2 people died in 2 separate incidents. One was an employee who slipped and hit his head.

I have managed to find the old Lighthouse on the carnival circuit, where it is running a lot more extreme than it has at A-Land.

For such a lame looking, carnival type ride, the first time I was on it I was blown away by how fun it was!! It's become a goofy favorite of mine.
Me and my friends went on der flinger,gal lean, falling star, lady luck, lighthouse, raging river, tilt a whirl(I love that one), underground,
the underground queue is really starting to show it's age. then again it's been a decade since i have been on it, to that it to be expected.

Im not sure one or two accidents in 40 years would do much. Log Ride went away when they could no longer get parts to fix it.
hopefully that’s the case! i hope it opens again for its 2022 season because i love the raging river!
u should update this in 2020 they will have 4 new rides the pheonix and the ones in bernies barnyard and maybe other yet to be announced this winter
