"Oh no,Dimentio has the Chaos Heart! Let me just suck his Colors away real quick..." "Bowser is now invincible thanks to the Star Rod! Too bad Hole Punch ate it and it's practically useless now..."
So, get this: In my first battle with Scissors, on my first turn after he removed the cover, I made a route that took me to an action panel, picking up an extra move along the way. Thinking his blades were considered “spiked”, I pick two Legendary Iron Boot attacks. Mario makes the first jump- BAM! Mario was sliced in half upon contact. 999 damage. Instant KO. But I had a 1-UP Mushroom on me, so I was revived. Then I remembered I selected TWO Legendary Iron Boots. You can probably guess what happened next.
The amount of stress and anxiety I have when scissors’ blades are wide open and his body coming at you with full speed and you are not allowed to miss is so overwhelming

the boss fight is much more difficult if you break the cover first. there are no magic circles AT ALL, and the one you can use does nothing. alongside that, it's very rare you'll ever get a + action or X attack panel. you just have to learn all his movements, get ready in case he decides to juke you out, and pray that your legendary hammers will see through to the end. if not, you may as well give in, because that means you have little to no chance of winning. take this from someone who actually had to do the boss fight like this.

I felt so goddamn cool during this fight cuz I was able to constantly freeze him and the one time he caught me off guard I somehow jumped right before the attack
Ngl, seeing Bowser in that state really puts him in his place. Maybe Peach should learn how to fold like that, so she wouldn't have to keep calling Mario all the time. Seriously, plumbers aren't supposed to be knights, y'know
Wow! This is like the only time I’ve seen Kamek nice to Mario. Same with Bowser and his son. Well unlike the origami king, Mario and Bowser are actually more of a committed relationship. They are nothing without each other and need each other. Having a nemesis is a huge commitment and if the enemy antagonizes another good guy, the original hero will feel heartbroken.
0:45 *This* is how a boss with an advantage fairly fights: by covering their advantage! A good fight is a fight where the boss and the player are on equal footing
The fight gets REALLY tense once the sheath is gone, especially since its not the same timing every time, Scissors WILL try to throw you off your game, and the instant it hits a single attack, you're flat out dead. And if you break the sheath early, the game takes that as you challenging yourself and thus, removes the Vellumental Circles, meaning you HAVE to be confident in your ability to dodge multiple instant kill attacks, for multiple turns straight, as you whittle down Scissors' HP, knowing one mistake is outright fatal.
Me and my friend playing Rock, Paper, Scissors. I choose Paper, he chooses Scissors. Friend: I win. Me: *Shows this video of a piece of paper, smashing the shit out of a giant sentient pair of scissors* Check. Mate. Friend: *Surprised Pikachu Face*
I beat him the hard way. I broke his cover immediately by accident by using the 1,000-Fold Arms rush attack. If you do that, he cuts all the magic circles every turn, so the only way to win is to dodge his Final Cut and hit him with Hammer attacks. I think Fire/Ice Flower works too.

No legit that’s what happened to me my first time with scissors. Rookie mistake on my part.
I really thought the iron boots would resist the instant kill damage when it tilted upwards when he jumped but boy was I so wrong. So much so that I was like "WHAT BUT IRON SHOES ARE RESISTANT TO SHARP THINGS"
Well, the boots are still paper.

🍄: Oh, I don't think so...
i used i 1-up mush on this fight right before i could get the final blow, and when i revived from the dead just after he killed me and i killed him it felt badass ( i had broken the cover from the start so i made it STUPID UNESSICARLY difficult on myself)
I did the same, except I died right before the final hit. I've never been so heated to a singleplayer game my whole life
the boss fight is much more difficult if you break the cover first. there are no magic circles AT ALL, and the one you can use does nothing. alongside that, it's very rare you'll ever get a + action or X attack panel. you just have to learn all his movements, get ready in case he decides to juke you out, and pray that your legendary hammers will see through to the end. if not, you may as well give in, because that means you have little to no chance of winning. take this from someone who actually had to do the boss fight like this.
It's crazy how not breaking the guard makes the fight a hundred times easier
when the most powerful tool in a game becomes the enemy
my heart was pounding
4:22 Mario Died and Revived
4:41 my heart was pounding hard the first time this attack happened
Jokes on you I had mini heart attacks every time I needed to avoid those
I cant get away from the fact that how SCISSORS. is so intimidating in a Paper Mario game, One hit and you're dead.
6:43 The water is phasing through the ice.
12:03 The ice teleported back to the ground before being thrown into the air.
Favorite boss in the game so far. Only reason he took me 2 tries was because I didn't think I'd still get one shot when trying to use Iron Boots on his blades lol
get ready for hell when you fight Stapler lol
@@ClaireGirlJ I didn't find Stapler too bad. You just spam jump attacks then do fold arms while he's reloading
Iron Boots were still made out of paper.
4:20 Iron Boots ain’t going to save you from that damage lmao.
I like how when scissors has his cover on he just starts dancing
Game: Do not break the cover!
Me: Don't tell me what to do!
Game: You'll die...
Me: Wanna bet?
Game: ...
Me: *Wins fight the hard way*
Scissors: *No comment, too shocked to talk or move*
Mario: *gets cut in half*
Toads and Olivia: OMG MARIO
1 UP: *hello*
You’re just dead if you touch the blades
Please tell me im not the only one that I laughed so hard of how at the end of the fight i managed to beat the Scissors and after I did, it just became shocked without saying a word and then dies. Hard fight, but worth the outcome XD.
I really like a honorable fight so I just broke his cover first move and fought Scissors with just hammer attacks
I wonder if they made the scissors green to make a throwback to the first thing sticker in sticker star
they probably did lol
I fought this fight while replaying the game and not a single velumental card appeared for the fight so I beat him by spamming hurl hammers and it killed him 😂
0:38 Puyo Puyo Tetris flashbacks
On that day, Mario and Olivia destroyed the natural order.
4:23 That's a Lot of Damage!
Word of advice: Don’t even try using the iron boots on scissors because if you do your as good as sliced. I learned that the hard way...
So does the player in the video
Good thing he had a 1-Up
I think he’s mad because he didn’t make the cut in color splash
I felt so goddamn cool during this fight cuz I was able to constantly freeze him and the one time he caught me off guard I somehow jumped right before the attack
Paper Mario: *avoids final cut*
Scissors: You Weren’t supposed to do that.
Quite sure mushrooms aren't supposed to cure getting cut in half, but what do i know.
How did that 1-UP even put Mario together anyway
dark magic
Dude, you just described the relationship between Perry and Doofenshmirtz.
@@RealSirMikaythere’s also Gumball and Rob in the amazing world of Gumball and Batman and Joker in The Lego Batman Movie.
Never in my life have I’ve ever been scared by a pair of green scissors

Friend: I win.
Me: *Shows this video of a piece of paper, smashing the shit out of a giant sentient pair of scissors* Check. Mate.
Friend: *Surprised Pikachu Face*
Game: WARNING DO NOT BREAK COVER
me: oh is that a challenge
me five minutes later: **crying in the corner** shit shit
I’ve never been so stressed out by a pair of scissors in my entire life.
He was a good boss, I have to say.
Agreed
It dies without honor...
The only boss that does... OVER 9000 damage!

I'm getting Dungeon Guardian vibes:
You can still fight, but if you mess up once it's an instant death
But at least scissors takes more than one damage for every hit
I beat him the hard way. I broke his cover immediately by accident by using the 1,000-Fold Arms rush attack. If you do that, he cuts all the magic circles every turn, so the only way to win is to dodge his Final Cut and hit him with Hammer attacks. I think Fire/Ice Flower works too.
12:10 Paper beats scissors. There’s a twist.
I'll be straight. This fight IS intimidating! And we all probably know why!
Who's with me on this one??
This boss literally made my spine shiver. But I did beat it first try. I loved that this boss gave me a true challenge. This game is the best!
Thank you
