This guy is right! We took it as a compliment of Netflix and you know what?! We already watching it more often.

Paradox of choice is right. I often get so overwhelmed by the vast selection of titles that most of them end up in a watchlist and are never seen.
I know I'm in the minority but I like when other people pick out media for me. Their business model will force me to actually watch the film

@Statler N. Waldorf trust me... you have much bigger problems in life than the streaming habits of a TH-cam commenter if that's your outlook on life.

Hell, even with Mubi's limited choices, I still get overwhelmed and don't know which one to watch lol

DAMN!! I'm Malaysian. What he said is VERY ACCURATE about the Malaysian (and sometimes Singapore) entertainment industry!

Isn't Criterion kind of similar to Mubi in terms of content? There's far more content on Criterion Channel for a lower monthly fee. Mubi has some exclusive films though.

But Criterion doesn't operate in that many countries

leaving Netflix today and going to MUBI. "cut through the noise" is soft language for "cut through the crap" As netlike tries to make everyone happy, this client is exhausted navigating though all the garage content to find the gems. I wish MUBI would couple with the Film Forum

The thinking behind the curating service doesn't really make sense to me.
Even assuming he's right about consumers of specialty media subscriptions needing help choosing what to watch, doesn't it still make more sense to have an entire catalog? I mean, to go back to his analogy about the video store guy, the dude might recommend you a single title, but it's not like his entire store only had 30 movies.

+Bloomberg, can you just type people's names normally?!!! Just because you don't know the right key on the keyboard doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

I love MUBI but Jesus Christ I don’t pay £9.99 a month for solely short films every flipping day.

Then try it out again. There are now mostly full length movies. A lot of amazing ones right now.

A service that only offers 30 films. Yep that's an investment opportunity. NOT!
