To do it perfectly I give you 3-YEARS to redo from the frame up restoration of that Beautiful STAGE-1 BUICK GS. Good Luck and may the lord bless you and everyone else who helps you!
The 1972 skylark gs was our family car when I was a little kid. We drove it from Long Island to Broward County to Minneapolis and back to Broward. Troopers liked it.
It's going to be difficult and very expensive to find everything for the car in order to restore, or restomod it, but if you can afford it, it will be an awesome and fun ride. If you can't find a useable Stage 1 or that one is no good, then buy a Stage 1 from TA Performance and buy some Stage 2 heads and headers if you want a runner, and if you can afford it buy their aluminum block. You will have one strong car, that they don't make anymore. My brother had a white 1972 Stage 1 no vinal top to rust out the back glass and, and it was in mint condition. It out ran almost everything on the street at that time in the late 70s and early 80s.
Pressure wash it mate, i was in Americas east coast as a kid on hollidays with my parents in 73/74/ and saw skylarks everywhere, what a beautifull car and i would be happy with a 350ci 2bbl car if it had floor shift and factory bucket seats.. my dream, a beige car with a tan vinyl top. I hope this car doesnt get painted BLACK with BLACK wheels and BLACK chrome OR AN LS SWAP, or Flames, steve in Australia
I have a 1972 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 Coupe. #'s matching drivetrain. Th400 3.42 posi A/C. How is the Restoration going? Get it running and driving first, that will keep u motivated. Do a " will it start" video.
Stage 1 4-sp. - Def. worth the effort! I'm prob. going to have to get that shift boot reproduced. I need 2 for my cars. Year One used to make the correct boot but is discontinued.
You're probably right! But I took it as an opportunity to assess the car after a few decades as well as clean it. Also driveway too steep to push the car back up hahaha
Who allowed this car to get like this and why? Comp Cams has a cam # 96-210-4 when rebuilding this 455 that should be looked at when rebuilding this engine.
In 1970 the GSX came in ONLY 2 colors, Apollo White and Saturn Yellow, but in 71, and 72, they could be ordered in other colors. I know that this one is not a GSX, but it looks like it is white, and sold white with black stripes like an original GSX are beautiful, no vinal top please don't put that rust maker back on it unless you are going to the trouble of spending a fortune to restore this thing to original, but it's all up to you and how much money you have to spend on the car.

Power bench seat,4speed and A/C this looks like a rare car.
This is an ambitious project, courage to all YT Buick followers!😁
This is an instant subscription, little talking, a lot of doing👍
Thanks for saving her!
I will be following along with interest. Have you run the numbers to see what the as built state was? Gotta like a 4-speed bench car.
The engine alone would be a great find in itself, but to have the car is awesome.

Especially Indiana state troopers.

Yup. Nice to actually have it! In good condition too!
Where are you guys? Looks like a great start! Nice find! Subbed!

Nice car, seems like a pressure washer would have saved a lot of time.

Nice cleanup, most guys would have just hit it with detergent and a power washer.
Hey, at least you got the air cleaner with it… that’s one of the harder and more expensive parts to find.
Especially considering that the 1972 455 air cleaner is a one year only item thanks to the smog pump.
@@stevencovington4715 yea and that year it was made of plastic so it broke much easier than the earlier fiberglass ones.

Holy sonic balls!.. I have a question.. what makes it a stage 1?.. i don’t understand the meaning of that someone please explain to me!
I found my 72 GS in the woods hood top trunk looked like your hood
As bad of shape as this car is in, at least you have a platform to start with!
Esta é a legítima "meia sola" das piores!
Need more videos
