A saddle and stand combo is an effective set up. I don't know why some people insist on them being separate. I'd suggest you also look into a ring of steps as well. You can use it on its own or in conjunction with various platforms or even a stand. A ros can really increase your shot opportunities in certain trees.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors I like that I can use my saddle set up, platform sticks and also my climber. I think I may bite the bullet and get a really small lightweight tree stand that way I can do everything with just one piece of equipment. Plus, a small tree stand would be so much more comfortable than some of those saddle platforms.
When you do the full review can you touch on a comparison between it and the Dryad Killdeer or make a separate comparison video? Deciding between the two
I honestly am not a fan of magnets while hunting just for the reason they could mess with a compass. Matthew is a genius. I’m assuming it was latitude outdoors that had the issue, great saddle I have one but they use magnets. Which is funny because the latitude guys are the ones who recommended TX5 packs to me lol
Thats a good point about the magnets. Honestly the magnets were super cool idea but im glad he figured a good way to work around it. Matt is a sewing wizard. Im not sure if it was latitude or not but your probably right since they are the only other company I know of that uses them.
What size saddle did you go with? I'm a 40 inch waist but I plan to run the saddle with my lwcg .5 and on website it says get a small if you plan to run it with a lock on. Wondering should I go large or the small? This will be my first saddle. I've been running the rock climbing harness and i wana switch to saddle instead.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors it has load bearing leg straps and the integrated saddle that you can take off if you want and the price the tx5 doesn’t have load bearing leg straps
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors I just think you get more bang for your buck. Heck even the LWCG is near this price point. I personally don’t see me spending $300 on a piece of cloth.
@Nate Hyde gotcha, this saddle is really intented to be used in conjunction with a stand, you can then lean in the saddle when you dont wanna sit or stand. It really just gives you more comfort options.
Have an Overwatch Transformer for saddle specific sits but looking for a ‘hybrid’ setup for sitting on a stand and get away from a harness - contemplating this or Dryad Killdeer. Any opinions on either of these two, or anything you may have tested since this video? Comfort and ease of use are of the utmost priority.

I have a ROS! Maybe ill play with it some and see how it could worl together.
I'm upgrading to this! Thank you MGO. Good stuff. I've been looking for a minimal bulk type rig.
Good choice! This is what I run all season now from a tree stand. I love this thing, more that the Dryad.

That's what I use primarily is a LWCG .5 for hybrid style hunting. I think its the best of both worlds.
I believe the little sleeve over the buckle is to reduce jiggle noise. Kind of how you pointed out on the leg staps in the lonestar video.
Good point!!

I had this on the list last year but never got to it...
Yep, I like how your holding your judgment till you actually have some use out of the saddle.
Yeah, I try to at least try the gear before making up my mind.
Fantastic harness, I’ve fully enjoyed mine!
I spent about 4-5 hours total in mine yesterday and im throughly impressed man!
Great video brother.
Thank you!
I’ve been checking everyday 2x a day waiting for the it’s pouch review. Please do it soon
For the new lone wolf pouch?
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors tx5 kYSS pouch
@@lindsayshay293 gotcha, ok. Soon
Great unboxing vid 🤘
Thank you man.
Going to have to think about getting one!
I like it a lot!!
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors Yeah definitely need to get one! Just subscribed to the channel man!
Anything further with the TX5 Minimalist saddle?
I know... I need to make an update video. Ive used it a bunch this summer testing out other gear and I plan on running it in my .5 this season.
Will you do a review on the new traeger timberline XLgrill ?
Yeah send me one 😂😂
Which set up would you choose between this and the Killdeer
I hunt out of my climber and fixed stands. I will not be using a bow it’s only for gun. Ty
I like the minimalist better I fell its more versatile.

I go with the XL size I have a 38: waist
It’s nice but the dryad killdeer hybrid kit beats it still but it’s a good option
Why does it beat it? Price? Just curious

Any updates coming?
Updates is I love it. Maybe ill film something this weekend! I was waiting for something to come in for my .5 that ill use as my platform
Interesting product but that price point is crazy. Why not just buy a quality stand like Beast?
I had a beast stand and sold it. Curious why a beast stand would improve comfort? 🤔

@@MichiganGreatOutdoors That makes more sense, I thought most people used this instead of a stand.

Tx5 Minimalist is what I hunt with in my Tree stand.
