Funny, I live in NYC, which has over a million people of Chinese ancestry, and yes, the look featured in this video is widespread and common. Many Chinese women carry umbrellas on sunny days, and many of the young women strive to acheive the look of youthful innocence.
Well exactly, this is supposed to be the "goal" not the rule. In the west the stabdard of beauty was to look like the kardashians. Some women underwent plastic surgery to achieve that look. But the vast majority of women don't look like that even though that's supposed to be the standard.

I think that saying this is insane to want to look like, bad to look like this, will be offensive to people that naturally look thin and fair and youthful.
The end result of the appearance isn't bad or good, it's just a body. Rather, the insane thing would be someone whose healthy weight is 60 kg starving to be 45 kg, or someone whose bone structure physically makes them larger than a dam piece of paper cursing themselves about it... or like, anyone who isn't white-skinned, so most of the world, trying to not have the skin they're born with. That kind of thing is insane, the expectation of fitting a mold and the hatred and rejection of your unique body that doesn't fit that mold. My favorite concept is "body neutrality". The body isn't an aesthetic object, it's a machine that lets you interact with the world. You get to sense the world and move through it and communicate with it, that's what a body is all about.

The higher cranium also makes it look like you have a fuller head of hair, but it's more realistic and natural for the hair to still start at the top of the head and for it to not go very high. I may be petite by American standards and within a healthy BMI, but I can only fit in an A4 paper the long way, so I assume I would have to be on the edge of dying from atrophy to fit within an A4 the short way.

I think that saying this is insane to want to look like, bad to look like this, will be offensive to people that naturally look thin and fair and youthful.
The end result of the appearance isn't bad or good, it's just a body. Rather, the insane thing would be someone whose healthy weight is 60 kg starving to be 45 kg, or someone whose bone structure physically makes them larger than a dam piece of paper cursing themselves about it... or like, anyone who isn't white-skinned, so most of the world, trying to not have the skin they're born with. That kind of thing is insane, the expectation of fitting a mold and the hatred and rejection of your unique body that doesn't fit that mold.
My favorite concept is "body neutrality". The body isn't an aesthetic object, it's a machine that lets you interact with the world. You get to sense the world and move through it and communicate with it, that's what a body is all about.
These beauty standards are crazy, just be healthy. Healthy bodies are the only standard you should go for.

The higher cranium also makes it look like you have a fuller head of hair, but it's more realistic and natural for the hair to still start at the top of the head and for it to not go very high.
I may be petite by American standards and within a healthy BMI, but I can only fit in an A4 paper the long way, so I assume I would have to be on the edge of dying from atrophy to fit within an A4 the short way.
