    Ah, nice to see and hear my video again..i filmed this clip of Chris Buck playing with his band Buck & Evans at the Hug & Pint in August 2017 before it was lifted, and used (uncredited) in this video. It was up there on my channel, along with the rest of that fantastic gig. Sadly, in February 2022 my channel vanished, and I've had no explanation from TH-cam why this happened, or how to restore it. Maybe it could yet be saved, who knows? Chris deserves every success, he's a great guy and a brilliant player.

      Most musicians cal it "the zone". It's where music, instrument and player are all one. And it touches that "zone" in everyone that hears it.

    • @Grumpum
      @Grumpum 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Michelle Louise Davis Im 59 and been playing guitar since I was 11. Before that, I tried my hand at piano, violin and drums. When I was a cab driver in Los Angeles, my best friend was a studio musician named Earle Dumler who had also played for Frank Zappa and the Mother of Invention. I frequented the movie sound stages as his guest and music studios as well. Playing and listening to music both live and on radio has been a HUGE part of my life. While there are a large number of excellent players, there are few that can regularly find themselves that lost in, what I call, the zone. I can make a piece of music sound great because I have that kind of practice and mechanical knowledge. But exposing myself that deeply is VERY difficult. I can count on my fingers the number of times that I was overtaken by the moment, music and gave control over to the emotion so deeply that I didnt care who was watching. This piece of music isnt just a man playing notes. It's a human being baring his soul. A very rare and powerful thing.

    • @Grumpum
      @Grumpum 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Michelle Louise Davis One other thing. I could play all of the notes exactly like he's playing them. 100% the same...mechanically. but it wouldnt be 1/10 as good as what he's playing right now because what he is playing is more than just the notes.

No. This is just a standard musician connecting with his instrument. Is he good? Yes, he's supposed to be. Does he make you feel something?? Yes, he's supposed to. He's not extraordinary, it's just that most people aren't searching for quality music and aren't LISTENING to what's really out there. Don't be fooled by mainstream media crap that you get bombarded with constantly. That's just a money machine to fill your ears with 60% standard drum beats and chord progressions and 40% advertisements. I literally got goosebumps. I've listen to John Mayer nearly every day for a decade and this is reminded me of some of his incredible performances. The amount of soul Chris put into this is palpable. There are some players who play incredibly well with the best technique, but it's as if something is missing from their performances. With this, that "something" is so present that it permeates through the screen. It's like it radiates from Chris and his guitar as if they're one. Instant favorite. Already know I'll be listening to this probably for the rest of my life the same as the solos by JM

      @@SilverSurfer5150 Maybe you don't have it ,and that is why your not happy with yourself which is becoming evident with each response. I hate when people with very little or no talent start making advanced calls on music they could never do them selves.

    Very nice solo!!! The rest of the band did a nice job of following him when he changes his intensity. You can tell that they like what he is doing, and he trusts them to support what he is doing. Very nice musicianship from everyone!
