LEGENDARY ESD Pak-Mor manual greens (stormy) pt. 1

We're back on a terribly windy and rainy day in December 2009 with one of San Diego's famous Crane Carrier / PakMor rear loaders out collecting the greens. On (just one part of) the Tuesday route, you will see these amazing workers pulling it off at lightning quick speed and probably emptying some of these cans as fast as humanly possible (see 4:36 into the video).
They're great people, and thanks a million to them for letting me film them for so many hours (today's posting is only a fraction of the series). PLEASE comment and show your appreciation, it means more than you probably think, because as I write this video's description up MANY months prior to posting the video, I know even now that I will be checking back on its results frequently just to see what you all have said. As I grew up around garbage trucks (Dad & Brother both worked for Waste Management) your videos are fun to watch.
I used to spend the day in the company "yard" investigating all types: packers, front end loaders, luggers, roll offs and side loaders though they were just coming into their own.
My dad would even start the trucks up so I could learn what the levers do on each rig and work the "cycles"

Holy shit! These guys deserve every penny they earn and more! I love how the driver is always out there helping whenever needed. That one stop with damn near 10 bins or so being done in less than a minute or so, holy shit thats amazing speed. These guys get paid to keep fit! Whats beeter than that? I also love how they let the forces of nature close the door on the cab when he takes off :) I normally start to nod off on manual collection after about 5 or 6 minutes, not a chance in this vid!

I'm starting to think San Diego has the fastest manual collection crews. All of the San Diego ESD videos I've seen in the past year feature fast crews that get the job done in the blink of an eye. Great job, so many things to say but not enough characters I can use in this comment LOL. The way he took all the lids off the cans @ 4:42 reminded me of a scene I saw in the movie "Men at Work".

Nice, as for those who dont read the description, I know how it goes, in my video of a Red WM truck (in traffic) I got a comment commented saying "cool, what company is this BFI!!!???" People are so lazy they will not even read the titles of my videos ;) Some of the videos from Trashman262 and Lahluv feature some fast workers working at similar speeds. These guys are the reason why Manual Collection is better then automated, they can leave the bins standing up still, but move faster then ASLs
Damn! I have those moments too of, I worked damn hard to get this video and it was such a great truck to see so READ the FREAKING description LOL. Fantastic video. What part of SD? WHat time did these guys get done? The guy driving was MOVING! These guys are just so damn good! Did you find this crew on purpose? Drivers of the year award...

@Trashman242 - Depends on the crew. Some are so fast I literally cant keep up with them . This is usually the case on Monday's or after holidays. Some crews are always slow or they are running late and tired.
These guys do go quick, like no fucking around with those bins at 4:40... just bang bang bang and all done! Spotted his sudden stop at 5:19 - "shit forgot to put it back" haha I also reckon the driver does 10 laps around the truck before getting to the back, we just don't notice lol Thought it was a sweet view down the street at 7:46. No time to close the door between stops in that clip too :P Nice intro shot as well, must've been just before starting the run eh? Top job Scott!
@Trashman242 haha Nah, I'll never nod off while being the one collecting! I actually hope to do manual collection before going into the automation biz. Its far more fun to do than to just watch in my opinion :D
They need to get Usain Bolt up front a gold-up or DSNY-style door! How many stops does this crew have in the average day?

ESD greens crews always seem to create an entertaining video, damn they put so many RL teams to shame as well! Do they do this all day long or do they go this quick so they get the route done ASAP and go home early? I'm trying to figure out if the word "stormy" in the title is referring to actual weather or the way these guys work :S Always love the scream from these CCCs, especially insane growl from the exhaust side like after 1:10 and 1:22. Get some mean take-off sound too!
American Disposal and AAA are just as fast when they want to be lol
I had a feeling this would be gone by now... quite a shame indeed. I can't recall all the gossip on Flickr, but they got new Pak-Mors in didn't they? CCC again?
Great video! haha i like how they just throw everything thing around like whatever. Some of these stops reminded me of stops in your EDI videos lol. Also i would like to know why we could find stops like these for ESDs now retired wittke Fls? did i get that one guy who was driving on film that hat hes wearing seems familiar lol if we still could ud get 5 stars from me :)

Of all your vids, these ESD Pak Mor vids are my favorites by far. Beautiful trucks and great camera work. No plans to automate these routes I hope?

@RainbowDisposal LOL I thought the same thing actually (about how 4:42 reminded me of Men at Work - aka Charlie Sheen at his finest LOL), but I could not say it because YT only allows so many charcters per comment. God YT is getting on my nerves more and more each day, I think sooner or later this community of trash truck filmers (at least the ones who were here for the good old YT will wind up on some other website for videos)
@Trashman242 Yeah, I think it is more from the invaision of all the annoying little kids here. I have always read the descripptions on videos so I dont sound clueless when I post a comment that was already answered in the description. Yeah all you see with automation is somthing going up in the air and comming back down, most of the time drivers also are boring when on film and do not filp lids or do double dumps etc,due to fear of getting in trouble.
