I've always felt like they made this huge detailed world and just when they were about to add the game to the world they just released it instead.
My theory is Bethesda at heart are cartographers and satellites put them out of business so they make RPG maps instead.
I could never get immersed in an MMO. The combat just doesnt feel like combat to me.

@@monirizz3342 A lot of us love Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas but think the Bethesda games are lacking. I think Fallout 3 and 4 both have interesting maps to explore and I like the style of the ruins. But the writing varies from bad to nonsensical and the choices are usually uninteresting. Quests lack variety in how they are solved. That said I have a lot of hours in Fallout 4. It's a good game to relax with after a long week at work. It's a walking simulator with violence.
If only they made it fallout 4.1 single player. Could of been awesome
Honestly, a single player toggle in every game like this would be great, not just for the sake of doing your own thing, but also for the preservation of the game since servers won’t matter

This game would NOT function as a single player. Its an MMO which is based on world events and stuff like that. Its not a regular fallout with multiplayer added to it. There are next to no regular quests.

The AI for this game consists of actual Bethesda employees moving enemies around attached to sticks poking through the 2015 graphics. Sometimes they miss the cue and move dead enemies around to attack you and sometimes they forget to attach anything to their sticks at all so you get attacked by nothing. Hard to believe this is the same company responsible for ESO which isn't stellar but does look amazing and is fairly stable.

Fallout 76 is made by a worse Bethesda team than the ones who are behind their usual titles, while ESO is made by Zenimax Online.
ESO is one of the top mmos in the Market right now and definitely leaps and bounds beyond this game

@syrus1233 then stop running it on a commodore 64. On Xbox series X ESO looks constantly amazing. You may find 2 or 3 people that would support your clearly incorrect statement. There are just people that will be "anti" because they get off on the feel of going against the grain knowing they are wrong.
My main problem with the game is how everything levels with you. It defeats the purpose of finding better armor and guns since you'll still spend the same amount of bullets on the same enemy no matter what level you are.
The game actually used to work like this but they changed it for some reason. I really miss this too because if one of your friends wanted to try out the game you could get them to level 50 in like an hour if you knew what you were doing

I use less ammo per enemy now as I level. Get your gear and perk setup right and you're fine.

I picked this game up a few weeks ago and honestly really like the gameplay, it’s very fun to just run around the map and find stuff and explore
Its the best map that they've ever constructed in my opinion. and the ambient score is really nice.
I agree I love the map, the quests, stories, music is great. A lot of it is great ! It was terrible on release and it’s still buggy as hell and janky but it’s fun to play.

Public teams are for experience buffs. You are in no way obligated to squad up just because you're on a public team.
I play with a few close friends occasionally, farming events and Daily Ops. Besides all that the largest part of the game feels single player.
Randoms only really co-operate on superboss's, and thats if we can really call fighting over DPS co-operation.

I love Fallout 76. Sure it's not New Vegas, but Appalachia is beautiful and huge. There is a lot of lore and interesting origin stories which adds to the gloomy (and sometimes hopeful) atmosphere. It's got that signature Bethesda world building.
P.S. I played it as a single player game.
Not interested in multiplayer, tried only a few events, but I do have to say that this game has one of the best online communities. First time I met another player in the game they dropped me some very useful loot. I later found out that a lot of experienced do this to help new players. Very wholesome and awesome.
Edit: I bought this game 3 months ago for 8.99 EUR on sale.

Yup, you said it, if you could play this offline without enemies scaling to whoever rando's on that area before you, or without the slight constant annoying lag to every action you take, immersion breaking timed events, nukes and eyesore player houses made of stairs it would be _almost_ good. Crafting's p. good, enemies (at your level) tend to be less spongy, and the map and survival mechanics are decent. And the scorched are an infinitely better fit to the fallout universe than the synths.
You mean you *don't* like seeing 2 billion salvage machines on a plywood platform suspended by a single staircase? 🤣

@@Archivun the game actually has updates so why not every other game I buy has one update and it’s over with. 76 was the worst game of all time, they ended up giving updates after updates with content. Recently just gave us the biggest update yet, I can earn 200+ cool rewards who wouldn’t want to play. And the story is awesome I wish I could go back and do it again.

as far as games in the mmo ecosystem go I actually dont hate it, a lot of the things people say is wrong with it is what i see in a lot of other mmos not considered bad, beats the shit out of mmos for me
I play it and I enjoy it. Great way to play alone, but help people if you want. I setup a camp near 76 to give out free supplies, level 1 weapons and armor. If it had launched in its current state, it would be more well received. But it didn’t. And at times the graphics really feel dated.
It's pure crap filled with "fetch this and that" and "go kill enemies" quest. No plot, no real and engaging end game mission or anything. Fallout 76 is "exploration/FPS" with a Fallout skin to lure people in... And it fails miserably because Fallout was built in good lore (see F1, 2 and NV) and this game has none - or at least none that is relevant.

I enjoy the game, actually have played through the entire game “story content” three times. Great community and a game that is not perfect but has improved greatly from launch. I enjoy the multiplayer, sometimes I chill on my private server or base build. I liked the addition of seasons personally.
Nah, you're still grinding for useless shit and the game has crashed on me every single day I've played it. Shitty FPS, slow to a crawl menu navigation at times, buggy code, engine etc. All pulled over from Fallout 3 which they've had plenty of time to correct but choose not to.

Thank god i never wasted money on this. Stuck with New Vegas and modded Fallout 4. Whats funny is Bethesda COMPLETED Black Isle Studio's failure at making a Fallout MMO.

Its already is. I started playing last year and everything bad I thought about 76 before is quite gone. There's a reason that it's still here after 4 years. Just remember that this is an online game. We can still play it alone etc but in the end if we want to fully enjoy it, we gotta accept its an online game

It has the soul of fallout, still with great lore and good story in the missions, same gameplay but the MMO part makes some stuff gotta be watered down, because the game has to be interesting as long as its online. The old fallout games have a solid one big story and that's it.
If you can play online game, try it out yourself and judge yourself if the game is as stupid as other people say. Get a free offer like gamepass or a discounted one. If it's not for you, then at least you can tell people why personally it sucks. Cheers!

Which is what I screamed the first time I realised that the nuclear bomb outline drawn on the cartoon map does not line up with nuclear explosions actually in game, and that you can in fact explode by fast traveling 'near' them.

Honestly 76 aint that bad. I didn't like it at first but it grew on me
I was trying to replay FO4 and got fed up with the lame dialog choices and decided to replay FONV for the first time since it came out. Talk about a complete different handling method when it comes to writing. I forgot how good FONV was.
Never tried FO76 after that whole fiasco. As someone with a heavy West Virginia heritage, it always made me sad how much the game sucks and was completely mismanaged.
FO4 was the first game I played when I got my PS4, which was my first console ever. Without any previous knowledge of Fallout or RPG games in general really, I played the fuck out of it and loved it.
Everytime I try to replay it now, I give up after like an hour. It's a shame but at least I enjoyed it while I did.
TBH this video is NOT a good repritensation of the game. Yes it was horrible at launch, but i picked it up for 10 euro aftherwards and in the 2 years i have been playing it it has become a hidden gem of a game. Mah man didn't even show the story or perk system, just walking around shooting shit XD
That’s kind of what you do in these games.
For what it's worth, Fallout 76's dialogue is much more akin to New Vegas in tone and general quality, it even brings back skill/attribute checks. I can't speak for the game's treatment of contemporary West Virginia, but its treatment and utilization of WV history, especially its labor history, is exactly in line with how Fallout should be imo. Even outside of the specific references to Appalachia, the stories and conflicts of 76 feel much more closer to 1, 2, or New Vegas than they do 3 and 4. That said, the actual quests themselves are more in modern Fallout's camp.
I'd still recommend picking it up if you see it on sale

How is fallout 4 bad, i lts my first fallout game and im having fun
I feel like this review was a bit unfair, I know FO76's bad reputation and that it's far from perfect but its been a blast playing with my friends and I find it to actually be pretty good. The game isn't all shop features that are paywalled, I'm a "f2p" (gifted the game and haven't bought 1st) and my camp is decked out and so is my character.
You can repair your gear for free by scrapping junk over time and you also get the repair kits you complained about being p2w for free over time in the shop/scoreboard etc. I will say the game is definitely a slightly better experience if you pay but it's in the most nothingburger way besides the scrapbox and ammo box having infinite storage. Its only a handful of exclusive cosmetic camp items, extra v bucks and the scrap and ammo boxes, nothing that's p2w unless you hate fomo (I do as well but I still think it's good despite the handful of locked decos). The scorchbeasts (dragons) just happen to spawn in the biomes you were in tbw, its not a invisible wall for noobs.
You didn't touch the holiday event or any event in general (I assume because you were kinda just stumbling around) which are often filled with helpful players who would likely drop players like you (noobs) free stuff. There's also a free scoreboard which is a battlepass that lasts 3 months which is more than enough time to finish which gives tons of stuff. I get that you can't sink 100 hours into every game you review but I feel like you sold Fo76 short is all.
you shouldnt have to need to play for many hours to start having fun, the average player will just stumble around. And having fun with friends is not a selling point
@@moniumus6303 Fun is subjective, there killer. I had fun out the gate but I also don't expect all games to jingle keys in front of my face as soon as I boot them up. The game does a good job of pointing you in the right direction (as long as you have the basic understanding of how a compass/map works). I said it was fun playing with others because it was, not that I was saying it's required for a good time, I feel like your complaints are pretty poor ngl

Fallout76 isn't a horrible game its fun to explore and see peoples camps and do events and such and if you have friends to play it with its super fun but it dose have alot of problems i will say but hay its a fallout game with lorenand stuff so with me i like to walk around and piece things together and i love haveing a shop and selling stuff i because addicted selling stuff its fun but i understand its not for everyone my favorite fallout is 3 still but 76 is not horrible

Only way I've found to play it as a typical Fallout single player is the custom worlds where you can adjust all the settings and tailor the world to how you want to play it...but of course that's only with Fallout 1st for $99 a year of $13 a month...

Bethesda doesn't deserve the Fallout IP at this point anymore. The same bugs and issues exist in Fallout 76 that have existed since Fallout 3 and they have had numerous games under the same engine and game code to fix them.

I got it free this month on PS Plus and have played with a buddy for about a week. Game's fine, we're from WV so that probably adds some bias. I hated it for the first 20 levels since every cool gun or armor has a level requirement but once you can use things it's kinda fun. The map's super cool to us since we get to visit these smaller versions of places we actually know, though it's not really accurate to where some places are. The community is super friendly, players almost always drop free stuff for each other. Still has the issues of being a Bethesda game but I'd rather play it over Fallout 4 or Skyrim.

There actually is a "single player" mode if you buy Fallout 1st and use the private server, another thing that is commonly mistaken are people thinking Repair Kits are the only methods of repairing items, if you inspect your item in a workbench, you can repair items with your materials instead
I came back to this game after the Wastelander dlc and it's an amazing game now. The problem is you didn't take the time to learn hardly a thing. The game as a long learning curve and the community is awesome. Shame people with no understanding of the game keep trashing it for others and they miss out. But millions of us and the influx of new players are very happy with the game.
I avoided it because of the bugs. After many years I went back and after a week or so I’m level 41 and I wanna keep playing. It reminds me of fallout. How it’s supposed to be.

Just because you have time in a game doesn’t make it not good.. fallout 4 is literally one of the best in the franchise both mechanically and lore wise, it’s base building isn’t perfect but fuck is it still so much better than 76, which brings me to another point you don’t even understand fallout 76 clearly and it’s why you don’t enjoy it. When the game first came out it was empty but after 4 long years someone finally fixed it, it’s full of life, quests to complete and builds and settlements to make, it’s almost a perfect version of what fallout 4 survival mode could have been instead of the bullet sponge stupid hard bullshit we got, it had a rough start yes, but you know what... just stick to Skyrim something you actually know. The idea of Palpatine being isekai'd into the Fallout Universe is equal parts delightfully amusing and interesting, especially if he got to keep his Force Powers.
I imagine his faction would be fanatical like the Children of Atom, have the highest technology imaginable like The Institute, and have an overwhelming military might like The Brotherhood of Steel. I'd be genuinely invested in that Fallout Alternative Universe. Someone, make that mod! ...then again, no. Rey Skywalker would find a way there by tearing open a rift with her Force Powers because of course she can, and it will be TLJ: Fallout Edition. Never mind.

I was prepared to actually listen to your points against my favorite game, and one that I've been almost exclusively playing and enjoying for the last 4 years, since it came out. But at only 1:00 minute in, you levelled the stupidist deal-breaking comment possible: 'the guns feel pretty bad to use'. The guns are one of the BEST aspects of this game, and there are many, MANY very positive aspects to this game. The diversity, the customizeability, the feel and sound when you fire them. The effects of their destructive capabilities. All awesome. I'll watch a bit more, but if you criticize yet another of the most positive aspects of the game again, I'll just have to stop. :)

The world is great and the world building that ISNT the main series factions is really great. Romping around with my best friends in the wasteland has been a dream of mine since Fo3. Don’t matter what happens to this game always gonna be an S+ to me, played since beta and so many fun memories of discovering the game, bugs, mechanics, so now a day a full fledged destiny like grind to get the best gear each update, and we always sprinkle a little bit of bullying legacy owners in there, still one of my favorite games period

It's a one-time buy. It's also on GamePass for PC and Xbox and it's included in this month's PS+ Essential games. There's a subscription service, but while it makes things a lot easier (unlimited scrap storage is huge) and gives you access to custom game modes it's not a necessity.
I mean, you literally can just play it as a single player game if you want. I have played through all the main quest and side quests without bothering to team up with anyone. At no point does it force you into it and as the map is so large with a max of 24 players it's actually relatively rare you randomly run into another player outside of settlements. Sure at launch it was a ridiculously buggy mess, but it's actually fine now. Is it as good as 3 or New Vegas? No. Is it better than Fallout 4? In my opinion yes. It plays basically the same but has a much better story to it, if they made more regular actual quest content I would play it all the time, but as it is right now the end game grind for the very small chance of some very slightly better gear is just boring as hell.

Just started playing it after getting it for free on playstation plus and all I had say is I'm very pleasantly surprised I didn't expect myself to have that much fun exploring the map and to be honest I kinda prefer the brighter map of fallout 76 over the darker more destroyed looking map of fallout 4

Tbh I think fallout 4's shooting is very good although it's far better with mods. My tier list is first FO4 second FONV and last FO3 because in that game it was VATS or praying you get a shot

I see the appeal, the world is great and the camp building and trading scene is fantastic. But I just can't get into it. The grind and gameplay loop isn't for me.

This game gives you way more for your money worth, you’re the reason why cod isn’t fun no more. Grinding camos ain’t a grind now, everyone can get a gold gun in 20 minutes. Much more rewarding if it’s a big grind. So you rather beat the game in a half hour ?? Grinding is the best part. Bro I can craft a million ammo in two seconds, and there’s a ammo workshop you can use like everyone else had to do, or earn caps by selling stuff you find on the ground which takes two seconds to pick up, then buy the ammo. It’s called going to the right places for kills to loot, you’re just not playing the game. They just added a Infinite ammo box stash that’s how much ammo players get but you can’t find none okay, just learn how to play the game.
@@QfngB Boy I played the game enough to know what a tidious grind ammo can be😂😂 I don't like to spend hours to farm ammo only for it to run out after 1 queen run. Also if I recommend you to try the game from 0, you"ll see why most people don't like to play it. You clear 1 area and you have to do 3 daily ops runs. Also like I said I don't like farming ammo, I never talked about not liking the game. If I have to farm ammo every day just to enjoy the core mechanics of the game, that's a problem for me. You can't force everyone to like the game, if you want to farm ammo or don't need to, good for you.

Yeah, actually I followed 76 got the one Tamriel action on it so it’s not that you’re not high enough level it’s just that you suck when the game came out there were actually dangerous areas where new players cannot go because they were died everything and anything by one Tamriel If everything scaling out, you can take your newly minted character right out of the vault and attend the scorch beast queen event, do actual damage to the queen, and get rewards.
I figured I'd waited long enough to give this game a try. I saw that most of the bugs were fixed and thought it was kinda fun. Got to level 50 and started progressing on the main story a fair bit.
Then I hit a main story mission where a "clear the area of enemies" objective failed to complete after I cleared the area of enemies. I thought well ok, maybe it'll reset if I leave and come back. It did, but I had to redo killing all of the enemies. No big deal.
I keep playing, get to a main story mission where I'm supposed to use a automated hiring terminal to aquire an executive badge to gain access to a door. I do everything I need and it says "congratulations executive" and doesn't give me the badge. Maybe, I could leave and reset the area, but instead I decided to leave the game. I don't know when or if I'll come back.
That's two broken objectives, in MAIN story missions. That's something that should work on day one and we are way past that now.
You have to go to the printer and print the badge, there are missions that are interconnected, you have to READ the details, tip just activate the mission you are doing as ACTIVE so as not to get other icons from other missions disturbing your view.
@@Angel-LosAngeles Thanks, but I had used the printer. I did it for a badge to use the elevator. Then I learn I need a different one for more access. I go back, get the resume, use the resume on the resume machine, it says I'm hired and to go get my executive badge at printer. I activate the printer and I didn't get the badge. It apparently thinks I've already got it when I definitely don't or else I could go through the door.

I think the game is fun but the only thing I don’t like about it is that the game literally tells you nth after level 50 and you have to figure out everything I mean everything. And also the game is WAY to grindy, like shit I always run out of ammo or I have to ask some level 450 or smth for ammo cause he plays the game like it’s his 9-5 job
