I love the fact that you can tell these kids are just figuring it out as they go along and that they aren't the "perfect, know everything" characters that have permeated the film industry these past few years. That was part of the charm with the original movie, even though Venkman, Stanz, and Spengler were scientists, they pretty much made it up as they went and as the original movie progressed, you saw them become more effective as Ghostbusters.
Even if some people end up not liking that they are going for a Goonies/Spielberg style kid adventure movie - this IS a Ghostbuster movie. It has the feel, the sound, and the look.
I love it how fanservice is scarce in today's world then this movie comes along being a literal love letter to the 84 and 89 movies and people are like "Eh this is too much fan service for me".
Corny AF comment here… I’m a huge Ghostbusters fan. My dad took me to see Ghostbusters 2 when I was around 4 years old. I’ve waited almost my entire life for a third installment. I cannot wait to see it.
