Century Child (Álbum)
Century Child es un álbum del grupo de metal finlandés Nightwish. Es su cuarto álbum, publicado en el año 2002, es el primer álbum con el bajista Marco Hietala, anteriormente miembro del grupo Sinergy, quien también hace voces, reemplazando a Sami Vänskä. Century Child incluye canciones que tocan una gran variedad de temas y pensamientos en sus letras, desde la furia (en Slaying the dreamer) hasta el más completo romanticismo (en Forever yours).
El disco también tiene la particularidad de incluir una versión de "El Fantasma de la Ópera" (The Phantom of the Opera), originalmente escrita por Andrew Lloyd Webber para Sarah Brightman y Michael Crawford. Esta obra también fue versionada por bandas del mundo del Gothic metal como Dreams of Sanity, Lacrimosa y Anabantha (siendo la versión de este último en español).
El álbum fue doble platino en Finlandia con más de 60.000 copias vendidas, el segundo álbum más vendido en Finlandia en el año 2002. Hoy en día, Century Child ha vendido más de 90.000 copias sólo en Finlandia.1 A nivel mundial vendió más de 350.000 ejemplares entre 2002 y 2003.

Totalmente, los conozco desde 2004 con Once y de ahí toda su anterior y posterior trayectoria. Fiel a ellos siempre.
No podía ser la definición más exacta y certera. Tan únicos, cuánto talento junto. Grandes todos sus músicos. Gran compositor Tuomas. Dos gigantes como Marco y Tarja al frente, interpretando esas complejas letras. Ahora con otro batería, Troy y Floor, siguen siendo sublimes.

Not for me, I stepped in NW in 2019 with Floor. And I pm a big fan. Live goes on, it’s 20 years ago that Tarja left the band. My students only know Floor. For the ‘oldies’ Floor sang in 2002 in After Forever as support act for Nightwish. The diehards NW didn't know what they heard, Floor was already so good back then.
Tarja, your era is still loving and never boring.
She is perfect, this song is very demanding and she still communicates with eyes and fingers,so powerful and strong vocals and scene presence glorious.
I love her outfit and this performance is one of the best if not the best.

True but Tarja's solo work is top notch. Her last album, in the raw, might be the best she's ever done. Plus Floor really is pretty good. I used to hate the new drummer but what it came down to was he wasn't Jukka, But if you really listen to him, there's no denying that he's really quite good, just has a different style.

faaaa que tema dificil para hacer en vivo, como ella busca aire todo el tiempo y lo encuentra para poder seguir y darnos a los espectadores la mejor calidad posible, no aflojaba mantenía su nivel y no solo se nota un talento natural, se nota mucho esfuerzo y entrenamiento para brindarnos esos shows. Coincido lo mejor del metal sinfónico hasta ahora fue Tarja Turunen y su insuperable Nightwish!

Ya pasaron 14 años de esto... y aunque la tecnología avanzó mucho y la banda sigue sonando impecable hoy en día... la belleza estética, la magia y el carisma y voz de Turunen hace que ésta que aquí se ve y oye ÉSTE A AÑOS LUZ de lo que hoy hacen tanto NIGHTWISH como TARJA en solitario... esto me resulta DIVINO lo de ahora es cómo más de lo mismo pero un poco PEOR!!!
Peor? Ahora explotan los escenarios. Acá tarja apenas podía cantar. Casi yo me asfixio con ella. Es horrible ver actuaciones así. Parece que sufren. Ahora tienen toda la potencia.

Вот смотрю с выступления с тарьей и вообще нет ни одного цепляющего видоса, у Флор же что ни песня то драйв, мощь, эмоции. Сама манера исполнения Тарьи не вкатывает, этот оперный голос не в тему вообще. В каждой песне практически
@@Dima-fb3qs как раз таки в Nightwish должен быть именно оперный голос ,так как они так пели изначально и все привыкли к такому вокалу . Этим Nightwish и отличались от других групп. Лично я слушаю Nightwish только с Тарьей , с другими принципиально не слушаю . Сам слушаю в основном тяжеляк , но Nightwish для души .
@@metall1220 оперный был изначально и к нему привыкли- именно!!! А с Флор все звучит куда интереснее, группа довольно долго уже держится и сейчас будем наблюдать вялость в общем во всем, так сказать мне с последнего альбома уже мало что понравилось

Haha, I love this! My only criticism is that Marco sounds a little pitchy when trying to harmonize with Tarja. His voice definitely improved over the years! That said, blending classic voice with pop voice is hard, especially with vocal distortion, especially when both are “lead singers,” especially live! It’s like blending clean and distorted electric guitar, except you also have to worry about blending pitch.
agreed...love to see Marco use some of his potent vocal skills without distortions and Tarja as always beyond divine...her voice lifts me to Nirvana

Gosh, this is one of the best live performances of this song. It's so bad that Tuomas's passion destroyed everything. This show is perfect illustration of words "Your spirit and my voice in one combine" from "Phantom of the Opera". Nightwish is still good band, but chemistry and magic had disappeared since Tarja was fired. I think Tuomas should have consulted to a psychotherapist before dismissing divine Tarja. Probably nowadays he has some regrets, but there's no turning back...
